Randy, I always enjoy your visits with the park rangers, the apple picking was interesting (they let Kayla pick and sample - nice). The pueblo restoration also very interesting to learn about. THANKS FOR TAKING US ALONG ON THE HIKE, . . . Mike
This might have been our second-favorite stop on the NM trip back in 2019.
We really need to get to NM. We enjoyed AZ so much the first of this month. Bad advice!!! DOH! Bears need that white bucket. LOL! I would fit right in at 5 foot tall. Neat procedure with the archeologist! WOW! Thanks for taking us along, Randy. Good tour!
Kay
Appreciate that, Kay! We were the same as many - kind of overlooking NM (especially when compared to the other "4 corner" states). Glad to hear you had an enjoyable time in AZ!
... the Pueblo People .... so interesting. The Park's personnel were knowledgeable and friendly. Amazing information ... using blood as 'glue' in buildings. You both conquered the ladders with ease. Thanks so much for taking us along! Editing of this piece was superb. 🙂👍
Really blessed by your kind words, Christine. Thanks and have a super weekend! :)
How long were you guys in New Mexico? Pretty awesome about how they used to blood to make the bricks! Thanks for sharing!
Believe it was about 8 days last July. We were able to see roughly 9 sites. Thanks for watching!
Instablaster...
I really love and appreciate how natural and real your videos are. Thanks for taking us along!
Now that is what really encourages my heart! Try to keep it that way - almost as if you are traveling along with us. Thank you!
Hit this one (along with about 22 others) on a 3 1/2 week road trip back in the fall. Spent 2 nights camping there, and absolutely loved it (my brain hated the multiple multi-thousand-foot elevation gains and drops everyday while we were there, but that wasn't unexpected, and I managed fine) - my parents had never had such good skies for stargazing, and the coyote pups raised quite the obnoxious ruckus both nights right at 10:30 p.m., just as I was settled into my sleeping bag trying to drift off to sleep.🤣
It was a very last minute decision to camp there, but somehow we still ended up with the absolute best campsite in the entire park (granted, it was a Tuesday - we were there 10/5-10/7) - very large, perfectly flat, almost perfectly level, and it was right across from the restrooms; I'm asking the new superintendent to turn it into a handicapped accessible site because it's already almost perfect (only a few tiny things need tweaking, and while I was able to work around those little things while we were there, I know that many of my fellow wheelchair users could not).
It's nice to see the upper areas of the cliff dwellings, because a wheelchair can't get up that high because of the stairs. Glad I found your channel, because it means I now get to see those upper areas close up, not just from far below.
Always appreciate hearing of other's national park memories. Happy to know you are finding the videos enjoyable!
Thank you so much for these videos! You're doing all the hikes that I normally do when I can travel. Binge watching during our stay in place order here in Colorado.
Wonderful to hear the videos can help encourage you and bring back some good memories! Thanks for the kind words and stay healthy out there!
You guys are making me want to head to New Mexico!! 👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks! It really is a forgotten state among many travelers.
National Monument + History = Awesomeness. Great video as always. Did you two have to climb down after the long climb up? Love the out takes at the end :) So funny
Appreciate your kind remarks, Jymn! Yes same way up and down. Thanks!
Thanks for another great video/commentary. Hit a lot of parks in New Mexico over the years including Bandelier, Pecos & Chaco. At Pecos, I had an neat encounter. I was approaching a reconstructed kiva. Just as I was getting ready to descend when I heard voices below & backed off
- soon, 3 young native Americans arose, 2 men & a beautiful lass. They glanced at me & one remarked, "hmm , white man!" paused and added. "red white man!" (I was very sun burnt). We all roared with laughter & I had another great story to tell. Thanks, as usual.
Bob, you lead the league in great National Park stories! That was hilarious!
This is actually the national monument I want to visit the most in New Mexico. Looks awesome and lot of great history there. I like how friendly and willing to talk on camera the park Rangers were. Looks like you guys enjoyed it and I appreciate the tour of the park.
Yeah, this is probably the "biggest name" of all the NM Parks we visited. Have a great weekend!
Hello Randy !
I don’t understand why I mist this one...and specially that it is very good video ! Love those places but never been there.
Thanks again for sharing
Hope you are having a wonderful week !
Hélène et Serge 👩❤️👨
Thank you very much! I hope both of you are doing well with safe and enjoyable trips. Enjoy the rest of your week!
Hello America's Park's, the videos of Bandelier and Petroglyphs National Monument were absolutely amazing! New Mexico has beautiful National Monuments and that incredible national park Carlsbad Caverns! I'm looking forward to the next video series.
