      Lance Stroll is proving to be a bad example of a human being. He will never be successful at anything because he's unwilling to accept his errors. You can't make proper changes to improve if you don't accept your errors. In the dictionary, under the phrase "spoiled brat" is a picture of Lance Stroll.

      But it's never his fault, like Russel. It does help, as a defensive mechanism to brush things off, in the moment to keep the eye on the ball. But it is Stroll, what ball is his eye on?
      You should also think back after the fact, make some apologies and try to improve, which is moot when talking about Stroll.

      We must remember that the current Aston Martin team only exists because Lawrence saw it as a way to get his son into an F1 seat. If Lance goes Lawrence will sell.

      @@philtucker1224 All true but Honda surely had special requests and protective clauses; let's face it, they are used to winning and know that a WCC is not possible with Lance driving. Larry knows it as well and at some point he is accountable to his co-investors.

    Making the fastest lap point available to everyone would be interesting. The Last 8 would fit new tyres for the last few laps, nothing to loose. Might be good entertainment.

      @@sugs2007 he didn't for the last 4 years yes. many Merc engineers left the boat since 2020. but he managed to grab new ones for 2025. but honestly, i know Allison is capable of making a good car but he's been mislead by the rotten simulation software. i think they learned a lesson here. we need to pay attention to what Merc is gonna do now if they get it right.
      but i'm wondering when the simulator got sideways. because with the W11 there was no issues. really weird situation.

    Didnt this channel put out a video a few days ago about how FER now has the best deg, and RB was hitting the development ceiling? That ages really well, VER was 1s a lap faster than anyone else on track pretty much the entire race.

      It would devalue points in general, and make everything look silly. It would be as dumb and having everyone on a giant podium from 1-20.

    Points system doesn’t go nearly far enough. A guy could finish consistently 11-14th every race and a guy who usually finishes 17-20th can have one or two good/lucky races and finish ahead in constructors or drivers standings….why is it so hard to give everyone a pt who finishes the race? You just bump the top 10 pts higher and give 20th if finishing 1 pt.

      @@dominman I understand that mate. But this is sport, it’s meant to be competition.
      The lower teams already have a massive advantage in wind tunnel time and they still don’t catch up, that’s on them.
      Giving them points for positions where it’s not deserved is nothing but pity. If you don’t perform, you don’t deserve anything.

    I think points for the top 12 is a great idea considering we know who will win every race maybe the battle for P2 will be even better

    The panalty for Sargeant was not his fault, it must have been unable to see, who came over the line for both drrivers, it was so close and the difference in the speed was very high between Huelkenberg coming out of the pit lane and Sergeant still racing on the start finish line in full speed. The crew in the box should have informed Sargeant about this to let Huelkenberg by and the race control for permission to swap positions with Huelkenberg, or - even better! - the stewards should have told Williams, because they would have had to allow Huelkenberg to pass anyway!
    I don´t often defend mistakes from drivers, BUT Sargeant could know and do NOTHING in that case, it was the fault of the Williams crew this time.

      My only problem with the new proposal, while it might generate battles for 12th, is it doesn't really incentivize finishing higher till 7th. Like if you're 9th, you shouldn't push a risk to get 7th, as its only 2 points. With the old system, that was worth 4 points.

    Yes for point’s further down.
    Also yes for reverse grid in points for the sprints. 15-20 never get anything nor do they have a chance to fight for those points. The faster teams in back can use the stint for setting up for the race and see if they are any faster than any slower (ahead) teams.

    Bro, no one is defending Sargent overall as he was not ready for F1 and maybe would have never been….but his penalty and pts were and are BS….dude came out of the pits in fraction of a millisecond ahead of him. It’s on the team to tell him and Stewart’s should have just told him to let magnussen ahead and no penalty…they were racing to an imaginary line and was a photo finish

    Still too many points for the win (+7) while 2nd and 3rd are just +3...
    Why not 25-20-16-13-11-9 to reward top 3 with +1 for each next place.
    Or at least give 19 for 2nd...

    Personally, I think every finishing position should be rewarded by points. That would promote racing more in the lower positions. It would be a more representative order as well, now there is almost no difference form finishing every race in 11th or 20th place.

