I'm fallin for you girl. (: I studied for 14 yes then had children. I approached the craft again slowly with the enthusiasm of a child as I always do. Then I face judgement of witches who find themselves more educated, more powerful, and/or disbelieving of any of my spiritual experiences. The look I recieve is pretention, but I pretend not to notice.
This has helped me a lot to hold back from self judgement where I berate myself for "not being a 'real' witch' because I've slipped back into old habits and seemingly am wrecking my life, when I was at such a high level once. Personal evolution seems to be, at least for me, a process of taking two steps forward, and then one step back and doesn't feel like I get anywhere, but growing is always happening and even if I am older in chronological years, I feel young at heart most of the time and what age you are does not always mean you will be always 'mature' according to someone elses definition of this, and it doesn't mean that we won't do things that we 'should' have moved forward from years ago. And sometimes it's ok to take a break from witching alltogether. When I am grieving and allowing strong and powerful emotions like anger to arise in me that has been suppressed, I know it is not a good time to be casting spells or sending that energy out with intention. That is responsible witching in my opinion. It is hard enough to get through harsh life lessons without other people deciding we aren't worth it because they are at a different level and feel like anyone who doesn't do things like them are unworthy of their time. I've noticed many witches are just as easily succumbing to egoic tricks and traps as every "muggle". Women can be so harsh on each other. What happened to the 'sisterhood'? Falling back into victim mentality can be so easy, especially when life throws some extremely challenging curve balls at us. I prided myself once on taking responsability for everything I create in my life. What I have learned is that trauma can make life not so black and white when it comes to that and the thing with trauma is if you are not healed entirely and find yourself in a vulnerable position where predators can take advantage of that...then you end up in a vicious circle of traumatic incident after traumatic incident and in that situation it is very hard to not fall victim to ones own victim mentality. You can be highly developed in one area, like psychic for instance, and still nto that great at saying "no' and held back from patriarchal conditioning that stems back centuries. That is hard to break out of, no matter what level of witch you are at. Witches are still human. It doesn't matter what level you are at. Anything can happen at any time, and as much as I create my own reality...the GREATER reality is also going on around me ALL.THE.TIME and I have NO control over other people also creating their reality...sometimes in ways that mess with mine and keep me from progressing. The victim is still an aspect of us that deserves to be owned as much as any other and it does not equate to us not still being powerful beings...powerless is just contrast to that and I have found that I cannot become a survivor and heal truly until I really accept that I am also a victim at times. I've had a lot of people this last year turn their backs on me and judge me for things that I did and did not do, and been maligned in various ways, attacked, abused, and maintaining focus and self belief whilst alone aside from therapists and random people letting me vent it has been extremely difficult to not fall into that mindset. We all do from time to time. It's important to take responsability for our stuff and it's also important to give ourselves a damn break when we don't always live up to our preferred and aligned with creed because life can be very challenging, and I am not superwoman. I've found that the older I get the unwiser I seem to be at certain times. It's a strange journey for sure but I felt like I was more in touch with my wise woman when I was in my late teens and 20's and did not make the same bad decisions I've made in the last few years. I've grown a lot but I've also noticed that my shadow has been popping up to get my attention, and in other peoples minds that would not be behaviour that someone my age 'should' still be 'doing'. Self acceptance rules and it's just another moment to allow others their opinions and dismiss them for their own lack of acceptance of their own denied aspects and unrealistic expectations. What I've found is that times when others think I 'should' always be in my 'warrior' I am instead stuck in my 'child' and trauma can make it hard to move past that and be what others think you 'should' be. More understanding is something that would make this world a little more helpful and happier for those of us who are challenged. I seem to give that to others in spades, yet don't feel like it is returned to me. Not everyone has to be like me, of course, it just feels unfair at times that I give that and never seem to receive it. The pressure to always be Witching, as you put it, is real. Anytime we feel pressured to have to always be a certain preferred way, I find it makes it harder to actually be that way...and can cause all kinds of calamity.
In my witching, I have never been a spell type of person, my witchyness is honouring the sabbats / esbats and my tarot. I prefer greenwitchery. The joys of witchyness is there is no set formula for what to do. Witchyness is in the soul, and I agree with Anni as well.
Ametrine Moon I think they are many who identify as witches that experience is as a deep feeling of connection which is not about casting or making manifest but is more about that deep connection. And there are those who experience the path as a deeply reflective and inward one and not one about what is "done." We all experience it so wonderfully differently :)

