Pearl - I relate so much to you, as I’m sure many of us do. Trauma and repressed memories are really freaking weird. I suffer from PTSD after years of abuse and it’s astounding how intuitive the human body is - for it to just know (better than we do) that a certain trauma or memory is not going to be healthy for us, and keep it filed away in a safe place until we’re ready - it’s just wild. I still disassociate from my body and the world at times, because there seems to be an overwhelming amount of venom out there. People who harm others, who harm animals, who harm the environment and the planet…it really is too much to bear sometimes and I still can’t make sense of it. I want to heal the world and everyone in it, especially the way animals are treated by humans. I lose sleep over all of it, and it’s hard not to just break down on a daily basis. It feels like there is just not enough time to deal with the poison in this world, how we treat one another, to make sense of it, and somehow maintain peace within ourselves amidst all of it. I’ve struggled to believe that this is a world worth living in, to bring children into it, and I’d be lying if I said that I never considered leaving this existence of mine. The world feels so broken beyond repair. But, I remember the voiceless animals in the world that have no choice but to keep living, who don’t ask to be born but have to deal with the consequences, and me dying will mean one less person on this planet who cares enough to help. Life is weird, my friend. But, I’m so inspired by you and I’m obsessed with your home aesthetic / vibes as they’re exactly the same as mine. Walking into that house must feel like a warm hug 🪴

Even if this place is temporary or not truly mine, I will make it my home as long as I am here. If you can’t be comfortable then what’s the point of having things if you never use them. Congratulations on your new house and direction. I just bought my first new house in Arizona. I had to get a house that is small but was move in ready. I just have no talent when it comes to construction. You sound so peaceful. I think living day by day helps with that peace, along with some meditation and exercise. Very relatable! I hit my own rock bottom, got a house, went to counseling, and i think it has so much to do with finally having a safe space of my own that allowed healing to really start. It took my therapist saying, ".... Wow. You have a lot of trauma" for me to even begin to realize the experiences, impact, and adaptations from which i now have the correct environment to address. A lot of what you said feels like the thoughts I’ve been having over the past year and I think you would be a fascinating person to have deep conversations with. Like if people were open and receptive to it, they would gain so much from being close to you. Unfortunately most people don’t place value in inner peace or mental and emotional growth. I wish more people were like you, and did the internal work so that they could shift their mindset to have a more positive outlook on themselves and the world. And congrats on buying the house, the transformation looks incredible, and the amount of physical labor and design you put into it, you deserve so much credit because that’s really not easy. Thank you for posting this. Ive been sober for just over 90 days now, and find it hard to stay away from the stress and anxiety that social media causes. I was able to experience bliss in Kauai last September, when I accidentally dropped my phone in the ocean while on a boat tour. I haven't felt that free of stress and hate since I was a kid. This video has reminded me that I can do it with a little motivation and determination. Thank you, Pearl. ❤

The profundity of growth through self awareness is unmatched, honestly. I've lived in 11 states and so I know at least adjacently, how you feel. Being an insatiably curious person in my youth helped me make a lot of impulsive decisions that taught me a lot very quickly. Now entering my 50s, I still need travel and newness, however, stability and self care by way of healing trauma and breaking self destructive connections takes a front seat. Your home looks beautiful and you should be proud of your experiences and your hard work
I just wanted to say that you have been a hero to me in so many ways, and I'm grateful that you always strive to stay true to yourself. You're an inspiration to me, and other people who struggle with intense trauma. No matter what life has ever thrown at you, you survive, then thrive. About the fact that you constantly find change and want to reinvent yourself, I think we have to find a happy medium between change and stillness. If we don’t change, we can become stagnant and unfulfilled with the sameness. But too much change is exhausting and constantly uncomfortable. I think we should do what feels right in the moment ❤❤❤

Unfortunately miserable people feel entitled to bring everybody down with them and there are more miserable people than those who are at peace so it is inevitable that you will come across people on the internet who will try to tear you down. It's smart of you to try to create a community of positivity but maybe you should also take the tools you have learned and teach them to others to help equip others so they can deal with those miserable types out in the wild. The house is beautiful, as always your taste level is amazing, I didn't see him in the video but I hope you, your man, and your dog are thriving. Also needing to detox from social media is understandable, we all need to do it once in awhile to protect our mental health.

I bought it salvaged after my landlord sold my longtime home during covid. I am happy to have this place AND it comes with all sorts of unexpected issues all the time, the biggest being finding a place to put it but lots of other things too, including a lot that you mention (though I've never seen Bigfoot. Congratulations on your new house and direction. I just bought my first new house in Arizona. I had to get a house that is small but was move in ready. I just have no talent when it comes to construction. You sound so peaceful. I think living day by day helps with that peace, along with some meditation and exercise. Keep just being you, however that manifests!

