Also, holy sh*t dark can draw and dark can draw well. I've always loved that sort of dark and almost haunting art style, but I've never been able to create it. Dark did so well, it's amazing. The emotions in it... It makes me feel so many things. Mainly sad, but also curiousity...

@@Teebaumol From what Nin said, it can be either. In some cases, it can mean that a certain separation was no longer necessary and a mental wall was allowed to be broken down. In other cases, however, it can mean that a separation was found to no longer be helpful and two alters were stronger/more capable fused as one. I believe Nin said that (sadly) the integration of Nina and Chloe was not a positive one.

@@randomperson1934 honestly the way nin pointed out the line on his forehead and then his mouth being crossed out.... the way I interpreted it was that he had so much on his mind .. and he appears as a shadow... because in his minds eye theres someone holding his mouth closed.. that's why hed take it out on chloe... idk just my interpretation..but truly makes me want to cry... he sees himself as a shadow because he feels hes not even worth a body if that makes sense... it factors into how hed tell chloe she was worthless and disgusting.. he sees himself as that, also factoring into being a black figure

@@owaowa_frogg488 often taps into our own self veiws or how we know others see themselves.. u know how difficult it is..because you've lived where u did not have a voice because it was taken away from u..or you're empathetic to those who have lived like that.. it's kinda heart breaking seeing how he veiws himself.. it's beautiful in the way life is.. the details can be absolutely amazing, but together they form a beautifully dark picture and meaning

Nin was originally Chloe(host at the time) and Nina(The sexual protector at the time), then the two merged to form Nin(host). There is a video on the channel about it I think.

Wow. While Dark is a persecutor, his interpretation of what he looks like is incredible. How you described him and how he sees himself was so on point. Plus, I have to give him props for using so many different brushes and techniques to get the effects he got. For being the first time using that program, he sure had a lot of fun with it.
Dark may be a persecutor, but the way he drew himself, I see deep pain. He’s covering himself, masking and hiding. I think he’s a very gentle soul who just sees himself as Dark. I hope that Dark becomes more familiar with the system and becomes more understood- I think that he has a lot to express and share, as all alters do.

I mean they’d be different, but probably not accurate considering that personality test did not consider neurodivergent people as having alternate personalities
@@spring.on.neptune true, maybe as the personality starts to shift, you can take a separate test for each of the alters (with supervision to know when to switch tabs)
@@creamcickepika14 thats a smart way to do it, but im more talking about the personality test itself and how its engineered. A system might also have other neurotypes such as autism or adhd, and the personality test itself does not take into consideration/is not built for the extra that comes along with those neurotypes. We’re simply a minority and nobody cares to try out their tests’ accuracy for people like us. :/

I remember when this happened to us. We’re casual drawers, doodling every now and again. But this one time, we were drawing and then an alter (name undecided) just kinda shoved us out of the front. Ari woke up hours later and they saw this _beautiful_ art of a black and lavender person(? It was kinda blurry). Trying to make art with DID is kind of like a blind collab!

Alice 5 maybe 🤷🏻♀️ I’m a registered art therapist, sometimes art is part of the process. It was interesting as he was playing with the different styles and brushes, he kept going back to his face, marking it out, making it darker, giving it definition. It’s almost as if during the process, he hasn’t really considered who he is, if it’s relevant to have a visual identity. OR he REALLY liked playing with the different styles and brushes. Only Dark can share his perspective on his art. But it turned out really cool!
I think Dark just hates himself and blames himself for whatever trauma he went through and thats why he is so angru and hateful towards the body snd other alters. I think he just blames and hates himself to a point where there is no changing his mind. Now it sounds depressng and it is but there is nothing that can be done about it. He is definitley hurting and not evil but just feels responsible for everything he went through and he reflects that onto the rest of the system. But thats just my theory.

Dark's drawing being "how dissociation feels" is freaky accurate in my experience. I do not have DID, but dissociation is a major symptom of my anxiety and depression and that is very much what it looks like in my mind. I call it the depression demon, and it looks like shadow whispering in your ear.

I'm fairly certain if Dark wasn't okay with people seeing his work he wouldn't have let himself draw while a video recording was going on. From the looks if it they're using OBS and OBS makes it pretty clear when they're recording. Plus, I don't think Nin would upload his section if he wasn't okay with people seeing it.

Dark drew himself SO wel. The process was like a story he was telling with the strokes and choices of brushes. I think this could be really good for you for him to express himself through art. He defenitely needs that and could use that I think.
I was going to say this too! Maybe if he fronted more often to do art it would help him to heal! I feel like it may be too hard on Nin though so idk. He obviously WANTS to express himself though since he basically was like "excuse me, pardon me, gimme the brush I got this shit" XD
I was thinking that, too. Art has been known to be very theraputic for people who have experienced trauma like this...I was wondering of maybe it could mold him into something more defined over time if he continued to draw. Like...showing people what he sees. I know that the personalities can change over time, but I don't want to be presumptive with that being the case for all of them, but it would be nice to be able to get to know Dark, so long as he isn't harming DissociaDID in any way when he is fronting. I wouldn't want him to front if he was going to continue hurting.