Thank you for making this video. I've only watched a couple of videos about this topic, and they were both from the view of 'if you are a witch then shut up and witch". As an Autistic person who also has some physical disabilities I felt a bit excluded from the 'community' because of those videos. For those who are not familiar with the spoon theory, I suggest you look it up and give it a read. Witching takes concentration, which can be hard at me for times, as well as it is hard for my witchlings. It takes energy, which I am low on every day- it uses up my 'spoons' if I 'witch' too much. Maybe I'm not doing it 'right'. I know that I need to work on my priorities when it comes to witching. Sometimes witching is actually energizing, but this past week it has been draining. I guess this subject is one of those 'ironic' subjects for me- I don't like videos where people talk about their 'pet peeves'- those videos are my 'pet peeve', lol. Anyway, I appreciate this video very much, and agree with this point of view. People are in different places and while one person may be able to 'witch' through an ordeal on their own, others need support, or need 'more' support.
The Autistic Witch The Spoon Therory! Yes!! I also suffer with low energy because of after effects from a Car Accident. I live with it every day. Physical daily pain. I used to wish and hope and try to 'spell' it away. But for some reason I'm supposed to 'BE' this way. A sort of Destiny if you will. I don't like it, but it led me to this path and is keeping me alive, so far. I will control what I can, and let be what I instinctively know is meant to be. I have learned more about the beauty of life on this path, than I ever did studying Christianity...no offence, to each his own path, It just wasn't mine...

Bast Orchid Erzulie I enjoyed LGD's video very much ... and I think she does well to challenge us that if we aren't witching we might stop to consider why we are not doing so. What keeps us from it? Is it a matter of self-confidence, concern (or fear) or is it that we are a witch in the head at the intellectual level but have not put those thoughts into action? Or is it that we have a style of doing that others might not easily observe?
Sometimes we can not simply 'Witch our way through' something, or pray ourselves better. Sometimes we have to place our problem in the hands of another... whether that is deity, or a doctor, or the law, or a spiritual leader, or even the support of friends. That is just the beauty of learning and growing. To humbly accept the help of another is a gift that bonds us. I feel my bond to you strongly now MIRTHandREVERENCE as a sister in this journey, and I am thankful for your wise words. Not all witches do spells. Or do them often. Sometimes we go through things and they are learning the opportunity or something that we just have to go through. Witching doesn't always save us from having to experience hardships. That said, I am guiding of not being fully in my power and even of giving it up to others. Love your message!!! We may be witching by finding meaning in our experience or working through things in our own way. One example, as an empath, there are times when being an empath creates certain situations and even crises as we struggle to come to terms. We don't always know what to do with it or how to best navigate and channel it. As with everything, there is a process we are all going through that it probably vital to our life journey... even a sense of being lost, of hopelessness and all of the other struggles.

I been dealing with the dilemma of a friend and fellow witch that has and is becoming toxic to me and the advice given to me seems harsh, "I did a video" but I find that not only does she have excuses why she can't heal, but she is judgmental, and always trying to make me feel inferior to her by correcting my grammar or pronunciation and she knows everything and is very argumentative. I been learning about the LOA and she informed me it does not work and that I am on the wrong path. When I try to switch the conversation or tell her I cannot deal with her negativity she will remind me how sick she is and say things about how she wants to commit suicide.I hate that I have to avoid her. I am feeling guilty like I am not a good friend but it is wearing me out. Is there a more gentle way to deal with her or would you agree I need to just cut her loose?

So what is a witch? 'What does it mean to witch? Is it a person who goes through training for years and years, or just a year and a day to learn how to master "magick"? A person who's family has practiced a craft for generations that looks like magick? Is it a person who sings or chants an incantation while stirring a pot for dinner over a stove in her kitchen? Perhaps it's a person who quietly mumbles every time she uses a broom to sweep up the floor or place soap in a washing machine. Or is it a person who commits to ritual for every sabbat and cross corner? Maybe it's only a person who casts spells within carefully constructed circles watched by the towers and graced by deity and spirits? Silence is golden, does this also count as witching? What if a person only confesses to having done a couple of so called candle spells and has lost a job instead? Is this person a fake, a counterfeit? Some say that being a witch is being a master of the craft. What then is the craft? The knowledge that rosemary is not only a healing plant but is also a protection herb? Is it a person who can call up spirits and soothe them with herbs and incense? And if a person can't do either, is that person no witch? I wonder all the time about the modern movement that is called witch craft. I watch the online communities of witches, wiccans, magicians and crafters. I rarely participate because most fall into the same things that fueled the inquisition that is still fresh in my soul, judgment. Judgment out of fear, resentment, jealousy and pride. If you say you are a witch, then lets see the proof? I remember like yesterday that one would never dare say anything about being a witch. Is a witch a being that was defined by that church who started persecutions, or is it something way different and if so, what is it today other than a new found freedom to say so? There have been those who dare to define it for us and even dare to represent us in this modern world, and they've been short lived in the attempts. And so shall it always be so. A wise one? Wisdom belongs to the old ones where in the young may find a teacher. So is she the only real witch? Careful what we send out there, it will always gather an abundance of likeness and return to us faithfully for our pleasure or ill, it is, after all, a part of our self. This is one of the unbendable, unbreakable laws, be it called witch or any other name, it is the same. May we truly enjoy our freedom and each other as the wheels of life turn for us all.
I consider the most important part of being a Witch when I initiated under the Goddess, but some don't believe in deity per-se, so is it my place to judge others who don't hold this view? It's a concept of picking and choosing battles here, bc if you judge the wrong person, your asking the Universe for their karma to whatever degree you ask (aka judge). Judging is the pandora a box no one talks about, or can be if you wrongly judge. With that said, I don't tolerate bullying and that type of behavior, period. That's what my Virgo self would allow to judge, and everything else is non-important.

