I got my tinnitus (luckily mild one) from 2004 Motorhead gig in Ruisrock, Finland.....
I got mine as one guy shot towards me with a shotgun.

It feels good to see this man is touched about his talent eventhough he isnt biggest fan of CoB. Im Finnish and Alexi was my only childhood hero and he brought metal to me and was the reason I picked guitar. This will hurt really long.
I still get misty eyed when listening to "Downfall." It really makes me sad to think that, if he didn't drink so much, he would be still be alive and kicking ass.

very likely wouldn't be a metalhead if i had not heard Children of Bodom when i was about 15-16 years old.. haven't listened to them really in years but it's a sad day for thousands of metal music fans.. so thanks, Alexi. RIP.

They have been and always will be one of the best and most unique bands. Alexi was an outstanding musician and every time I saw COB live, I had both: a stiff neck the next morning and my tummy muscles did ache from laughing so badly the whole night. Search for Children of Bodom Umbrella here on RUclips, Wacken 2008. Thats what I'm talking about. Been there and cried laughing. And this is, how I will remember and honor Alexi 🤘🖤
News article says he passed away due to LONG TERM health issues...so it wasn't something sudden like Covid or something like that. That said, the article also said that Children of Bodom disbanded in 2019 (which I as a fan, were not even aware of) and he, along with one other band member formed the band Bodom After Midnight just last year. So that was a short-lived experiment.
Ugh, I’m crushed. Haven’t listened to them for sooooo long but I grew up listening and seeing this band live in high school. They were a bridge to metal for many of my friends at that time. Every time they were so good live and Alexi is a fucking legend.

Yeah, the Dimebag vibes were all over Alexi's live performance, from the pants to the whole atttitude and the dive bombs etc, it was like Dimebag influenced a "classical" guitarist and Alexi is what happened(not that he was the only one behind Alexi's music but the influence was there). He was amaziiiing, shame that we had to start the day with such a gut punch......
2020 sneaks in one last gut shot. Already took Eddie from us ( along with Jimi, the reason I play and love guitar), and now my favorite modern metal guitarist Alexi. RIP.

Every CoB fan new or old, every metalhead should make themselves a favor and go buy Children of Bodom Live at Stockholm DVD. That's what's it all about. Rip Alexi, too soon. 😖 I was excited for Bodom After Midnight, line-up was so great and Alexi had found the fire to go on stages again. But nope. Death choose over life this time.

Everytime I Die ironically breathed sanity and life in me during my rock-bottom times past with emotions I’m so familiar with and so Children of Bodom will always have it’s own place within the depths of my memory.

Oh no. I loved those guys. I heard the band recently split. Have seen them live 4 times, one of the best live artists in the biz. Alexi in front always bringing his all. After I saw them for the first time in 2012, I made it a priority to always come to their shows whenever they travel nearby. This is so sad.

The name of Children of Bodom comes, when June 1960, three teenagers gets killed while they were camping at Lake Bodom in Espoo Finland.. Its still unsolved to this day.

If I had to pick 10 best songs from them I couldn't. Basically just listen to their first 4 albums entirely, to me especially Hatebreeder, Follow The Reaper and HCDR are just timeless unbelievable albums

Im sorry man but i do have to say something about the mentioning of Pantera. Try to listen to Stone. A finnish band from the 80's. They had the Pantera groove before Pantera even existed. Listen to No anaesthesia and hear the breakdown close the middle of the song. Very Pantera.. And again before Pantera existed. And btw the second guitarist in COB is Roope Latvala that played in Stone. Sorry for the rant, peace, love your videos
