I'm gonna throw this out there, as a person who has worked at 3 cell companies. Even the most expensive phones go on sale. I dont know your situation, obviously, but if you time it right you can get nice, even brand new, phones for "decent" prices. Black friday is usually the best, but holidays and phone releases are usually a good time to look. Pixels actually go on sale more often than Apple or Samsung just because they don't sell as much. I'm saying this as an Apple and Samsung user.. Pixels have the best camera on the market, pretty much. I've joked I cant take a screenshot as good as pixel takes a picture. And the 4 has this hands free thing where you can wave your hand over it and it will skip songs or snooze or whatever. It's pretty cool.

You could buy Xiaomi with similar specification (and better battery) for 20% of the price and if you are everyday user, and not a blogger/photographer, you do not need camera like that - photo quality will be almost the same because most people will not know how to use that options and/or they will get bored with setting it up everytime (who need fancy camera to take a photo of work/school/bus schedule, some vacation selfies or even insta-food?) ;)

I lived in my Hanomag conversion in Big Sur in the early '70's, LOTS of places to park overnight with no hassles. I went back last year for the first time since I moved to Idaho, and saw all "my" old sites were blocked off or had big signs saying NO PARKING, much less overnight. The place continues to be loved to death. Still probably the most dangerous drive in the US!
