Amen! I've found this channel in preparation for a 3 week Utah and north rim grand canyon trip next year. This guy and his channel are wonderful. Closing comments are great. Really liked the part about Roosevelt and Muir. I've started a good book from Mark Kenyon about our National Parks, monuments, forests, and wildlife preserves. Its not political and gives you alot of history/background on them. We should all be enjoying and protecting them.
Love the video of you and your vehicle at the top of the Moki Dugway switchbacks. I've driven that road many times. The first time was on a National Park adventure with my family at age 15. We had just come up from Four Corners and were on our way to Natural Bridges. No GPS in those days and I was the navigator/map reader. I told Dad to take this state highway so we could get to our destination. As we approached the switchbacks from the valley you could not even see them, and I remember saying something to the effect of "how are we going to climb that cliff?" It was a great ride and became one of my favorite drives in the country. Now, years later, I have taken my family on that road several times from both directions, much to the dismay of my wife! I think going down is more terrifying than going up because it looks like you're going to drive off the edge of the Earth. Everyone should make that drive once in their lifetime! If you ever get a chance, another great drive is over the Beartooth Pass north of Yellowstone on the Wyoming/Montana border. You basically just drive over the top of the mountain! Thanks for your videos. Really enjoy them. Maybe I'll run into you on the trail someday.
Hey Andy, you seem like a great guy and I really enjoyed learning about your memories in our beautiful national lands! Neat to hear how you are making the same memories for your family. Did that drive out of Yellowstone when I was single back in 1995. Totally agree - and what many others have concluded - one of the best drives in America. Maybe we'll cross paths in the future!

Yeah, this one is not without its controversy. Much of it is out of the Fed's hands and back with the people of Utah. Still protected, just fewer restrictions.

Great area, great vistas. Thx for the beautiful drone shots. I drove from the Valley of the Gods up the Moki Dugway to Natural Bridges monument and I was totally out of batteries when I reached the viewpoint on top of Moki dugway. Utah is just outstanding.
LOve that you mention about planning and using your time wisely, very important in any Park and especially these lesser known areas// you can waste a lot of time driving around and easily miss the good stuff if you dont do enough research. Really cool you had a subscriber meet up out there, awesome drone shots WOw. Excellent Video

Wow! Snow already?! Our family just got back from our own NP /NM tour in the West and one of the places we drove to was Brian Head, Utah. When we left Las Vegas, it was 111°f and in Brian Head at 1,400 ft it was 59°f midday and chilly! and the low that day, on August 23,2019 was 38 but we NEVER thought Utah would have snow ALREADY! wow!!! We love your videos, btw :)

Wow that was good Randy. When i saw that Bears Ears was going to be a likely stop on this trip, I also thought about how I can speak of it but couldn't find the words. You summarized it perfectly at the end of the clip along with some great drone shots and commentary. Probably the most controversial National Monument there is currently. I feel very privileged to be able to visit these incredible places that are all part of Gods amazing creation. Making a new like minded National Park friend and being able to meet up at some of these spots over the last year has been a blessing. I know Ono will also enjoy this clip! Sorry for the late reply - just noticed this comment in my “spam folder,” lol! Thanks for the kind words. I am presently using a Panasonic G9. Before that it was a simple Canon point-and-shoot and Canon 70D. I also use a GoPro from time to time. God's best to you and yours as well!

That was one weired road, on that rock at the start lol. Amazing views from the Wilsons Arch and worth the steep climb up. Snow... in the desert... in summer...wow! Not sure if I would feel to comfortable staying in The House on Fire mind, another wow! Cheers Alan

Also did that dirt road ( # 261) that goes up and down Wow! 😳 Moki Dugway overlook ...My wife was going crazy in the hill ! 😂😂😂 We did the "Valley of the Gods" which is breathtaking! Really enjoying your videos. If you could help out your viewers with a couple ending tips, like need to be fit and strong, or easy for whole family. I have nephews I hike with on east coast trails (AT) but it’s nothing like west trails. So perhaps a level of difficulty, maybe even with a age recommendation would be really helpful as we plan our westerly trips. Now a little tip for you. Get a Jeep man, jack it up a few inches slap some 35’s or 38’s on it and not only will it expand your exploration but will help channel explode. Jeep community is huge. Thanks again and keep vids coming.

