- In this Saltwaters Hawaii episode, Hunter, Dash and I went bait casting and sliding. We ended up getting some insane Mu action! I caught my biggest Mu at the time 6.4lbs!

Actually if you look at old Gyotaku prints they had little to no embellishments. Those are the best, you get the impression that it’s a print from the actual fish and that’s it. That’s what Gyotaku is supposed to be. If you want a “Photo Realistic” painting of the fish you can just take a picture of the fish. The commercial Gyotaku printers are going way overboard with the add on coloring and detailed embellishments. The spirit of old Gyotaku prints is being lost. Just clean up the eye and leave the rest alone. Less is more in Gyotaku printing. Agree or disagree I’ve given you something to consider.

This is going to sound a little crazy but back in 2017 my friends dad James caught a 23.7 pound mu of the shore of Maui beach cam one in the middle of the night. Bad news we didn’t weigh it for state record but thinking back I am kicking my self for not weighing it

Got a mu like that recently
Should save the jaws and tails wit the big ones. I save the jaws of almost all the mu me and my dad catch on pole. I got one 8lber, couple 6 and 5, and some 2-3lbers plus I saved 2 good size white papio jaws, 2 pananu jaws, one red uhu one, and the dried out heads from a 3lb nohu and a 3lb moi

@@StarWarsKrew Gotta try film um one day lol. If I steam or bake the fish like da mus then can just grab um out the face since all cooked around and soft the meat. Just gotta use skewer and toothpicks try clean off the meat scraps But like the uhus and the pananus I try cut um out the face and let the ants do their work for about 2 weeks or until no more smell. Same with the tails and heads. But the head take longer since get more meat inside um.

Yea! I did save the jaw. I usually keep my ulua jaws. But I had to keep this Mu jaw, So interesting 🤙
Nice catch bradahs looking good out dea. Using the right bait, just try to not use the females for bait, that way always get reproduction, especially the bigger ones. Other than that keep on catching, loving the content.
