  • With permission from the school principal and superintendent I did a fire alarm test on a school equipped with Simplex 4100U addressable panel, Simplex 4099 9003 dual action T bars, and Simplex 4903 9417 multi candela smart sync truealert horn strobes.

Just if you're curious. The 4903-9417 is not multi candela. The 4903-9417 has a fixed 15CD strobe, the 4903-9418 is 75CD, the 4903-9419 is 110CD and then finally, the 4906-9127 is the model with the multi candela strobe and is still being made today for new installs and to replace the older 4903-9417/9418/9419 fire alarm signaling horn strobes. If the signals are not 4903-9417s, then they are most likely their 4 wire counterparts, the 4903-9425. It is definitely not a 4903-9450 because that is addressable and it has a different pitch and tone and sound.

That’s actually a 4100+ system not a 4100U. You can tell because of the buzzer sound rather than a piezo and it has membrane keys instead of rubber buttons like the U has. Definitely a newer 4100+ right around when they were phased out in favor of the 4100U.
