Since you service dog was still a service dog in training how many months of training did he have before you decided he's ready to go to school with you because I'm not with a professional trainer I'm training him myself. Also my Service dog in training Mason is 2 years old all ready and his just started his training, any tips you have in mind for training a service for a public place like school.
There's another handler at me school, I plan to attend next year and I'm kinda worried about that. What would you recommend for that? (my sdit is a year old and hopefully will be attending with me freshman year which is next year)
Hey, I am still in the process of even getting my dog to be my service dog because I am still going through test for my health but my dog is already tasked for whatever problems I have currently and has done many training outings in pet friendly locations and is almost done (just waiting for a trainer to ok it) with his training for all of his basics along with all of his tasks. I have talked to my school about having him come as a esa before he is a “service dog” (even though he is already trained to be a sd) but they said it is against the policy. So I just went about emailing my principal about service dogs for him to come with me because I am so close to having him be a service dog that it would make the process easier if I talked to my school first. I had a meeting with my principal and he basically told me no. I’m not 100% sure about the Wisconsin service dog in training laws but I’m not sure what to do next in the process of this? If anyone can help me with anything regarding school in Wisconsin laws but I just need help I’m at a point where I might just leave the school if I can’t have him come as he is extremely needed for me. Any information or tips help :) thank you
how long did it take you to get your service dog? im in the process right now and the wait time is unsure but it’s like 2 years or so and im soooooooooo not sane enough for that lol
Hi to whom it may concern. I lived in a trailor park and I have a neighbor that claims he have a service dog. However everyday this person go somewhere and that poor dog is tied outside in the cold. My concern is if this person really needs this service dog , shouldn’t this dog be with them instead of being tie outside in the cold everyday??
oh no!!! no dog deserves that. i would call the animal protection officers in your area! a lot of times they will educate the person and give them a warning. they also keep who called it in anonymous! :)
I got permission to take my service dog in training to school with me. Got permission from principal to take her to school because no public access laws for in training dogs.
I’m getting a professionally trained service dog someone tell me if a standard poodle is a good dog for a ANXIETY ALERT service dog? I’m 10 and I have needed a service dog, I can’t leave my home because my anxiety is that bad. I HAVE DONE 2 YEARS OF RESEARCH AND IM GETTING A PHYSICIAN LETTER SOON AND MY MOM IS PAYING FOR MY $20,000 SERVICE DOG! :)))
No, they shouldn’t require anything, as long as it’s a public school they have to follow the ADA. Service dogs aren’t required in anyway to spayed or neutered, if your dog is a female and is going through a heat cycle I would put a a full body dog diaper (or just a regular dog diaper) on the dog so she isn’t getting blood everywhere The only thing the school should require is for the dog to trained to be in public space and the dog must be fully task trained.
One thing you have to be careful with as well is people only being friends with you to hang out with your service dog or because of your dog. I don’t have a service dog but you should still be careful. If I ever do need a service dog (which I’m pretty sure I’m not going to) I’m only going to be close friends with people who were my friend before i had a service dog. (Again I don’t have a service dog it’s just a suggestion)
from my understanding, no. in ohio i believe service dogs in training are only allowed in non pet-friendly IF you are a professional trainer working through a program, not if you are owner training. but if your dog meets the minimum ADA law requirements technically they are allowed and therefore legally would be considered "fully trained". i hope this makes sense haha!
I was like wtf but Im not going to argue with him because they are pushing buttons already because I haven’t gone to school in months because of my ptsd 😳😡

Any information or tips help :) thank you
Can you please send me the video you made with your trainer. My daughter is having issues with other students harassing her about her SD.
hi! i am so sorry but i just looked for it and i must have deleted it.:( is there anything else i can do?!?!
is there a certain website you can look at to see if your state allows them?
What is the process with PE? Does the dog run with you or do downstay somewhere else?
how long did it take you to get your service dog? im in the process right now and the wait time is unsure but it’s like 2 years or so and im soooooooooo not sane enough for that lol
Plz do a vid on how u edit!!!!!!!!
you got it!!! i'll film it asap :)
I know I'm late to the video lmao but I got the 100th likeeeee
WHOOP WHOOPPPP
My puppy in training did amazing in band class and pep band sports games.
nice! and some states do allow service dogs in training. that's great that you got permission instead though.
can they ask for proof of a disability like a note from doctor?
Ya it’s super dumb but ya they made me, it doesn’t need to be invasive
Can a school tell you the dog must be spayed or neutered because that's supposably the only deal breaker at mine.
No, they shouldn’t require anything, as long as it’s a public school they have to follow the ADA. Service dogs aren’t required in anyway to spayed or neutered, if your dog is a female and is going through a heat cycle I would put a a full body dog diaper (or just a regular dog diaper) on the dog so she isn’t getting blood everywhere
The only thing the school should require is for the dog to trained to be in public space and the dog must be fully task trained.
I live on n Ohio so do I have rights to bring my service dog in training to school or no school if not I will be sooooo sad.
from my understanding, no. in ohio i believe service dogs in training are only allowed in non pet-friendly IF you are a professional trainer working through a program, not if you are owner training. but if your dog meets the minimum ADA law requirements technically they are allowed and therefore legally would be considered "fully trained". i hope this makes sense haha!
@@thepawswithpurpose do you know about Florida? No worries if not
I’m the second person in my school to have a service dog and they don’t want my dog there while she is in heat and I was like no you can’t do that 😳
omg that's not quite how the laws work pal hahaha
I was like wtf but Im not going to argue with him because they are pushing buttons already because I haven’t gone to school in months because of my ptsd 😳😡
@@theservicesibe8867 Well just make sure you buy the dog some diapers so she won’t be leaking all over the floor or just get her neutered.
@@osita5578 thanks for that I sadly wont be spaying her but I found better diapers for her so she’s much better
I’m scared when I bring my sd Lilo with me to school that kids will kick her. (Because that’s what high schoolers do)
