Beautiful Japanese tank, and I wish it would be back in service for many more decades.

The Type 74 is also one of the alternate forms of Blitzwing in Transformers G1.

The tracks for the museum tank are unbelievably clean, it's shining god dammit. That's the Japanese for you I guess

The Type 74 is certainly an interesting vehicle. The unique suspension is quite interesting but the biggest problem is whenever a New Japanese tank comes out it instantly becomes outdated. Aside from the Type 90s which were and still are quite effective and the Beautiful Type 10. It seems this trend has been bucked for now though

I have heard that the type 74 is still supposed to be in service for a long time. The type 10 is a more commanding tank due to its advanced radio communication systems.

Yes Japan's biggest issue is the weight. Even the Type 90 has issues crossing most bridges in Japan. The Type 74 is extremely outdated, buuuuuuut its also only 36 tons and works well as support tank to Type 90s and Type 10s

Nope. Japan is lowering it's MBT fleet number to focus on lighter armored car formations. The Type 74 is already being phased out, and will be totally within the next 2 years.

Too nice video about type 74 Japanese tanks and clearly explaining of producing history of tanks during cold war and presence of communism China near Japanese islands 👍

Godzilla crushed many of these tanks. I would not recommend buying any of them. They are no good.

You can't buy any of them anyway, they are not for export. Japan is the only country in the world that operates type 74.

It needs to be replaced. Like it or not, it's outdated in every way.

Gate acting like the type 74 is a modern tank is hilarious thats like russians gawking over t-62 in a modern show.
