I heard the Marching 100 for the first time in 1977 when I was 9 years old at homecoming. In 1983 I saw them again in Belle Glade, Florida at Glades Central High School for performance. 1986 I stepped on the campus of the “highest of seven hills” for the first time as a student. I have been in love with this University and the 100 ever since. Nearly 45 years later from my first seeing the campus of FAMU and hearing the MARCHING 100 this still excites me as if it is the first time. IN ALL THE WORLD THERE IS ONLY ONE !!!!
I know the feeling of being a kid loving my FAMU and especially the M100! I was born in 1968, and I have more memories than I can count from FL Classics, Homecomings, OBCs, and just spending time on THE HILL. My mother graduated from FAM-C in 1949, and four generations later, my family has over 35 graduates from this esteemed institution. My blood family is also FAMULY! I am a very proud Morehouse Man, but I will always be a FAMU baby!
I was absolutely blown away by the performance of the Marching 100 Famu Marching 100 in their "Spring Preview". The precision and energy they demonstrated was truly remarkable! .
Lawd have mercy. This is what I'm talking about. This is the FAMU that love. Sounds great, can't wait for the rest of the season. Fall is gonna be crazy.
For all of u who don't know...famu copies nobody...the late de Foster showed the world how to execute a halftime show...he created the first real Hbcu band...everybody else tries to copy famu.. The other bands play loud...famu has a surround sound that can never be duplicated...this is hx...u have been schooled!
Ice Cream Man to On Time God. Damn that's cringy as hell. FAMUs sound is unmistakable but at some point sounding like a PWI trying to be a HBCU has to change. We get the musicianship, tone and precision in the music but other bands (JSU & SU) can do the same and still mix it up. I hope you guys don't bring this ish to the OBC yet again this year.