@@humanbeing8442 it's not complete separation of skills between alters, the brain is complicated. It blocks off different areas but some things intersect. DID after all comes from the same brain. Not believing someone with this amount of depth in their experience through her channel just translates to me like not believing in this proven disorder.

I don’t know why but dark’s picture is kind of scary I guess?
If you take a closer look to his face the left side looks sad and tired while smiling and there is like you said a line over the mouth. It could mean that it’s a fake smile.
The right side looks angry, very angry. (It’s hard to see anything else)
If you part the picture in the middle the left side (the sad and tired one) is more white than the other one, and right next to the face is like this “shattered glass” right next to (kind of in) the shattered glass is a person, the arm of that figure is held up (looks like that figure is about to hit something/someone). Then bottom left looks kind of like an explosion (I’m not sure tho).
The right side (the angry/furious one) is very dark that could symbolize “dark thoughts”. Next to the black “cloud” (bottom right) is this weird white space. If you take a closer look it will kind of look like an anchor. An anchor is a symbol of hope! So it could mean that even in a dark place is hope (since the “anchor” is pretty white)
The “cut” on the forehead could “symbolize” the thoughts nobody wants.
In general it’s a sad self portrait. It gives me the typical “bully” vibes: he’s very rude,mean and just bad to everyone. But in the end of the day he’s like that because he can’t handle his sadness.

If you huys ever get any chance to communicate with Dark, you should let him know that I and I'm sure everyone else LOVES his art style! It may be literal to him in how he views himself, but especially to an outsider, it does seem to be a very artistic and accurate depiction of mental health in general. I can't speak on if it's an acurate art depiction of DID as I don't have it, but as a person with depression, anxiety, dpdr and trauma, I feel it is an excelent pi ture to educate people. Well done mate!

He's a persecutor yes. Persecutors hurt the body and alters and do 'bad things' but that doesn't mean they are bad persons !!!!
They're been through horrible trauma and treating them like monsters and bad persons doesn't help them be better. Ruby is an ex persecutor and yet, she's as a fondamental role in the system, she's as important, she has as much value, and she's loved as much as others.
I recommend you to see their video on persecutors to understand better.

i actually was inspired by this video and eventually got some of my alters to draw themselves, sarah is very good at art, shes pretty much the most intelligent part of me, she did a university phd for me without me realising, her drawing of her is magnificent, and shes the "suit with a skirt and glasses wearing businesswoman" sort of personality, didnt like my worst alter lucians drawing, hes an asshole and drew himself as a sort of emperor on a throne, as i said, hes an asshole but in a well meaning sort of way, he likes to make people feel shit, only to tell them how to fix themselves. my littles are adorable, all they drew was my wife, who apparently they now see as a mother. charlotte is one of my other female alters, shes a bit prone to depression but is getting regular therapy. thomas doesnt like drawing, so he just wrote a description of himself and my third and final female alter is maddison, who just drew her favourite foods, shes a major foodie, and loves anything with eggs
edit: sarah is my protector, shes also the most dominant alter, i can only communicate with alters through written notes, and me and sarah once spent an entire day just switching and chatting with notes, i learned that she likes history, which is why she got me a phd in assyriology, her favourite music is chopin, and other interesting things

The use of shapes forming clouds around Dark reminds me of phosphenes, like what you see when you close your eyes and press on them with your fingers, only less colourful. The hint of yellow in the eyes among all the stark black and white is quite haunting.

Tbh i think anyone *can* but it takes a LOT of practice. I was always told that I was bad at art and I absorbed that a lot and recently I've gotten a lot more confident about it but I'm also recognizing that I'm actually just not trying to be good at art. It's not something I want to invest in. But I have been doing some embroidery.

I feel like the situation with how muscle memory works along with the fact that a DID system has a much more third person experience with the external world gives such a different opportunity for self portraits.

I am not sure if you realise that the person doing this video has Dissociative Identity Disorder (formally known has Multiple Personality Disorder) So they have multiple people in one mind. These drawings were done by a few of them, the first drawing was by Nin and then the second one the swapped a few times during the drawing ending with Dark.

Well there’s reasons why she wouldn’t feel comfortable having Dark on the channel. Normally a persecutor are alters who purposely harm the body, system, host, core, or other alters.
Not saying that this is the exact case for dark but a lot of time it can be the case

I love how Dark is just pure emotion, and how he managed to put SOMETHING in the piece. You know, THE SOMETHING. The thing that pulls you into a piece of art, but you cannot possibly put it into words, because it goes so far beyond all the concepts encapsulated verbally. I know you know what I'm talking about.

It's so fascinating seeing how the other alters see themselves. Dark's representative of himself is actually very beautiful in a way that is can't explain. The attention to detail, it's quite beautiful. Dark should have somewhere where he posts his artwork, I'd love to see more. (if he's comfortable with that, of course)
