  • Go big! We took a London to Paris day trip tour on the Eurostar train and back in one day and loved it! Using the Klook app we booked...⬇ More Below ⬇
    Until a week ago Stace had never even been to France, yet here we are back in London and trying to plan some travel, and Paris comes up. So we thought it's best to go big or go home! We found a site called Klook, spotted a London to Paris day trip tour and prepared for a big day of travel.
    The Eurostar train is super easy, but the prices fluctuate and it can get crazy expensive! Fortunately Klook secures a crazy cheap cost, comes with a full day tour of Paris, a local guide, lunch & champagne, reserved seats on the Eurostar AND helps you beat all of the lines at the main attractions like the Eiffel Tower by going into the fast track lanes. We were sold.
    Everything went super smooth, Paris is stunning, the Eurostar is so quick and comfortable and we ended up having the most amazing day going from London to Paris in one day. If you're trying to find a day trip to Paris from London, definitely check out this trip - geni.us/RSfzYr
    So is it worth going from London to Paris on one day only? Honestly we feel like yes! Paris has a lot more to offer than a day trip would allow, but if you don't want to waste hours flying, only have a few days available and want to get there easily with a guide or just want to take an incredible travel day as a taster - do it! We loved it.
    Klook offers a lot more than day trips, check them out here - geni.us/RSfzYr

    This was a great overview. I would skip the tours myself and just explore. Last time I was there in 1994 we went up the Eiffel Tower into the catacombs saw the Mona Lisa and left after. And snuck into Notre dame through the back door as they were about to close. A good trip.

    The French writer Guy de Maupassant hated the Eiffel Tower so much that he always ate lunch in the Eiffel Tower restaurant, because it was the only restaurant in Paris where you definitely couldn't see it

    I spent a whole day just hanging out at the Eiffel Tower taking hundreds of pictures and I noticed that it has many different personalities as the day passes on. The ambience and types of people change completely from morning to evening. Very fascinating place.

    Love this Paris visit, the first European city I lived in alone when I was just 16 (many decades ago :) Every time I've worked there since it's been a new experience. For me that's what makes Paris magical, the way it's always evolving from one generation to the next :)
    Thanks for this share, James and Kim

      @DanegerAndStacey  5 лет назад

      We've heard about the Luxembourg gardens a few times now and a croissant making class sounds both amazing and dangerous haha! To be honest, this day wasn't anywhere near as exhausting as we expected - with the guide, everything planned for us and beating the queues it was a breeze. Definitely agree though, have to return and see more now!

    A great way to get the basic feel of a place and then make a decision whether to plan an extended visit! Beating the queues at the Eiffel Tower gave you a major advantage. Entrance to the Eiffel Tower was way more straightforward when I went there in 1969 ha ha. If you do visit Paris again, you have to visit the Palace of Versailles. It is epic!!

    • @DanegerAndStacey
      @DanegerAndStacey  5 лет назад +1

      Ha 1969 would have been very different! Was there a security area in the outer perimeter, or just upon entry? Even when I went in 2000 I thought I was able to get much closer before security.

      @@LukeDamant Good question. 😆🤔 When passing Paris on our way south for vacation, we always said that we will visit the city eventually but never did. Reasons probably are the terrible traffic, limited time, the city is toooo big, no place for our campervan, the ocean or mountains were calling louder 🔊😂. Paris might well be the city of love, but it's generally acknowledged as the City of Light, or Lights, from the period of the Age of Enlightenment, circa 1715-1789. It's great that you went there for the day, and certainly it has its peaceful and glorious moments, but I'm not sure it's still a great city.

  • @shanes8631
    @shanes8631 9 месяцев назад

    A day trip from London to Paris and back to London is exhausting and a bit stressful to be honest. We did it. London st pancras was a breeze but Paris Gard du Nord was a nightmare, trying to navigate. An incredibly helpful tidbit is that check in for Eurostar is on the upper floor to get back to London and you have to go back through customs since Brexit. Our train back to the UK was an hour late and so we got back even later than expected- And that was taking the advice of taking the first train out, and the last train back for a day trip. In your day bag, make sure you have a change of clothes because if anything happens to that final train, you are going to be stuck in Paris for the night. All in all, I would not recommend a day trip. I would recommend leaving your full luggage in London and taking an overnight bag and staying the night in Paris, and coming back the following morning. That way, you get to see the Eiffel Tower sparkle at night as well instead of hurrying back to the train station.

