Fun fact : Kunyo was Azula's firebending master before Lo and Li. She refused to follow his intructions because her improvised forms were better but Kunyo was insisted she should be doing classic firebending forms. So she burned his pants off and snitched him to the fatherlord. Ozai banished him to the colonies. There he got butt whopped by Toph and her students.
A moment of silence for Kunyo. He is hated by both the protagonists and the antigonists.

I really love how the comics express how Avatar is more than just a kids show.
It shows that its a deep world with deep political consequences too, and a battle of morality. Greyness all over.

Ozai's voice in this is almost spot on!!! I really like how the scenes between Zuko and his father were portrayed to make it look like Zuko was the one imprisoned, very nice!!!
That’s exactly what they have done originally when Iroh was in prison in Book 3 before Zuko made the choice of redeeming himself.
I loved it too, and I was also screaming at the screen "ZUKO GO TALK TO IROHHHHH"

The voice actors did a fantastic job - especially Jakob Dillon (Ozai) and Cade Watts (Zuko). They sound so much like Mark Hamill and Dante Basco, respectively! I also love the background sounds which makes this really immersive. Really well done!

I know a lot of people don't like this part of the comic... but i still enjoyed it , tophs students starts as a bunch of idiots but they shine in later comics ( the rift and even in the tophs metal bending academy) and holy crap tophs voice actor in here did an amazing job good job 👍🏻🙂👍🏻 .... also this is canon 26:12 and you cant change my mind

Toph is a badass, so with this rare glimpse into her more vulnerable side, I knew it needed to be given proper due. Also massive shout out to our AMAZING directors. 💖

Imagine what we could have gotten if Netflix had decided to spend the money for an animated adaptation for the Comics instead of whatever the fuck this live action abomination is ... my life would have been fulfilled
@@Hunnystuff With the budget of that live series, we could have 6-7 seasons of masterpiece. No wonder why original creators left the live series, it has no soul of original, it feels like it is made by some bunch of marketing dep guys that just imitates original animation. Apart from that, Netflix’s avatar doesn’t add a shit to the lore, instead it changes it in a bad way.

It honestly just feels like they were out for the money because ATLA has such a huge fanbase and they just utterly destroyed nearly all the characters- even Momo's live action version feels weird. And Katara and Sokka in the lovers cave was just?? If they know they can't add anything to the lore at all (and are not able to understand the characters), they should have just sticked to the amazing template they had with the original series- or make a whole new story abt Kyoshi or Roku or whoever... I'm so sad that even after all those years we just can't get the animated version of the Comic, it's such a shame. Pretty sure if the money was there, everyone would be on board to make it happen!

Zuko later says it’s because Iroh was enjoying a peaceful life running his tea shop in Ba Sing Se, and Zuko felt guilty disturbing him.
Even so, he would’ve been a better choice than Ozai, Zuko!
I guess it’s in character for him to doubt himself and not always make the best decisions because of it…
This is super interesting because it’s so relevant to the situation my country may be in the future. Israel took our homes but for the past 70 years, they’ve made it one of the fastest developing countries. It’s interesting to see what would happen if our cause won. What we would do with the Israelis. Kick them out or live together as one despite the challenges. Colonies are super complicated.

Man everything about this is almost perfect. The voice acting, music, visuals, but some of the voice actors sound like they're using their nokia phone shoved inside 8 layers of socks for recording their lines, It's a real shame because they are truly skilled and talented, they delivered their lines flawlessly. Still though, this is infinitely better than reading it.
I can assume this is more a passion project rather than a practical business though, especially with the copyright nightmare that this probably goes through. This truly makes me feel like I'm watching a season of ATLA that I never heard about. I never will read the book, tbh. TYSM for this and I hope everyone who's worked/working on this knows how talented they are.

We apologize about our early microphone issues. When we started this project, some of our actors had lost housing and stability due to the pandemic so we made use of what we had.
Fortunately, we have been trying to clean up audio quality and make sure our actors have access to better microphones and recording equipment.
So good job at this. Its like watching the show itself
