- In our South Beach, Miami South of Fifth & Joe's Stone Crab Restaurant , we explore the South Beach neighborhood known as South of Fifth located at the southern tip of Miami Beach. We visit this neighborhood during Spring Break 2021 and highlight the area's restaurants and visit the iconic Joe's Stone Crab Restaurant on Washington Avenue and watch as stone crabs are being cracked and served. We also try out Joe's recipe for their signature Key lime pie.

About JamesandKarla:
Hey everyone! We are husband-and-wife architectural/interior photographers based in NYC. We started our video channel to act an artistic intervention to help raise awareness of the importance of small independently-owned businesses and the unique character these shops add to the streets and neighborhoods of New York City.

We too were amazed how simple it really is and if you have a juicer it would be even easier and less time consuming. Definitely let your pie chill in the freezer (overnight is best) before serving it as it really helps it set. The key lime pie we made using Joe’s recipe honestly tasted just as good (if not better) than the one we tried from Joe’s Stone Crab. 💚
Great memoirs, I love joe’s my very first time was in 82 and every year me and my father used to go there, my last time was 2018, sadly my father past away and is not going to be the same ...

And yes although Joe’s Stone Crabs 🦀 claws are expensive, they are top quality and you don’t have to purchase the most expensive Jumbo size at 4 claws for $109.95 as a much better deal is to purchase the Medium size at 7 claws for $37.95 or even the Large size at 5 claws for $69.95 Even though you have to work harder to get the “meat” of the claw out, you get a good amount for the price. That is what we did and we also had the grilled Mahi-Mahi Sandwich with French Fries for $19.90 which also was extra good!

What a mess. Just going through the ghetto to get here was a nightmare. South Beach under a state of emergency. Cars being broken into. Burned and jumped on. Your better off going to Las Olas in Fort Lauderdale to LOBSTER BAR!
Yes we saw on the news all the trouble on South Beach and the curfew that was imposed. When we visited on Saturday eve the curfew was at midnight as things had gotten a bit rowdy the Friday Eve before.
Spring break is a madhouse. No distancing or masks. Free for all. 👎🏻👎🏻
Interestingly, metsphan1023 in this part of South Beach at the southern tip, there were no rowdy crowds and although many people were not wearing masks outside most of them were eating at outdoor dining tables. You can see the servers all had masks and inside Joe’s Takeaway everyone including customers were wearing masks except for the few people eating at the inside tables. We wore our masks for our entire walk and did not feel threatened.