I've been going for the "vlog" format which is a little different than the "travel guide" - but no reason I could merge it a little. And as for the Jeep, lol because I own a Jeep - have been a Jeep owner since 1989 - presently drive a 2010 black wrangler. Good stuff, my friend!
We didn't camp in the park. We sort of drove in for the day and then hit a private campground a few hours away on the road to Capitol Reef. I'll be making mention of it in the next video. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
I love your hiking videos man. Respect to you and your family for all of those amazing adventures! I have a question, what video camera do you typically use when going on hiking trails. Do you use a GoPro? If so, what kind? Do you recommend GoPro Hero 7 or GoPro Fusion? I ask this because I would like to use one when I go hiking because I absolutely love hiking, it’s one of my favorite hobbies. I want to keep video footage of all my hikes for both myself and those that would like to see that didn’t come on the hike. Your videos are awesome btw, I’m subscribing now. My triplet brother and I both have a dream to travel to all 61 U.S. National Parks, and hike in every single one as well!!! Was introduced to the National Parks and then video work and then hiking and then the video production itself. Kind of all evolved over the years. Originally I just did it for fun to find a good way to preserve the memories for family and friends. Still enjoy it and looking for ways to improve. Hope you can achieve your incredible goal of all 61! The camera situation is another journey. Had a GoPro 4, just bought a 7. Love GoPro, but not a fan using one as my primary camera (just my opinion). Been using a mirrorless, just splurged and bought a Panasonic G9. Take care and God bless!
Wow, how did you get a permit to fly in a national monument? I would love to do it, but have not found anyone that has been successful in navigating the system.
Hey Dustin, a little tricky on this one. The National Monuments that are run by the NPS are illegal to fly your drone. But the National Monuments run by the BLM, you (often) have permission.
I visited this beautiful Nat Monument only months before it was greatly reduced in size. I was devastated to hear of the plans for fossil fuel and mining companies to come in. Regardless of who is in charge, I nearly always believe that conservation, not destruction, is the better choice, lest we be left without those natural wonders. Nearby Grand Staircase suffered a similar fate - another absolutely amazing place to explore. What a world it would be if politics left my National Parks alone! :-) PS lovely to see Bear's Ears get a nod on your channel, it's just magnificent!!
What's the name of the view point at the end of your video? I went to house of fire a couple of months ago but didn't find anything else around that seemed interesting, at least nothing I could get to with my small car anyways!
On the way to salvation knoll from mule canyon? Or was it before mule canyon... and I'm guessing you guys took a left hand turn since you can see the valley on the bottom?

Your drone is the coolest thing. Lovely footage! I took a Utah trip a few years ago and wasn’t able to go here. I went to grand staircase esscalanta (I don’t know how to spell it) and got a junior ranger badge from the BLM. I like the BLM because there really aren’t any restrictions beside don’t harm the park. Great video! Explore! Learn! And Enjoy!

It’s hard to find any information on Bears Ears and my friend Hal has been trying to get me to take a trip out there with him with before we won’t be able to anymore possibly. So for the roads that you drove on do you think a Honda Civic is fine on them? It looks like a very beautiful place kinda of off the beaten path. The House On Fire was really cool. Your drone shots were totally on point especially around the arch! I’ll be sure to send my friend a link of your video because I’m sure he’ll really enjoy it. I hit same kind of weather once south of Wilson's Arch! Did Natural Bridge's but House on Fire is on my list to see. Your comments on nat'l monuments is spot on. TR and Muir is correct. I have 2 letters to my great grandfather from Gifford Pinchott thanking him for his support when Pinchott was running for Gov of Pa. TR & Pinchott were responsible for setting up a lot of nat'l forests by law & also thru antiquities act. BLM land has always been joint use & agree both sides should try to work out differences. Sometimes its hard but compromise is often the right thing to do.
Randy, I think you had to go to a BLM office to get maps and info as this National Monument was only established by presidential proclamation on December 28, 2016 (previously BLM and US Forest Service land). It is so new, I definitely want to see it. It has been federal land all along, now as you mention, new controversy as a National Monument the usage is limited (such as to prevent mining). As you said, this has always been a debate as as was between John Muir and Theodore Roosevelt. Maybe in the next few years the National Park Service will establish a visitor center here, but thanks for pointing out how to get the map and cancellation stamp! For now, as you say, managed by the BLM and USFS. Looks like fun with your pals, and wild Utah weather. Those “House on Fire” Cedar Mesa Puebloan ruins are really fascinating, and a real reward for the hike. Now, I want to go here next time I am in Moab. I agree totally. I'm sick of seeing the destruction of forest and public lands being taken away. I'm also a avid wildlife lover and not real fond of hunting either. Live and let live. Where I live we have roughly 650 to 800 black bears they are a protected species that was hunted out of our state at one point. Now they want to possible open up hunting season on them again. I just don't understand the people that make choices for evetyone.
Appreciate your love for nature. "We the people" need to elect people that will begin ruling again on common sense and righteousness over ego and the sole desire for re-election. I'm thankful for those before me that preserved these wonderful places for me and future generations to enjoy.