Believes in super power and energies. touches anything and creates, heals, fixes, even destroys if needed. is not afraid of dark , is not afraid of anything. Is kind, caring, smart, reads non stop. is very talented, thoughtful, Lovely, can be fat or thin, does not matter, ugly or pretty, does not matter. I have to accept that i started the path for curiosity and power, now i see it as a way to seek my true self,i am talented in spell work and all but when i say that gains are not why i do this, people kind of get upset for not helping their needs giving them easy spells like is nothing. and i truly like practicing magic but why if im not doing a spell work or a ritual everyday should i be judge by that. i just want to be one with source and thats all.

Sometimes we loose ourselves and suddenly when we are ready to conjure or spiritually practice is something that no longer is who we are or where we want to be.... maybe what worked for us in the past no longer servers us and we need a new spiritual path with in the practice of it in it's self. I don't honest "witch" as often as a I "should". I'm rather bad at manifesting. I'm so concentrated on getting my life on track that I often let the spiritual fall by the wayside.

I hear some witches say you are born with it and others you can become one, it's confusing I think it takes a lot of work if you become one, it takes a lot of dedication, read books, learn your herbs by name inside and out, know the repercussions of what you are doing, don't do a spell because nothing el in your life is working for you, it's not supposed to be instant, you could harm yourself and others

Are you afraid of it veering off in the wrong direction? I urge you to look deeply at where your inner peace and sense of reverence comes from. It does not belong to you, it belongs to God. Let God take the wheel - your constant striving will stop and you will realize that God's plan is ever unfolding. Your life is not about your effort - God gave the gift of Grace through his son, Jesus, who redeemed all of humanity - including you! You are already saved! This is why you never connected with Religious Christianity - because they were always telling you that you were a sinner who was never good enough. This is far from true - you are righteous and HOLY before God, because of Jesus' sacrifice on the Cross. God bless you!
I think it's wise that MirthandReverence is very careful about judging others- but sometimes it is important for those who are authentic and mature to call out others who are just playing games. There's no shame or wrong in using one's discretion. The whole point of having life experience is to teach us, and as we learn, we use that wisdom to guide us. There's an old saying, "first learn, then teach" - but nowadays, you've got so many RUclipsrs who are overnight experts and don't have the first clue. They cheapen things by telling people they are witches. A RUclipsr and Witch are two different things.

I don't like it, but it led me to this path and is keeping me alive, so far. I will control what I can, and let be what I instinctively know is meant to be. I have learned more about the beauty of life on this path, than I ever did studying Christianity...no offence, to each his own path, It just wasn't mine...

Yes indeed. Our very lives are our greatest rite; even when we fall away from practice. It's a paradoxical reminder of why we made our vows and dedications in the first place.
I love this! We are all on different stages of the journey and it reminds me of the death card. Sometimes the changes can be painful to watch or experience but there are always others to help us along the way. 😜

Bast Orchid Erzulie I enjoyed LGD's video very much ... and I think she does well to challenge us that if we aren't witching we might stop to consider why we are not doing so. What keeps us from it? Is it a matter of self-confidence, concern (or fear) or is it that we are a witch in the head at the intellectual level but have not put those thoughts into action? Or is it that we have a style of doing that others might not easily observe?
Sometimes we can not simply 'Witch our way through' something, or pray ourselves better. Sometimes we have to place our problem in the hands of another... whether that is deity, or a doctor, or the law, or a spiritual leader, or even the support of friends. That is just the beauty of learning and growing. To humbly accept the help of another is a gift that bonds us. I feel my bond to you strongly now MIRTHandREVERENCE as a sister in this journey, and I am thankful for your wise words. You helped me through a personal hangup of not feeling Witchy enough when it comes to my health. After seeing this video I realize I have been doing all I can, and it will pay off... eventually. Not all witches do spells. Or do them often. Sometimes we go through things and they are learning the opportunity or something that we just have to go through. Witching doesn't always save us from having to experience hardships. That said, I am guiding of not being fully in my power and even of giving it up to others. Love your message!!! We may be witching by finding meaning in our experience or working through things in our own way. One example, as an empath, there are times when being an empath creates certain situations and even crises as we struggle to come to terms. We don't always know what to do with it or how to best navigate and channel it. As with everything, there is a process we are all going through that it probably vital to our life journey... even a sense of being lost, of hopelessness and all of the other struggles.
Wow! Thank you for this. I been dealing with the dilemma of a friend and fellow witch that has and is becoming toxic to me and the advice given to me seems harsh, "I did a video" but I find that not only does she have excuses why she can't heal, but she is judgmental, and always trying to make me feel inferior to her by correcting my grammar or pronunciation and she knows everything and is very argumentative. I been learning about the LOA and she informed me it does not work and that I am on the wrong path. When I try to switch the conversation or tell her I cannot deal with her negativity she will remind me how sick she is and say things about how she wants to commit suicide.I hate that I have to avoid her. I am feeling guilty like I am not a good friend but it is wearing me out. Is there a more gentle way to deal with her or would you agree I need to just cut her loose?

