Unless Movistar is chasing and trying to pull back Carapaz their hearts are just not in it. Carapaz's pain face was done to confuse the Movistar DS watching on race TV.
Carapaz uses that "I'm suffering tactic" all the time. Being taken by his "boy crying wolf" behavior should be well known by now.
@@jayobannon5359 Might just work again.
@@jayobannon5359 That’s exactly what I came hear to say!
Like Pogis "smiling all easy face" before he got dropped
@@vincentkrause7097 Pogačar smiling to the camera and doing a bike handle gesture was like that "This is fine" meme
6:53 The look at the scenery from Remco cracked me up 😂
Remco said his bike was more damaged than he was, something most self-sponsored amateurs and week-end riders would cry over!
Especially considering the price of that S-works
The body repairs itself over time. Bikes don't :'(
@@william6171 Smart Bikes will repair themselves, if you live long enough you will see it
@@savagepro9060 sounds heavy
@@richardtickler8555 the prototype? Yes, production-wise, uh, no
Ayuso vs Rodriguez reminds me somewhat of Pinot vs Bardet in their early days
It's been really great to see the development of your channel and your videos. The videos have always been very good, but lately you've been nailing it! I like how you notice some interesting small details of the race that nobody else does, and of course the clever humour is very clever. Please don't let that go to your head, though. We need the best that Lanterne Rouge has to offer. Cheers! 😎
Lanterne Rouge here again to clean up after GCN!
GCN coverage is not even worth watching.
Creampie clean up crew
He did the same thing in last years TDF and attacked, and then Pogacar rinsed him. It was priceless
Carapaz always pulls the rope a dope play when he's preparing to attack. When he doesn't have the legs he'll just fade away when someone else ups the pace. He's the best actor in the peleton.
Lol RC , should go
To the academy award 🥇 the brilliance 😅🚴♂️💪💪
The funny thing it’s they actually believed him since he hasn’t been winning anything lately. At the end of the day a stage win is a stage win, good job Carapaz.
Lmao carapas goin to low for his ambitians
WORLD CLASS Richard CARAPAZ #1, He's THE BEST, Proud TO BE ecuadorian.
"Altitude" is above the ground, "elevation" is above sea level. Great coverage, LR!
"Carapaz is nominated for an Oscar"... that comment just made my day
OSCARapaz
Richard Carapaz is the MASTER of fake suffering....and very smart. Great win!
Great analysis of the Movistar move 2,5k to the finish 👌👌
"Shit happens" --Remco. Words to live by.
Carapaz is well known for his “I’m in agony” histrionics. He ain’t fooling anyone in the peloton.
He’s a clown
Fooled kelderman
Won another GT stage by doing so. Seems like he fooled some of the best cyclists in the world, yet again
"Call an ambulance... But not for me!"
@@88kingabe gosh i hate that guy lol
Movistar with words "poorly executed", I am shocked!
No one looks like he enjoys attacking on a climb more than Carapaz. Kelderman had a great day and is on the fringes of the GC now considering we don't know what Evenepoel is going to be feeling in the next couple of days.
Love the shake of the head and smile from the Arkea rider (Gesbert?) at 03:38
Saw that, it was Gesbert 🤣
as a casual cycling fan from Slovenia (obvious reasons lol) I really appreciate these videos.
Ayuso's way of riding a bike reminds me very very much of Pogacar
Your analysis is leaps and bounds ahead of any other channel. So good…
Sucks to see Flacco go down like that, might be the opening Roglicberger needs to come back
Yes, agree, when youve got a two year contract in your back pocket. As King Kelly says "You can play the card"
Splendid stage victory for Carapaz who seems to be threatening Van Evenpoel now! 💙💟❤☮️☯️
Richy has the best poker face cyclist of World Tour
He always does this, Carapaz. Quite a tactic. Congratulations mate.
Love this channel! So much detail. Carapez put on the poker face!😂
Great ride by Carapaz. Remco playing with GC riders.
He also did just that on Mikuni pass during the Olympics race last year
Marlon Brando, Al Pacino, Denzel Washington, Daniel Day Lewis.... Richard Carapaz.