Please leave the drone at home. It may add to your video but it negativity impacts my, and perhaps others enjoyment of the great outdoors. It may be permitted, but that does not make it necessary.

It was off the main road, I believe not too far from the entrance to Natural Bridges. Another one I wouldn't mind revisiting! :)

Hey Robert, a pretty special place. We went there as we departed from Canyonlands. It's BLM not NPS, so much less developed.
We won't be making the whole Bear Ears, but some of these sites are in our backet list this summer. Always, thanks for continuing inspiration.

Wow that was good Randy. When i saw that Bears Ears was going to be a likely stop on this trip, I also thought about how I can speak of it but couldn't find the words. You summarized it perfectly at the end of the clip along with some great drone shots and commentary. Probably the most controversial National Monument there is currently. I feel very privileged to be able to visit these incredible places that are all part of Gods amazing creation. Making a new like minded National Park friend and being able to meet up at some of these spots over the last year has been a blessing. I know Ono will also enjoy this clip! Sorry for the late reply - just noticed this comment in my “spam folder,” lol! Thanks for the kind words. I am presently using a Panasonic G9. Before that it was a simple Canon point-and-shoot and Canon 70D. I also use a GoPro from time to time. God's best to you and yours as well!
Did you park at the 102 marker on UT95 and then hike about 1 mile to get to the House on Fire? Is it well marked from the road?
It was four years ago, but that sounds about right. Main road and then a relatively short trail to the site.

That was one weired road, on that rock at the start lol. Amazing views from the Wilsons Arch and worth the steep climb up. Snow... in the desert... in summer...wow! Not sure if I would feel to comfortable staying in The House on Fire mind, another wow! Cheers Alan

I had a waypoint in my GPS for the "House on fire " but didn’t have enough time that day because we did the other part of Natural Brige ☹️ it is not well known by tourist.
Also did that dirt road ( # 261) that goes up and down Wow! 😳 Moki Dugway overlook ...My wife was going crazy in the hill ! 😂😂😂 We did the "Valley of the Gods" which is breathtaking!

Really enjoying your videos. If you could help out your viewers with a couple ending tips, like need to be fit and strong, or easy for whole family. I have nephews I hike with on east coast trails (AT) but it’s nothing like west trails. So perhaps a level of difficulty, maybe even with a age recommendation would be really helpful as we plan our westerly trips. Now a little tip for you. Get a Jeep man, jack it up a few inches slap some 35’s or 38’s on it and not only will it expand your exploration but will help channel explode. Jeep community is huge. Thanks again and keep vids coming.

I've been going for the "vlog" format which is a little different than the "travel guide" - but no reason I could merge it a little. And as for the Jeep, lol because I own a Jeep - have been a Jeep owner since 1989 - presently drive a 2010 black wrangler. Good stuff, my friend!

We didn't camp in the park. We sort of drove in for the day and then hit a private campground a few hours away on the road to Capitol Reef. I'll be making mention of it in the next video. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

