- A little Celtic tune I made 3 weeks ago, maybe some of you remember I made a post back then that I composed a new song in the old-school style of Gaelic Earth for my upcoming Celtic album. I've slid into a bit of a tough time since then, so I'm glad I made the song when I felt good because I don't think I could have done it now.^^ I hope the song can brighten the days of someone else out there who is maybe also in a dark time, or to enhance the days of those who are already feeling great!

Having a rough time with my arthritis & eczema (due to the heat). This has cheered me up, thank you 😊! This piece of music reminds me of a little girl that I was a Nanny to a long time ago (1992) called Jane. She was living proof that wonderful things come in small packaging😊. She used to like the Faery artwork book done by Brian Froud - Good Faery/Bad Faery (all about the small spirits of England,Wales & Scotland).

I started to like celtic music by playing heartstone, the music is basically ambient pup music with a crackling fire, it was so relaxing and warmful

USAGE:
If your project (any project at all, movie, photography, websites, live shows etc.) is non-commercial, which means it doesn't earn you any money, then you can use my music for free. Only given credits are necessary, that's the only condition. Credits would be totally fine as a small text in the movie, website etc. written "Music by Adrian von Ziegler". In live shows and other projects where including a text would be difficult, an oral mention would suffice as well. =)
On RUclips and twitch you can also use my music for free even if you monetize your videos by the way!
ANY school projects have automatic free permission to use my music, no license payment is required.
If the project is commercial, meaning it makes money in any way (except RUclips and twitch, see above), you would have to buy a license for the music you want to use. The license payment would be small in almost all cases except for big budget productions. It would be a one-time payment, so you can use the music you bought forever in that project. It does not give you any rights over the music however, so remixing the music, re-selling it etc. is not allowed.
Giving credits is also necessary in commercial projects.
Please note that "for free" only applies to the usage license. Music is my full-time job and is where 100% of my earnings come from. So no matter what you use my music for, whether it's commercial or non-commercial use, I appreciate that you purchase the music instead of downloading it for free. Many people misunderstand this part so I need to clear this up. I love making music, but if everyone would just get it for free I would not be able to pay rent, so please understand. It was always my dream to make enough money to survive with music being my only job, and that is only possible because of people who go and buy that music.
Remixing, sampling and other forms of altering the original song into a new piece of music is also generally not allowed unless the remix is 100% non-commercial and labelled with the original title and author of the song (me). Adding bird noises, nature sounds or similar things are allowed. Nightcore alterations are also allowed while non-commercial and labelled with original title and author (Google "Nightcore" in case of confusion).
So if your project is non-commercial or a RUclips project, just give credits and there is nothing holding you back from using my songs. ANY song you want. =) If it's commercial stuff just write me a personal message or an email at adrianvonziegler@gmx.ch and inform me about the scale and details of the project and we'll make a deal.

Step by Step,
slipping throug a gap.
A lyra sound, mysterious light,
a path, trees and branches in sight.
Lights dancing in the distance,
against curiosity, no resistance.
Following the way,
a stonecircle invites to stay.
Dryads and Satyrs dancing to the sound,
laughing, while jumping around.
Some shadows in the underwood,
nothing to fear I understood.
After dancing a round or two,
I felt the urge in my wander shoe.
Going deeper into this fairytale,
yet to hear a friendly hail.
An elf in greenish flower cloth,
shy and friendly, both,
The other one, first I couldn't see,
him sitting high up in a tree.
They were trading with a mushroom boy,
magic moss for a laugh of joy.
The elves did accompany me,
to an ancient old tree.
There I met an old but friendly witch,
within a garden of flowers rich,
We shared a freshly cooked meal,
and she tought me about herbs to heal.
I left the tree and the witch behind,
curious what else to find.
I found a frog with a hat, and a fey,
in a strict version of a hide and seek play.
I enjoyed the fun by watching them,
and fell asleep at an old stem,
Waking up in the forest night,
I was shortly filled with fright.
But nothing was to worry here,
I found a camp of dwarves with beer.
They shared for a good story to tell,
I had some for them to sell.
After some epic story telling,
I heard some mystic channelling,
A druid circle, in a midnight pray,
invited me to stay.
In the forests heart,
of the magic peace a part.
Wonders over all,
a secret place of my soul.

Let me go back to 2014 when I installed one of my first skyrim mods ever, Celtic Music in Skyrim. I was infatuated with the music contained within the mod, to the point where I had to discover the source. My short search took me to Adrian's youtube channel, where I've remained ever since! Every piece on this channel is a testament to Adrian's brilliance, and still listening all these years later!

The “early” celtic vibe of Gaelic Earth you have going on brings back so many nostalgic feelings. The celtic music is so synonymous with you in my opion… I think many people discovered you this way. I look forward to another proper full celtic album. It will be amazing.
I really hope that whatever dampened your mood will soon pass so that you may continue to compose such wonderful pieces. This one is so catchy.
I have watched probably every Q&A that you’ve ever done over the years, but I don’t recall that you mentioned in what type of mood/mindset you are when you compose your music. I assume it changes a bit as you go through life experiences.
If I may be so bold to ask, do you “have” to be in a cheerful/peaceful mood to write the celtic music; and/or are you going through some difficult times if you write gothic/dark music etc.? Alternatively, do you need some time and distance from life experiences to process it before you can write music about it? I believe most of your compositions are artistic expressions of who you are (to some degree, but I may be completely off) even if they are “disguised” in fantasy settings etc.

Hey Dirk! Thank you so much first of all for your concern. About the music: My mood influences what music I compose a lot, but it can also sometimes seem counter-intuitive, mostly if I'm in a very depressed mood I will automatically compose sad or dark songs, and when I'm more cheerful I make happier-sounding ones. But it also happens sometimes that for example I feel deep sadness and I end up composing something very soft and peaceful because I yearn for peace inside of me and capture that wish in music so to speak, if that makes sense.

Your explanation makes perfectly sense. I assumed something like that. When you are in a happy or sad mood it is easy to make connections with sounds that reflect those emotions… But I can totally understand that the opposite can also happen, because if you want to lift yourself out of a dark mindset you come up with more positive sounding melodies to let in, the light so to speak.
I absolutely love your dark music. To be honest, even if it is dark and sad, I also find it contains an incredible amount of light, hope and solace within those compositions. Maybe its precisely because you seek the light, even when all around it seems impossible.
Luckily such times don’t last forever.
So with this in mind, even if I’d love another Mortualia and Veiled album, I would much rather want you to be happy and in a good place where you can compose beautiful and uplifting celtic music - it is equally dear to me… I like anything you do, really.
