Moral progress is a product of an active faith in Jesus but many miss the point that Jesus didn’t come to make bad people good, but to bring spiritually dead people to life

@@goodknightcarolina In regards to Jesus's statement it shows that the mosaic laws were imperfect and not meant to last forever, because if one is imperfect you cannot assume the others are perfect nor should you considering that they do not match up to the ten commandments. After all, what does slavery have to do with loving your neighbor as yourself?
In regards to Paul's statement about honoring a cruel master his point was that Christians should demonstrate that they are above the trials of life, having the hope of heaven regardless of how anyone may treat them. Jesus commanded to rejoice in trials because your reward is great in heaven and Paul's instruction agrees. But in regards to Christian slave owners Paul warned them to treat their slaves well, knowing that they both have the same master, Christ. Yes, God always intended that Christians like Wilberforce should lead the charge against slavery but to be a slave does not prevent one from being saved and God chose the right time to motivate his servants against slavery when he knew it would do the most good. Besides the explicit instance of moral accommodation (divorce), I don't think we can say God gave the Jewish people a morally flawed law. He's the one that defines goodness, not us, so we shouldn't grant opponents their claims that other parts of the Law given to Moses are evil.

Why do you say that? Do you feel the need to subtly attack the islamic religion for her stance?
The bible been not been necesarilly changed. But reinterpreted thousands of ways, especially from a rocky start as the history of early christianity suggest. And so much so that it could not identify with judaism anymore and branched out as its own religion yet still uses the same canon of books the jews originally used.

@@marissajones1840 the fact that many denominations of christianity exist (more so than any other religion) based on interpretations of text like example Catholic and Protestant is proof that your claim has no bearing on historical facts. @@edwinasencio5727 how someone interprets the text is not relevant to what you are claiming, the different denominations are for your irrelevant reason difference in interpretation of the text but if you look at the bibles they're reading you'll see they're all the same bibles outside of the catholic which is the same but also includes the apocrypha. Historically there have been rewrites and they're marked as forgeries such as the slavers bible, the Thomas Jefferson bible, and in recent days the chinese bible but those are distinguished as different and false, the different translations actually help paint a much clearer picture if you're genuine when reading and not trying to poke holes.