I love your hiking videos man. Respect to you and your family for all of those amazing adventures! I have a question, what video camera do you typically use when going on hiking trails. Do you use a GoPro? If so, what kind? Do you recommend GoPro Hero 7 or GoPro Fusion? I ask this because I would like to use one when I go hiking because I absolutely love hiking, it’s one of my favorite hobbies. I want to keep video footage of all my hikes for both myself and those that would like to see that didn’t come on the hike. Your videos are awesome btw, I’m subscribing now. My triplet brother and I both have a dream to travel to all 61 U.S. National Parks, and hike in every single one as well!!! Was introduced to the National Parks and then video work and then hiking and then the video production itself. Kind of all evolved over the years. Originally I just did it for fun to find a good way to preserve the memories for family and friends. Still enjoy it and looking for ways to improve. Hope you can achieve your incredible goal of all 61! The camera situation is another journey. Had a GoPro 4, just bought a 7. Love GoPro, but not a fan using one as my primary camera (just my opinion). Been using a mirrorless, just splurged and bought a Panasonic G9. Take care and God bless!
Wow, how did you get a permit to fly in a national monument? I would love to do it, but have not found anyone that has been successful in navigating the system.
Hey Dustin, a little tricky on this one. The National Monuments that are run by the NPS are illegal to fly your drone. But the National Monuments run by the BLM, you (often) have permission.

I visited this beautiful Nat Monument only months before it was greatly reduced in size. I was devastated to hear of the plans for fossil fuel and mining companies to come in. Regardless of who is in charge, I nearly always believe that conservation, not destruction, is the better choice, lest we be left without those natural wonders. Nearby Grand Staircase suffered a similar fate - another absolutely amazing place to explore. What a world it would be if politics left my National Parks alone! :-)

Yes, we did. However, if I had a day at each location would have been preferable.
What's the name of the view point at the end of your video? I went to house of fire a couple of months ago but didn't find anything else around that seemed interesting, at least nothing I could get to with my small car anyways!
Wish I could be more helpful. I believe it was on the way to Salvation Knoll. I know it was a main road not too far from Natural Bridges.
On the way to salvation knoll from mule canyon? Or was it before mule canyon... and I'm guessing you guys took a left hand turn since you can see the valley on the bottom?

Your drone is the coolest thing. Lovely footage! I took a Utah trip a few years ago and wasn’t able to go here. I went to grand staircase esscalanta (I don’t know how to spell it) and got a junior ranger badge from the BLM. I like the BLM because there really aren’t any restrictions beside don’t harm the park. Great video! Explore! Learn! And Enjoy!

It’s hard to find any information on Bears Ears and my friend Hal has been trying to get me to take a trip out there with him with before we won’t be able to anymore possibly. So for the roads that you drove on do you think a Honda Civic is fine on them? It looks like a very beautiful place kinda of off the beaten path. The House On Fire was really cool. Your drone shots were totally on point especially around the arch! I’ll be sure to send my friend a link of your video because I’m sure he’ll really enjoy it. I hit same kind of weather once south of Wilson's Arch! Did Natural Bridge's but House on Fire is on my list to see. Your comments on nat'l monuments is spot on. TR and Muir is correct. I have 2 letters to my great grandfather from Gifford Pinchott thanking him for his support when Pinchott was running for Gov of Pa. TR & Pinchott were responsible for setting up a lot of nat'l forests by law & also thru antiquities act. BLM land has always been joint use & agree both sides should try to work out differences. Sometimes its hard but compromise is often the right thing to do.

Randy, I think you had to go to a BLM office to get maps and info as this National Monument was only established by presidential proclamation on December 28, 2016 (previously BLM and US Forest Service land). It is so new, I definitely want to see it. It has been federal land all along, now as you mention, new controversy as a National Monument the usage is limited (such as to prevent mining). As you said, this has always been a debate as as was between John Muir and Theodore Roosevelt. Maybe in the next few years the National Park Service will establish a visitor center here, but thanks for pointing out how to get the map and cancellation stamp! For now, as you say, managed by the BLM and USFS. Looks like fun with your pals, and wild Utah weather. Those “House on Fire” Cedar Mesa Puebloan ruins are really fascinating, and a real reward for the hike. Now, I want to go here next time I am in Moab. I agree totally. I'm sick of seeing the destruction of forest and public lands being taken away. I'm also a avid wildlife lover and not real fond of hunting either. Live and let live. Where I live we have roughly 650 to 800 black bears they are a protected species that was hunted out of our state at one point. Now they want to possible open up hunting season on them again. I just don't understand the people that make choices for evetyone.
Appreciate your love for nature. "We the people" need to elect people that will begin ruling again on common sense and righteousness over ego and the sole desire for re-election. I'm thankful for those before me that preserved these wonderful places for me and future generations to enjoy.

Please leave the drone at home. It may add to your video but it negativity impacts my, and perhaps others enjoyment of the great outdoors. It may be permitted, but that does not make it necessary.