Very relatable! I hit my own rock bottom, got a house, went to counseling, and i think it has so much to do with finally having a safe space of my own that allowed healing to really start. It took my therapist saying, ".... Wow. You have a lot of trauma" for me to even begin to realize the experiences, impact, and adaptations from which i now have the correct environment to address. I genuinely appreciate you being vulnerable and sharing this with us. A lot of what you said feels like the thoughts I’ve been having over the past year and I think you would be a fascinating person to have deep conversations with. Like if people were open and receptive to it, they would gain so much from being close to you. Unfortunately most people don’t place value in inner peace or mental and emotional growth. I wish more people were like you, and did the internal work so that they could shift their mindset to have a more positive outlook on themselves and the world. And congrats on buying the house, the transformation looks incredible, and the amount of physical labor and design you put into it, you deserve so much credit because that’s really not easy. I’m so glad I chose to follow your journey since I saw you on drag race. The amount of growth I’ve seen is incredible and I hope you’re really proud of yourself.

Thank you for posting this. Ive been sober for just over 90 days now, and find it hard to stay away from the stress and anxiety that social media causes. I was able to experience bliss in Kauai last September, when I accidentally dropped my phone in the ocean while on a boat tour. I haven't felt that free of stress and hate since I was a kid. This video has reminded me that I can do it with a little motivation and determination. Thank you, Pearl. ❤

The profundity of growth through self awareness is unmatched, honestly. I've lived in 11 states and so I know at least adjacently, how you feel. Being an insatiably curious person in my youth helped me make a lot of impulsive decisions that taught me a lot very quickly. Now entering my 50s, I still need travel and newness, however, stability and self care by way of healing trauma and breaking self destructive connections takes a front seat. Your home looks beautiful and you should be proud of your experiences and your hard work
I just wanted to say that you have been a hero to me in so many ways, and I'm grateful that you always strive to stay true to yourself. You're an inspiration to me, and other people who struggle with intense trauma. No matter what life has ever thrown at you, you survive, then thrive. That's because you're real, and good hearted, at least in my outsider opinion.

Focus and make goals for yourself and achieve them. Im 62 and ive learned inner peace is most important. I havent had a relationship in years and found i dnt need anyone to ve happy n get what i wNt n need. Do what ya want. When ya want .. get a daily ritual structure n stick with it stick with your gut feeling. aLWaYs. Glad to see youre doing well. U always look good so .. focus inward.

About the fact that you constantly find change and want to reinvent yourself, I think we have to find a happy medium between change and stillness. If we don’t change, we can become stagnant and unfulfilled with the sameness. But too much change is exhausting and constantly uncomfortable. I think we should do what feels right in the moment ❤❤❤

It's cool to hear you share your journey a little bit with us. Prioritizing ourselves and taking care of our mental health is so important. But it is hard to decide to jump into something that will probably be painful. And even harder to keep choosing it and following thru. It's unbelievably worth it, but it's not easy. At least that's been my experience, lol.

I envy the clarity you've started to find and your sense of purpose. It's a dark world out there and I'm sure while it seems you took a path with many insane obstacles most don't put themselves in the way of, you've managed to learn from every one and find the value of simplicity and tranquility. Wild restless hearts and finding oneself amongst the noise and chaos of this world is freaking hard. Living in a van as a queer person is a whole other level of challenges too!!
Happy to see you are happy. Unfortunately miserable people feel entitled to bring everybody down with them and there are more miserable people than those who are at peace so it is inevitable that you will come across people on the internet who will try to tear you down. It's smart of you to try to create a community of positivity but maybe you should also take the tools you have learned and teach them to others to help equip others so they can deal with those miserable types out in the wild. The house is beautiful, as always your taste level is amazing, I didn't see him in the video but I hope you, your man, and your dog are thriving. Also needing to detox from social media is understandable, we all need to do it once in awhile to protect our mental health.

It's wonderful to hear from you. Your home is lovely. You have many talents and skills. I live in a little RV. I am happy to have it. I bought it salvaged after my landlord sold my longtime home during covid. I am happy to have this place AND it comes with all sorts of unexpected issues all the time, the biggest being finding a place to put it but lots of other things too, including a lot that you mention (though I've never seen Bigfoot. Can't wait to hear about that.) Here's to putting down roots in 2024. May be it be healing and transformative for both of us. Hugs to you.
