The reason why the YoRHa androids cover their eyes is because the masks act as a visor of sorts that relays information to the android. Think of it as how Fighter Pilots wear helmets which have mounted displays on them.

@@DefinitivelyZach I mean the speaker for the council of humanity legit states that the humans retreated to the moon for safety since their species was in danger of going extinct. So it would be the absolutely dumbest decision to have their resistance fighters be humans considering the stated mere “thousands” of humans still left when they’ve got androids that can be built to fight for them. If they’re trying to prevent their own extinction, why would they risk fragile human lives fighting machines when there’s androids around that can have their numbers replenished through repairs and building new ones. I mean the twins are even stated to be the “maintenance” for the resistance as they were “healing” Lily. It’s all right there yet it seems to fly over all reactors (other reaction channels have made the same mistake, you’re not the only one) that are new to this series and haven’t played the game yet.

@@DefinitivelyZach but I don’t even need to know everything about the series… it’s like I said, the intro tells you everything you need to know about the situation, it’s just that you and the other reactors, for some reason, made this assumption that the androids fighting on Earth are humans despite all the dialogue statements stating otherwise, plus when the friendly machine woke up at the start of the episode and looked at the dead “doll”, it was a resistance Android dead on the ground and not a YoRHa Android as evident with the rifle near them as well as the rags/cloak that was on it, stuff that YoRHa androids don’t wear cause their whole thing is being the state of the art, high quality androids, and that shows both in their attire and the equipment they have with them. I don’t mean any disrespect, and like I said you’re not the only reactor that’s makes this mistake. (though I will admit as someone who originally played the game, seeing so many reactors make this mistake causes me to die a little on the inside because just like with the third boss in Sonic Frontiers (goddamn streamers), PEOPLE AREN’T READING WHATS RIGHT IN FRONT OF THEM!! Seriously, just deflect the spikes and jump onto the Titans hand, the game tells you this!! Sorry for the rant there)
Machines' lore felt kind of out of place to me. I mean, in game I kinda knew what they were talking about, adding a different angle on certain events or characters in the second play-through, but the anime didn't even have those moments for reference yet.

Over all, the anime is not subtle at all about 2B/9S romance. I sort of hoped "Weight of the World" will be in the ED. But I guess they are holding back with the good stuff for now. Apparently, next episode we will hear the "Memory of Dust" OST, look forward to it.

Lilly was only mentioned by name once in a side story in the main game and in the manga and in a stage play and the stage play is no joke 🤣 I translate it via google translator I hope you understand something 😅

Also we were just as blind about everything like you are now, and we were slowly learning more as we play forward.