Such a shame Landa wasn't there to do his Carapaz impression.
Landa is resting face guy! Don't touch him.
Excellent analysis.
Carapaz did the same in a 2021 tour de france mountain stage, but that time Pogačar and Vingegaard gave him a fair punishment.
And giro stage 17 but landa called his bluff
@@henrikf0507 but at the Giro he didn’t actually have the legs to win. Not even a stage.
@@sibienf686 well, on blockhaus he was close and in the last week he was given no oppurtunity as the break won all mountain stages
The thumbnails are clearly improving, good job
your analysis are really clear and easy to understand, thanks a lot for that! love your channel! I was also thinking on the moment of 5:30 you would want to hit the hammer there. But the problem is that even though you would give a small gap, the flat sections will be able to jump back in the wheels in front of you.
I remember carapaz doing almost the same move in tdf 21' when he was in a group with vingegaard and Pogacar.
love carapaz and his acting. also love jumbo and whoever else can pacing to see if remco has it today. got to try a little, you never know! it will work one day is my hope. it will work!
Why did I hear "Joe Flacco" at the start 😭
This is his go to move
oh no he did it again😂
Carlos rodriguez is great on the long steady climbs but very much lacks a sprint at the finish hence the 11 second time loss
Remco ripped his shorts just to save weight. Wow!
Why was ayuso wearing white jersey and not rodriguez? Rodriguez ahead on the youth classification surely.
I´m not sure but I think it has something to do with Rodriguez having the Spanish national jersey and therefore he can wear his champion jersey instead of a "borrowed" classification jersey.
Hmm that crash will likely make Remco a bit sore and stiff tomorrow but fortunately its not a GC day. Very peculiar parcour - flat and dusty and hot and then straight up for 20km at 6%
Nah. He will be on their level lmao
Not a fan, but I gotta give respect to Carapaz, he is always a smart racer 🫡
Definitely don't give him a fan, lest he back into it, as did Remco.
Haters will always hate! You need quite more than a suffering face to win a grand tour stage! Good job Richard!
Jumbo, in their “Plan B” video, specifically warn Jonas about Carapaz feigning weakness and then attacking.
"Carapaz fakes" series is LR's new "Movistar Dysfunction" series.
Do we know why Ayuso is wearing the White Jersey when he is 3rd in the standings? Surely Rodriguez should be wearing it on behalf of Evenepoel?
Tbh i only clicked on the video because i had to laugh bc of that tbt OG TDF 2021 stage 17 (i think) title
A pro poker player would love to have Carapaz as a team mate. Let's say he gets a great pair of an ace of clubs and an ace of spades.
You are the best Ty.
Loving your coverage and the analysis of the key moments is brilliant! The highlight (in a disturbing way!) from this video is seen at @6:25. What in holy heck is that spectator wearing!?!? 😱
That's an optical illusion fucking with your mind. His partner's legs are merging with his, so you're getting the back of her short shorts merge into his below the knee shorts. Someone else has also pointed their nervous looking dog cowering under the barrier.
Another awesome recap LR👊👍🇦🇺
When Carapaz looked back, I think Kelderman was laughing about it, but I am not sure. He appeared amused or in pain.
Love the breakdown LR. Any chance tire selection played into the fall of Remco? The falls he and Alaphilippe had are too similar to me to think it was simply just "rider error."
tour of spain stage 12 a training day for tactics.
Carapaz's "pain face" looked real after he passed Kelderman. Pain face and fake struggling didn't work in 2021 TdF stage 17 - Pogacar crushed him. Happy though that he won the stage today. Great rider representing Ecuador. Would raise his stature if he stops acting.
I love cycling
Nice sense of humor, what's the Deal of racing and NOT SUFFERING, this Sport is About To give ALL You Can, Can't Fake it, YOU Should TRY IT, then you can criticize, Carapaz IS THE REAL DEAL.
The s in Gesbert is silent you can read it as Gebert
People are gonna start asking what tires Quickstep is using :)
Are you Wacko for Flacco?? What's with all the Baltimore Ravens references???
Vuelta Cyclocross Espana 2022 not the worst. Even tho the stage profiles are kinda boring this year.
