You know what I find interesting about theme parks? It’s the fact that we go there to have some of the most thrilling and scary experiences in life, and sometimes, we even repeat, as if we can’t get enough of that. Isn’t that a bit crazy? Shouldn’t we be looking for more relaxing and slow experiences to escape the routine and stress of everyday life? Nah, I don’t think so! Amusement parks can be extreme, but they surely put a smile on our faces. And the more thrilling a ride becomes, the more we’ll enjoy it. Today we’ll be looking at the “10 most insane amusement rides around the World.” We’ll be looking at roller coasters and water park rides that have given us some of the most exciting and at times...life changing rides ever. Watch out, because some of them pushed some boundaries, to the point that some of them had to close down for good. Can you imagine the reason? You’re about to find out...
The Skyscreamer

The name of this ride speaks for itself. The skyscreamer is technically that...a ride that will take you up to the SKY and make you SCREAM at the top of your lungs. If you want to challenge your fear of heights, then this is a ride for you. But if being at 400 feet above the ground makes you anxious, then you’ll want to stay away from this! You can find this ride in two famous parks in the States. There’s the Texas Skyscreamer at Six Flags over Texas and there’s the New England Skyscreamer at the Six Flags park in Massachusetts. Both are tall, and they both hold the Guiness World Record as the tallest swing carousel rides in the world. Now, I know what you’re thinking - carousel swing rides are not really thrilling. But that’s only if you stay close to the ground. Trust me, when you’re 400 meters high spinning at 35 miles per hour on a skimpy chair, you will know that this ride is not for the faint of heart.

Speaking of swings... there’s a more extreme ride and you can find it at the Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park in Glenwood Springs, Colorado. This is a pendulum ride and it can move up to four passengers back and forth, in what seems to be the longest and most intense swing ride ever. If you were one of those kids who loved going on swings, hoping to one day lift yourself high above the ground, then this ride is for you. At some point, you could be swinging at a speed of 50 miles per hour while challenging the laws of physics as your ride sets itself into an almost vertical position. And I know you’ve probably seen rides like this one, but I doubt any of them is in a place like Colorado. This Canyon Swing is right at the edge of a cliff, and it swings out 1,300 above the famous Colorado River into a canyon, which honestly, only adds to the thrill of it.

Insanity is described as a mind-bending experience. And why is that? Well, just look at it - it makes its passengers spin while being in their vehicles at the tip of this ride that looks like a claw. And, to make things more interesting..and thrilling, this ride is not necessarily in an amusement park. Instead, it’s at the top of one of the craziest high buildings in Las Vegas: the stratosphere tower, which is almost 900 feet tall, which is roughly the size of a 60 story building. But as the ride swings away from the tower, the riders can experience views from a 90 story building perspective. So, if you want to have an experience in Las Vegas that’s different to the casinos, this might be a good choice. Just keep in mind that you will be stepping into one of the tallest rides in the world. So make sure you can handle that.
Drop of Doom

Oh man, who would want to step into something that’s called the “Drop of Doom”? Well, actually...I can imagine that a lot of us would like to give it a try, even if it implies that we will literally be dropped into one of the scariest moments of our lives. The Drop of Doom is a ride that you can find in two different parks in the States. There’s one at Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey, and there’s one at Six Flags Magic Mountain in California. By the way, the one in California is called “Lex Luthor: Drop of Doom.” And I can totally see how adding the name of a famous villain reinforces the idea that things in this ride can be unpredictable and even risky. These rides are attached to other rides that are tall

I went on the cannonball loop at Action Park decades ago when I was a wee kid. As long as you did what you the ride operator told you to do…..you were perfectly fine. I went on it several times. It was awesome.
You shouldny be able to get hurt in an amusement park ride even if you're unable to follow instructions
If you don't follow instructions you can easily get hurt. People not following instructions is a very big factor in many amusement park accidents.

All of these rides are sooo, crazy! I am already scared of roller coasters, but I can’t even imagine going on these rides! I do not know how people do these rides? The craziest one I saw, was the one where they threw people into that giant net, I am definitely never ever, doing any of these rides! 😳

I went on the Giant Canyon Swing when I was about four. Scariest experiance for the tiny child I was back then, but I did go on it two or three times! I would love to go back and be swung over the edge of the cliff again :)

I’ve been on the Giant Drop (Tower of Terror) in DreamWorld, Australia. It is only 10feet shorter than the Drop of Doom one in this video. Scary stuff. But also fun. I couldn’t even breath when we were dropped (trust me, I tried. Even tried to scream but couldn’t.😅).
There was also one ride which had to get closed down because it managed to kill a whole family (and it wasn’t even one of the big thriller rides). It was called something along the lines of Rapid River Raft. I went on it and, aside from my fear of water back then, it wasn’t really scary.
I've done the Stratosphere skyjump, at night. However it's not from the top like the video claims, it's below the other rides. it's an 855 ft jump, they said the other ride at the top was 900 ft up...
They must be mad.

The whole water loop had an issue where some weren't making it all the way around the loop and dropping onto the upper part of the loop. They installed padding but then people were coming out with strange cuts, and here people's broken teeth were getting caught in the padding and cutting people.

The only heights I can stand without a nervous breakdown are those with jet engines attached to them, I did maybe 3 tall amusement park rides in my life and that was it.
In 2015 after I finished online school. I rode on the cyclone roller coaster at Galveston Pleasure Pier. Whenever it went upside down, I prayed to god and held on to the handle bars for dear life so I wouldn’t fall into the ocean

People love roller coasters and rides and always thought a slingshot ride looked fun but now never want to go on one able hearing about the cable breaking!

You left out the absolute most frightening ride of all. That would be Mason Wing Walk in Sequim Washington. You climb out of a plane in flight and stand on top of it while it loops and rolls.

Nope that’s not true. There’s rollercoasters that are extreme that have lap bars and there are mild rollercoasters that have over the shoulder restraints
i dont mind to try all of those except the number 2. i wont risk my life for that one.
I would recommend quazi amusement park and water park rides they are crazy like the woodland warrior and tidal wave are both crazy
I was really disappointed not to see a loop coaster that actual catapults you to the other side of the loop. Looks safe.

I live really close to six flags here in Texas and the sky screamer was relaxing and I personally liked being up high where I have an awesome view and spinning it is just fun not scary

I went on the sling shot and wild mouse in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, 2023. It was a mind blowing experience. I don't think i can attempt any of this crazy rides again.
Unfortunately, Tatsu was not mentioned at Six Flags north of LA.. it definitely much more intense than the X2 ride!