So what is a witch? 'What does it mean to witch? Is it a person who goes through training for years and years, or just a year and a day to learn how to master "magick"?
A person who's family has practiced a craft for generations that looks like magick? Is it a person who sings or chants an incantation while stirring a pot for dinner over a stove in her kitchen? Perhaps it's a person who quietly mumbles every time she uses a broom to sweep up the floor or place soap in a washing machine. Or is it a person who commits to ritual for every sabbat and cross corner? Maybe it's only a person who casts spells within carefully constructed circles watched by the towers and graced by deity and spirits?
Silence is golden, does this also count as witching? What if a person only confesses to having done a couple of so called candle spells and has lost a job instead? Is this person a fake, a counterfeit?
Some say that being a witch is being a master of the craft. What then is the craft? The knowledge that rosemary is not only a healing plant but is also a protection herb? Is it a person who can call up spirits and soothe them with herbs and incense? And if a person can't do either, is that person no witch?
I wonder all the time about the modern movement that is called witch craft. I watch the online communities of witches, wiccans, magicians and crafters. I rarely participate because most fall into the same things that fueled the inquisition that is still fresh in my soul, judgment. Judgment out of fear, resentment, jealousy and pride.
If you say you are a witch, then lets see the proof? I remember like yesterday that one would never dare say anything about being a witch. Is a witch a being that was defined by that church who started persecutions, or is it something way different and if so, what is it today other than a new found freedom to say so?
There have been those who dare to define it for us and even dare to represent us in this modern world, and they've been short lived in the attempts. And so shall it always be so.
A wise one? Wisdom belongs to the old ones where in the young may find a teacher. So is she the only real witch?
Careful what we send out there, it will always gather an abundance of likeness and return to us faithfully for our pleasure or ill, it is, after all, a part of our self. This is one of the unbendable, unbreakable laws, be it called witch or any other name, it is the same.
May we truly enjoy our freedom and each other as the wheels of life turn for us all.

I consider the most important part of being a Witch when I initiated under the Goddess, but some don't believe in deity per-se, so is it my place to judge others who don't hold this view? It's a concept of picking and choosing battles here, bc if you judge the wrong person, your asking the Universe for their karma to whatever degree you ask (aka judge). Judging is the pandora a box no one talks about, or can be if you wrongly judge. With that said, I don't tolerate bullying and that type of behavior, period. That's what my Virgo self would allow to judge, and everything else is non-important.

Is kind, caring, smart, reads non stop. is very talented, thoughtful, Lovely, can be fat or thin, does not matter, ugly or pretty, does not matter. Its her character and stamina that matters, she does things. never sits and watches , is full of action. Also there are many Christian witches out there who are not wiccans, ...

.... Sometimes we loose ourselves and suddenly when we are ready to conjure or spiritually practice is something that no longer is who we are or where we want to be.... maybe what worked for us in the past no longer servers us and we need a new spiritual path with in the practice of it in it's self. We are constantly evolving and growing in knowledge and wisdom.

I hear some witches say you are born with it and others you can become one, it's confusing I think it takes a lot of work if you become one, it takes a lot of dedication, read books, learn your herbs by name inside and out, know the repercussions of what you are doing, don't do a spell because nothing el in your life is working for you, it's not supposed to be instant, you could harm yourself and others

I think it's wise that MirthandReverence is very careful about judging others- but sometimes it is important for those who are authentic and mature to call out others who are just playing games. There's no shame or wrong in using one's discretion. The whole point of having life experience is to teach us, and as we learn, we use that wisdom to guide us. There's an old saying, "first learn, then teach" - but nowadays, you've got so many RUclipsrs who are overnight experts and don't have the first clue. They cheapen things by telling people they are witches. A RUclipsr and Witch are two different things.
