Thank you for showing me how to do this! I had the same water ingress problem in the passenger footwell after a drive in very heavy rain on the motorway. I have fitted the D shape seal from eBay. I don't get the same satisfying "clunk" but I did not fit the seal as close to the inside of the car along the bottom compared to you.

After two years of research I have found the source of the back footwell leak. It was coming from the front glass window on my Peugeot 107. In my case was not the rubber seal around the door but the sweep trim seal on the glass. Water then used to trickle in from inside the door and fall from the base of the plastic panel right on the top of the door seal, fooling anybody and leading to think water gets in from the door rubber seal. If you have the leak and do not remove the plastic front door panel you cannot understand if it is coming from the rubber seal or the trim sweep seal glass window

@@pauldavis9110 ruclips.net/video/pTDGavqUzlM/видео.html see this video. Watch how they use a watering can & trim tools, to open the window seal, to check the vapour barrier behind the plastic door card.
It's a quick way of checking without removing the door card

Thank you so much for these videos! my car leaked last winter but as it only happened the once I assumed it was driver error and me not shutting the door or window properly, it happened again the other day; I phoned Toyota garage they said it would cost £54 just for someone to look at it and tell me what I already knew.. that there was a leak!! I read online it was a design fault and that last year there was a recall I didn't know anything about this until I had researched this week about the leak, I am so pleased I found your videos on RUclips I can now show my dad them and hopefully he will do it for me thanks again this is really helpful and saves a lot of money :)

Hi, there's a slight difference with the appearance of the seal in video #1 compared to the method in video #4. In video 1 there is a gap in the seal in the bottom corner of the door underneath the lock 'to let water out'. In #4 the seal is continuous with a couple of v-notches. Please can you confirm which method is best. Thanks.

Brilliant tip, thanks. Have done as directed but still getting some water in. I think I may have left too big a gap around the bottom of the door. I'm a bit confused whether it's an inch or 3/4 as you say both in the vid? Would it work to put another strip inside the first to fill this gap?

Hi, my sister has an issue where by after it rains heavy, there is always a puddle in the passenger foot-well, is this because of poor door seals?

I just followed this video on my 107 and found that a 14mm seal came nowhere near filling the void between door and body. What I did instead was move the new seal from where this video shows, to the position on the door where it is opposite the existing door seal on the body. The 2 then sandwich together creating a tighter seal. Hopefully this works for anyone else having the same issue.

Done "sandwich", it's hard to close door now.

Just wasted 1/2 hr cleaning the door and fitting a 14mm rubber seal, following the video exactly. Instead of trying to put a key in the gap, why don't you try a piece of paper? The rubber seal doesn't even close the gap, I can slide a piece of paper in and out with no resistance. Not going to bother with the other three.
