    Your video is really helpful but At times, it doesn’t matter how hard you study.you also need to pray to God for success..

      I have a cousin who never studied much, she gives most of her time to her phone than studies.after writing the CNA test last month, she passed and I failed 😣.just found out she got her help from Mr Philip.

    As of July 2021 PPE (gown, gloves and goggles) are required with Denture Care. Skill #14. Ohio STNA.
    These videos are helpful, but there are much more steps in the Ohio Nursing Assistant Candidate Handbook that can NOT be missed or points will be deducted!

    Toothpaste is not meant for dentures and scratches/damages them. Just brush them with denture cleaner creme (or mouthwash) and rinse.

    You put the dentures in the Emisson (sp?) basin before cleaning, you don't hold them while you are getting toothbrush ready.

    she did a lot of "shaking" we were told not to shake the toothbrush etc....also, aren't you supposed to put the equipment away then take your gloves off?

      In the class I am taking right now, we were taught to take the gloves off after cleaning the dentures, before returning the items because the gloves would be contaminated from handling the dentures before cleaning them. This skill (again based on how I learned it) requires washing the hands before the skill, after the dentures are cleaned, and then again before leaving the room. But each class is taught differently I guess. I do agree with the shaking of the toothbrush and Emesis basin though.

    she doesn’t check the ID band, she used the same paper towel to wipe inside and out and turn off the water and clean it again with the same paper towel. And more...

      @@AZMTI hi why dont you where gloves while your doing a bed bath the paitent could have a sickness that could you have never known about! And it could spreed to the person giving the bed bath

    She contaminated her gloves by turning the water off with her finger and not the back of her wrist when while she was drying the equipment - just a little detail I noticed. I was a CNA for over a decade in a nursing facility and just recently had to get dentures myself at 45-years-old!

    I have another cup for the cleaned dentures and I brush the inside of both cups .....and I use antibact dish wash liq instead of toothpaste and rinse thoroughly

    one thing i noticed she didn't wash her hands at the end that would be red flag right there and teacher would get you big time for that.

      its acceptable up to 3 times in a row and then you need to wash them

    I was taught to brush with a denture brush.... I was told if you used a toothbrush, it's an automatic fail...

    She touched the faucet with her gloves multiple times, she dried the bottom of the emesis basin first then the inside and then used the same paper towel to dry the toothbrush and toothpaste. That can't be right.

      Bridgette Love to set the dentures in while you prepare the toothbrush. You don't want to hold or set on a unclean surface.

      Warm water makes the dentures soft. You could easily remold them on accident.

      She also use the paper towel to dry the basin and then wipe the toothbrush. She did a lot of stuff incorrectly.

      Hi Iha. I'm not certain which towel you're referring to. The instructor did use a towel in the sink as required by AZ Board of Nursing. This procedure is done as the Arizona State Board of Nursing requires. I hope that helps!

      Hello! Those steps are not order dependent for your State Board exam. The key is making sure you put on your gloves. Putting them on first is acceptable. This skill has no bolded items so will not result in any automatic fails.

      Hi Tiffany, thanks for the feedback. This Denture Skill followed the exact steps from the Arizona State Board of Nursing for the CNA License Exam. Other states, facilities or hospitals may perform the skill in other ways.
