I bought 3 of these traps. It doesnt pay. You’re better off with the regular TNR traps at $80 each. These 1099 traps that come with a separator claw (for when we change the papers and feed them )that have spacings too far apart to where the cat escaped.
Plus the back door with the Too small loops to put the rod thru Does Not Make for a smooth process to secure it or unsecure it when you need to work. Too cumbersome.
Otherwise if you can devise a Secure way or speak with other TNR people who can give pointers how to better use and rig this , then its worth it.
Which model/brand is best for TNR? I need to get one and someone is selling a 1045 Havahart for a very good price, but others say Tomahawk is best. Thanks!
The instructions are incomplete. Very confused about how to activate door - this isn't covered at all.
If you are able to use a knife and fork, you should be able to figure it out.
There is a hole on the trigger pad in one corner. One hook on the trigger rod goes through it, and the other hook goes on the door release.
Please update this video AND the instructions in the box. They are completely useless.
video shows literally everything except how to arm the trap which is what we all need. its obvious how to make a friggin box lmaooo. i like your khakis :)
How do you set the hook up to keep the door open so the cats get used to it?

Can u adjust the flap to react faster .. I think it’s not tripping once I found the can empty and did not trip and I bait the inner flap of trap so cat goes to end of flap so his weight trips it but nothing ..
This is so complicated! I'm trying to get my house cat who is lost in my back yard in The Yards around me back home again safe after a house fire but this is so complicated!
I saw someone use one of these traps on RUclips but it took way too long for the trap door to close.
Lol wow back in the day the original trap was hella easy this is overly complicated in design keep it simple

These are expensive traps, so you would think they would come with a decent set of instructions and the pieces would line up so the trap is actually secure. Nothing lines up properly, and I had to force the door shut while holding down the cage and pulling up on the cage at the same time. How am I going to do that with a feral cat inside? I am about to set my first trap, but am honestly worried that I wont be able to open the door to get the cat out after I trap it. You can really tell this trap was cheaply made. I have a feeling that I am going to be returning this trap after one use!
Havahart is a homeowner brand. Get a Duke, or a Tomahawk.

I am look for an adult cat trap with smaller tunnel for kittens to come to the mom which would have a one way door so they could not get out once in with their mom.

I, too, can not see how to use the door hook to get feral mom & kittens used to going in & out. Waste of money and this is of no help. Sad.

This is how to assemble the trap for the first time. Doesn't show how to set the door and operate it. I had the trap assembled for a friend and am trying to send them a link on how to set the door. This video isn't helping.

What a joke - 50 steps are required and the cover each one at 90 Miles per hour. All that money wasted on music instead of decipherable content.

My neighbor has a cat that prefers my yard over its own. I’ve told my neighbor to please keep her cat at home. She replied it was an “outdoor cat”. So I said, “oh ok well in that case I guess I’ll just deal with him crapping in front of my back door every night then, and tearing up my screens trying to fight with my own cat thru my windows, all night- every night.
What is wrong with people? If I wasn’t an animal lover, this would be much simpler. But i have reached my boiling point. I’m getting one of these traps and her “outdoor cat” is going to become a “county pound kitty”.
