Omgosh, how you did that all yourself is insanely kool!!! WOW. Omg, AND you’re building another house too? 😅 You’re amazing. I’m new to your channel, but every video is so chill and well put together (more goals for me, lol), and just… how do I put this? I get good vibes from your videos. 🥰🌱❤️ Your music and everything is uplifting.
Thanks for the comment ! Yeah it’s crazy how most people just burn everything all the time 😄ash is good too though but wood is even better~Lots of effort to burry wood 🪵 💚
Great video, thanks for sharing. What a transformation from marginal, unused hillside into a productive terrace, nice vision and execution. I would love to see more of how this hillside develops, like how much it ends up settling over time, the construction of the walls and upper terrace levels, etc. Subbed.
Thanks so much! Appreciate the comment. Yes I’ll try to get a bit more work done on it this year like the rock work on the bottom. Next year I’m thinking of using/filling/covering ‘wood pallets’ To creat the third terrace they would be structural :) Thanks for subbing 🌀🙏🏼😎
This is really cool, I love the hugelkultur principle and plan on doing more of that at my place. This is a great addition to your homestead! Great timelapse work too, it's very engaging. Is the music original?? I'm a musician myself so its cool to see others with the homestead/music passions intersecting! Also that's a beautiful dog and I love the sporadic cat cameos!
Thanks for the feedback ! Happy you enjoyed the vid 😁 Music is from epidemic sound .com That’s awesome you are a musician- use your own for your vids often? My family is musical I’ve played in the past…I’m gonna use some of my sisters songs/soundtracks soon I think 😄 Thanks so much for engaging !
This is the first video of yours I've seen so I don't know anything about your location, goals etc. But I can see your want to store water. You're right, tanks aren't cheap, even cheap plastic crap isn't cheap. How about building a tank with ferrocement? It's high labor, low materials. But cold joints don't matter, and if you stay below say 5000 gallons and also don't exceed the width with the height, it's pretty low consequence. Even with your home and vehicles below it. Anyway, just a friendly thought. Good luck!
Hey welcome to my channel 😄 good thoughts yeah I’d love to ! I’ll def explore that idea ! Prob be hard for me to find the time to build it tho… 😊 Thanks for watching and commenting
14 hours a day? I was going to ask how long it took you to finish. Syra, what are you thought on trees growing next to all that beds and vegetables? Market growers here chop off anything that blocks off the sun. We are in the tropics but I did see the difference with just the morning sun being shaded to those that do not on the farmers vegetable fields. For me it's more on the roots. We have all those big trees like durians, jackfruits, rambutans, bananas and mangoes and the bed will be full of them and even on my covered compost piles. That's why no dig is probably not a method to use on these beds cause those roots are like leeches.
Well my place is pretty much in the forest already hahaha so trees are pretty close to my growing beds. Only had a problem in one or two areas where a bed was right under the tree certain trees like cottonwood they put out sucker roots that also become new trees. But in general I don’t have much problem. That large fir tree that I have a grape growing up has no roots in the bead beneath. Thimble berry bushes are more of a problem for me they creep in… The trees ad a bit of necessary shade otherwise the plants and I would be fried lol 😂 I still manage to produce a lot of food with some shade💚
Yeah 😊 I’ll try! so many vid ideas and difficult to execute them all. thanks for the input I’ve been hearing what people are asking for…best to follow the leads of the peoples interest. Thanks so much minglebong good to hear from you ! 💚 hope your week is beautiful !🌀☀️💧🌿
@@_SunRa_ Wow, it's so weird to know when we have all that sun all year round! You have the better bargain then with the roots. It's really frustrating when everything is full of roots. Lol.. with the kind of trees we have here, we look pretty much like a forest too! We have the lutungs/langurs now in residence. I have to admit we do provide 5 stars amenities that they just keep coming. Squirels, civet cats, monitor lizards, snakes... the piggy is gone!! I think it's hard for it to cross the drain cause the water level is higher now with the new housing neighbourhood next door!
@@_SunRa_ Yours too! I carted 35 bags of leaves that the council left for pickup after cleaning the drain from the middle of the street when I saw them just waiting for me to bring them home!! Lol. I am finishing up my compost pile today and tomorrow by adding chicken guts. I figured if I double my effort, I would double my reward at the end. So every compost pile I would end up with about 8 pails of fish and chicken guts!! Almost like a market!!
I’m greatly intrigued but why all this work to create this hugulkulture when you can have pretty much the same result just by spreading an inch or two of good compost and forking into the soil and growing great crops… just curious!
😄 so hugelkultur has many benefits: The larger loges but even branches will absorb and hold water creating a water bank 💧 The wood slowly decomposes overtime building fertile soil (using rotten wood to get a head start is ideal but not necessary) It is how to build long term fertility and is free. It helps build a microclimate along with other permaculture methods. the first year or two growing on a hugelkultur has not much benefit besides being well drained and potentially creating a microclimate but as time passes it will become incredibly fertile !
That is one of the best looking Hugelkultur I have seen! Great job!! 👋✌
Thank you! it’s a lot of work lol
I hope to do 2 more on that bank 😄

Btw, you can't keep tempting us with all that glimpses of food. Please make a seperate video of them. Food vlogs do have higher viewers.