Thanks so much, Al! About 1-2 more from NM and we'll hopefully then we will begin the Florida footage.
I've spent a lot of time camping in Colorado and Utah and New Mexico has been on my radar. Thanks to your videos I think that will be my destination this Summer.
Neat to hear! We've been unintentionally skirting around NM while enjoying the other "four corner" states. Great time out there - hope you will enjoy yourselves in these often ignored national gems!
Wow, now those are some epic trails! I have to find a trail with some ladders again.
Always love a little adventure on the trails! Hope all is well, my friend!
Been there. We did not climb the ladders. Thanks for showing me what we did not see. We really enjoyed it 😀.
We really enjoyed Bandelier too! Have a super week!
Very nice place and beautiful view!
Thanks for upload dear friend.
your video is so great always.
Have a nice week...👍👍
Thank you very much for your very kind words! Enjoy your weekend!
I appreciate when people post the month they are traveling. That bit of info is as important as the info in the video. Thanks
Yeah, good words... have been doing that on all my videos over the past few years. Not so good on the older ones. Thanks!
Bandelier is a historical site for us Pueblo people. I'm gald you got to explore the area.
This was one of our favorite stops on the New Mexico trip!
Very cool. I'm checking out all the things to do around Santa Fe as I'm going to be in that area this coming weekend.
Really cool! We stayed at Rancheros De Santa Fe Campground (in Santa Fe) for 5 nights and just did day trips with that as our home base. Enjoy your trip!
@@AmericasParks I plan to!
This place honestly has me excited as a hiker AS WELL as of a fan of good food!
Nice. I love nature and history
Thanks so much and so cheerful to read you channel title!
Wow!! that looks amazing. Reminds us the Notch trail in the badlands a little bit. GREAT video!!
Yes, very similar! Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
AWESOME!! lots of good stuff here, cool you got to talk with so many workers and rangers... always fascinating to me that we have this weird timeline of 1200 or so, no idea what happened to those people- and even less idea of what went on Before 1000 or so// thanks for showing us the Monument!
Yeah, it really was some "dark ages" - even darker when these folks kept no written history of their lives. The mystery makes it even more fascinating. You wonder why they did what they did. We can only make educated guesses!
Wow! What a neat place. I’m definitely going to have to do a trip to New Mexico to see all the cool stuff you’ve been showing in your vids.
Were the ladders hot? I did the Badlands notch Trail. Going up was not a problem but it was 99 that day & the logs were pretty hot on the way down. Also, do you go down the same way you go up? Did you have to wait awhile for people ahead of you?
It was hot that day, but I don't remember the ladders being too bad. Kind of similar to the notch trail - think these were a bit easier as they were build away from the cliff. Same way up/down, but not too many folks there that day. Thanks!
Americas Parks Great! Thanks for the info.
Another great hike, another great park and another great hat! Man that was a narrow walk up and impressive speed coming up that ladder, wow, what a view what you got to the top. Great job guys, cheers Alan
Thanks, buddy! Appreciate the genuine comment. Hope you are enjoying your weekend!
We’d love to get to this one in a few weeks as we pass through NM, but I’ve heard it can have quite a bit of snow this time of year. Love those ladders though - and the history of those buildings. Neat to see! Thanks for taking us along.
Thanks and hope all is well with the family! We had a great time in the often overlooked state of NM!
Man, those ladders we climbed at Natural Bridges were nothing compared to these! I just blows me away as to how many different sites New Mexico has and how individual they all are. I probably do research every day in regards to my October trip.I actually found another one called" Prehistoric Trailways national Monument"( BLM) literally right next to another one I plan on seeing. New Mexico seems to have more places with" National" in front of it then anywhere else in the country and they are almost all small little sites. Hope the trip down south is going well( or went). Looking forward to a quick meet up soon as I cant wait to show you what I have for you....take care!
Yeah, you'll have a nice time in NM! Just got back from Florida this morning. Great time, but didn't see any pythons. Hope for 4 videos starting in a week or so. Enjoy the rest of your weekend, brother!
Amazing!
Sure was. Thanks for watching!
I liked the blooper reel at the end. Nice video!
Had to get a few of those in! :)
Very interesting exploration of the pueblo dwellers there. Liked the out takes at the end too!
Thanks so much, Mark!
Another great video Randy! Awesome hat.
:) Thanks, Bryan! Enjoy your weekend!
That looks cool.
Sure was! Super people and a great place! Thank you!
