I liked the original 80's cartoon but loved how they did the 2002 one. Keldor was a legitimate badass able to go sword to sword with anyone, getting the acid in the face was great and seeing Hordak grant him his life at a price was fantastic. It was fun to see him face off against the same threats the heroes did and since he and his followers were the underdogs in these conflicts you couldn't help but root for them.
another interesting origin for skeletor is portraied in the second german audio play, where it is revealed, that the preternian giants are responsible for skeletors existence in erternia.Skeletor is sort of the embodiment of all the evil the giants wanted to leave behind
Those “original” comics shown in this video are actually reproduced and re-edited. The original comic basically had He-Man getting his power from his armor. And Skeletor and He-Man had 1/2 each of the “Power Sword” which became a Key to Castle Greyskull, control of which made you ruler of the universe. The comic had Skeletor taking over Greyskull and He-Man fighting to remove him.
In a German radio play version of He-Man from the late 1980´s Skeletor originated from am ancient eternian civilization whose people wanted to get rid of all the evil going to destroy them. So they worked out a plan to transfer all of their evil into a dead body who developed his own consciousness and started to move. To get even rid of that creature they pushed it into "the winds of time" at the "the desert of time". That ´s how Skeletor traveled through time ending up in the eternian present where he met Hordak, got educated and trained by him and finally (after Hordak had left Eternia to attack and subjugate another world) founded his own group of villains trying to conquer Eternia. I found that back story very interesting and complex, especially for a radio play designed for children. Many other characters were also having great back stories. Beast-Man has been one of the most accomplished scientists of his folk before having met Skeletor and hiding an artifact from him. The artifact has been so powerful and dangerous that Beast-Man stole it and concealed his whereabouts from Skeletor. Skeletor tortured him to get to know about the location of the artifact and the side-effects of the physical torture and chemical interrogation (the drugs) caused Beast-Man to lose his mind and turn into the stupid creature we all know. Only during a few occasions Beast-Mans mind returns offering a short impression of the brilliant but evil mind he ones possessed.

He constantly had to compete with mightier villains like Hordak and King Hiss that would challenge his superiority. It was fun to see him face off against the same threats the heroes did and since he and his followers were the underdogs in these conflicts you couldn't help but root for them.
Hey this was a nice analysis, would you be interested in a He-Man fanfic?
I liked the 2002 version of skeletor. But the original 1980s series was the best due to the strong voice acting and amazing background score.....
Thanks 🙏. Villains need some love, too.! Great entertaining character the writers/creators developed.
To be honest I was never a fan of 80s He-Man but I did really like the 2002 cartoon and loved that Skeletor.
"Joke's on you! I'm *into* that shit!"

Amazing review. I am collection He-Man Origins toys and they are pure nostalgia.
Skeletor is love.
Frank langella's skeletor look was the best thing about the movie
Cool! Now do Hordak!
He man animated will forever be how I view him. Also that meme of him running away laughinh
another interesting origin for skeletor is portraied in the second german audio play, where it is revealed, that the preternian giants are responsible for skeletors existence in erternia.Skeletor is sort of the embodiment of all the evil the giants wanted to leave behind
Wasn’t there another story where skeletor was framed for the death of Randor’s mother and the whole thing was a manipulation by Hordak?
Skeletor’s my spirit animal
He-Man and Captain America being similar totally blew my mind
I must say i really liked this video since i grew up with the first He-Man as a child.
Also some stuff i did not know was told, thumbs up!
I roll my eyes every time I hear the word "prophecy" in fiction.
“Nyyyyeeeeeh!” (My best friend does a perfect Skeletor impression).
I don't know what you're talking about, he's even more charming as a skellyman.
I like his origin story back in the early 2000s.
Please keep doing these videos especially Masters and g I joe
It'll help with the script I'm writing to send to Mattel
This is a great way to tell his story. I like the one that got acid to his face.
What about the memes…THE MEMES??!!
Skeletor on the big screen will always be the best version