Stop the hate, not one person here can climb the same way without a facial expression of pain. Be happy for the effort and intelligent to out beat the rest. But he won, so this channel looks for a reason to says why. If he faked it, then what does that say for the rest that allow him to do it twice. Think about it.
I just don’t like the way Carapaz rides. He tried this at the 2021 TDF and JV and Pogo knew it… He will fit in at EF where he will have to act like he is a GC rider
I’m worried about him at EF. They all ride like GC riders, invariably have some difficulty in the first week, “intentionally” lose enough time so they can infiltrate the breaks, then don’t get in the breaks
Jaguars are very expressive animals!
expensive cars too
MOVISTAR WTF? If Oliveira goes full gas and Mas than attack (Evenepoel, Rodriguez and Ayuso free wheel), Roglič never caught them...
I still say stage 14 or 18 for Jay Vine, not this stage
Brilliant analysis and fun to watch-videos, but can you speak a bit slower please? Almost impossible to understand for a non-native speaker like me.
Not sure if Carapaz was faking or just practice the good old wisdom of "if someone has the incentive to gain time on GC, just let them lead the way". Kind of felt you read too much into Carapaz's facial expression. But on the other hand no harm building a little bit of myth about Carapaz.
I think it was this. I don't think Kelderman was as bothered about the stage win as making up the time on GC and not going too deep trying to chase it.
Just like last year. Despicable
so is the second time i see this comment about Carapaz, I think maybe you guys like to see that every cyclist have a screen in the back showing all the vitals to ensure they are not acting?
BUT IS HE ELITE?
[edit: nevermind, Rojas was in the break]
LR, you might drop some numbers while commentating (group going at X kph at Y% gradient ---> Z% of power needed to overcome air resistance).
air resistance isn't really your concern when climbing
@@stefanjoeres7149 lol
@@stefanjoeres7149 seriously - air resistance depends on speed (amongst other things). Usually, people like you and me are climbing so slow, that only a very small fraction form the resistance you experience comes from air resistance. But the pros ride up the mountains at 30kph or more at times. And at that speed, drafting matters a lot.
Wait what is the Joe Flacco thing about?
Maybe referencing him tearing his ACL in 2015?
classic carapaz
Bicycle
that fucking dog at 6:25 - i screm
"Carapaz is nominated for an Oscar"... Uh Oh, here comes a Chain-Slap at the Oscars!
Carapaz DOPING TEAM 🤕 😩🤡😩🤡
Richard Cara-pain-cave. Not real. About to attack.
Another Hollywood performance by el Jaguar
mas is the man to beat not roglic for evenepoel
fucking assassin i love it
Cant really put my finger on why but I just strongly dislike carapaz for that kinda riding. Which is weird because its all in the game. But I still find myself wishing he doesnt succeed with it when he does it
Typical caraspaz...could of worked with the break away to ride into a strong position on gc with wilco but instead just rides for himself for basically nothing.
Carapaz is all fake not just he's tactic
That's why I get bored when Carapaz is anywhere near the lead. I don't like to watch that guy race.
CARAPAZ #1 5he REAL GOAT, GOLD MEDAL too.
I think you are reading too much into it.. his face looks like that
I mean only at Lanterne Rouge when Carapaz does something they get obsessed with his face.
I'm reading too much hate in these comments. None amount of acting will give one a stage win. You need the legs, talent and courage! Well done Carapaz!
Caracheeky did It again.shame on you
And Enric did it again, always on Remco’s wheel. Shame on him
Peñas Blancas! ---> White Pen!s
White Rocks, actually
@@m.a.c1379 it was a joke, actually
Not a fan of Carapaz, too much faking.
Carapaz always fakes and attacks and is that his only way to win something?
No, that’s stupid. He has actually never won because of his facial expressions. Since 2019 he hasn’t even won a stage in grand tours.
He did the same thing during the Olympics. The main reason why I dislike him. He's a has-been and hope he'll never win another race in his life
Cry cry ... He just won 3 stages for you 😏🫡😅
Carapaz 🤡
LOCOMOTORA CARAPAZ.