    • @DanegerAndStacey
      @DanegerAndStacey  5 лет назад +1

      The amazing thing is free roaming in Europe now - we just used our Vodafone sims from England and they worked perfect. Then we sometimes buy a local one, to ensure we get the best speeds and cost, when the data runs out

    Just an advice of a French guy : if you want to eat a croissant, don’t try a croissant from Paul 😉
    You can find easily a better in a lot of real bakery.
    But, what is difficult with the croissant is to find the good bakery. In Nantes, try “la petite boulangerie”.

    Hi guys I’m 15 nearly 16 and I’ve had to prove to my parents I can be trusted and responsible for this but they don’t like to travel and they won’t travel st all. They wouldn’t used to even think of letting me go but when I’m 16 and a few months. My parents will let me go on day trips from where I’m from (London) to Belgium or France depending what time and if I can get back before dark. I’m so excited I’ve never been to a country in my whole life 🤣 nice video btw. What country is better in your guys opinion Belgium France or Netherlands :)

    Used KLOOK in Taiwan to go to Taipei 101... Very simple process... :)
    Much more food in Paris & France than croissant...
    (I had a 4 course meal in Paris in 2010 of Frogs' legs in garlic butter, Bœuf à la Bourguignonne, French cheese plate, and Crème brûlée)...
    What is the food at 8:38 ?? :/
    Fun fact: Paris has 1 of 2 McDonald's in the world where the arches are not golden...!
    Champs-Elysées location has white LED... Sedona, Arizona has turquoise...

    TRUE STORY!!!! Myself the wife and our 2 boys stayed at Euro Disney for 5 days in 2007. We booked an excursion with Disney to have a boat cruise down the Seine and to go up the Eiffel Tower. We got on the boat which took us to the Notre Dame. I said to the Mrs let's have a quick beer because it will be a while before we are ever in Paris again. So we went into a Cafe at the corner of Notre Dame. I can speak French (and German) so I asked the waiter for Duex Glas Vanilles (2 ice creams for the boys) et duex grande bierres (I basically wanted a pint) he brought the boys their ice creams........Then he brought me and the Mrs our beers (bear in mind this was about 1pm in the afternoon) the beers were 2 x 3 pint Steins!!! They were so heavy you had to pick them up with 2 hands!!!! Then he put the bill on our table which came to the equivalent of 37 pounds. I showed her the bill and told her that she had to drink it all because of how much we had paid but we had to be back on the boat within 40 minutes. So we both drank it.......On the boat back to the Eiffel tower I was singing Elvis songs to all the passengers and had the boat rocking, but then when we got into the lift from the ground to the 1st floor of the Eiffel Tower we were all crammed in, me and the Mrs must have stank of booze, but hey ho.........Memories!!!!!!

    Making our first trip from the US to Paris in Sept. 2020...originally the plan was to stay in Paris 5 days, but after seeing this and everyone telling me I can "do Paris in a day" I'm thinking about just going to London and doing the day trip to Paris....what other countries can we visit from London via Eurostar? Is there a trip to Amsterdam? Any suggestions for our first ever trip would be greatly appreciated.

    • @DanegerAndStacey
      @DanegerAndStacey  4 года назад +1

      Yeah we tend to agree - Paris is big, vast and touristy but you likely only really need to visit the centre on a trip like this catered for you. There's loads of options on the Eurostar, you should consider Edinburgh also, we just posted a video from there recently also.

    • @richiesquest3283
      @richiesquest3283 4 года назад

      @David Francis You can take the Eurostar from London direct to Paris Brussels Amsterdam Rotterdam and is a far superior way to travel than flying.