    I think they should do a complete overhaul of the points. Give everyone a point for the position you finish. You win you get 20 you finish last you get one. Fastest lap still stays in the top 10. Get a DNF you get no points. Will make racing worth fighting for with every position

    Crofty had a great point about awarding points further down the grid. These guys in the lower midfield are fighting tooth and nail for absolutely nothing most of the time- maybe it would be more interesting to watch cars battling for P14 if points are a possibility🤷‍♂️

    I hope the new points change gets approved, but I would have preferred they went with points for the top 15 like this:
    30 22 18 15 12 10 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1
    - bigger P1 to P2, and P2 to P3 advantages*
    - P4 is still half of P1 (30/15 vs 25/12)
    - Top5 get "extra" points, whereas P6-P15 get just 1 for every position
    *I'm not a Max, Checo or RedBull fan; it's quite the opposite, but top performance should have more points, and they will not be on the top steps forever.

    It's too much that we are hoping for Ferrari to get close to an upgraded RB20. Max was doing .8s faster than his teammate, even the next or big Imola upgrade won't do jerk to the RB20

      What i didnt understand even back then after suzuka was why everybody was so hyped up that Ferrari was "only" 3 tenths away from redbull. Like yeah they improved big time but the RB19 was already basically nearly maxed out in terms if highspeed cornering so its only natural that Ferrari would catch up there. And as newey or wache said at the start of the season the big improvement they think they made with the RB20 was low speed cornering and traction and china basically confirmed this . The RB20 is tremendously faster in the low speeds than last year and has much much better traction than last year . So yeah i dont think the imola Upgrade from Ferrari will put them instantly on par with redbull , quite the contrary actually i think that nobody will challenge redbull this season seriously

      @craigstewart6755 the only positive was SF24's ability to keep tyres fresh which has forces RBR to pit Max first and release him to chase after the leaders before they stopped. It was nice to see him chasing after leclerc and Noris

    The only reason why Checo was not able to catch & pass Lando was because of excessive tire wear he wasted, catching & passing Charles.
    Had Max been in Checo's position, after his pit stop, he would have pushed, almost flat out, to pass Charles asap, then 'real in' Lando & pass asap.
    After that, prudent tire management would have got him home in P2.

    I agree with adjusting the points but should be more consistent I agree with keeping it to 25 points but I think at least be 20 points for 2nd place should be 20 then go from there

    I know everyone hates on Stroll (and they're right to do so) but Sargeant has to go. He can't even safety car correctly. I think Williams will dump him after Miami and one of the top teams will get a rookie in that drive.

      The Sargeant penalty was as much on the team as on him. He got the penalty because he arrived at that pit exit line just slightly behind the Haas that was leaving the pits. It was so close that we did not hear any protest from Nico Hulkenberg or Haas (at least during the broadcast), he too likely assumed that Sargeant got there first.
      The team should have told him to give the place back if/when they were made aware of the infraction.

    I remember when only the top six scored and it was 10 points for a win. People didn't like it going to ten. People always forget the awarded points differences when comparing champions total career points.

    We don't need more cars getting points, we need qualifying to be ACTUAL qualifying, not simply setting the order. Top 10 cars in qualifying get to race, the rest can head to the next track and get an extra practice session. The back markers are always in the way and dont end up with points anyway, dont need them fumbling around hitting each other leaving debris for the real teams.

    I understand why Mercedes changed the setup after the sprint, Lewis was abysmal in the low speed corners during the sprint.
    What I can’t understand is why didn’t they break parc ferme and just start from the pit lane so they could undo the changes? They could have also changed the engine to add another engine to Lewis’ pool to make up for the one they lost in Australia. What strategic value is there in starting 18th?? He could have been running in free air out of the pit lane and would have caught up within 2-3 laps anyways, and China always has a safety car so all the same strategy options would have been on the table. The strategy decisions Mercedes’ makes are so timid and shortsighted, even if the car is better in Miami they will do everything possible not to do well it seems.

    The change to the points system is long overdue. I think they should have 0 points for last place but every other position should get at least one point, this would make the lower half of the leaderboard way more interesting and level the playing field a bit.

    I personally think they should of lept the w14 idea cause that car was actually really good and let Elliott go out of unfair criticism. After they changed from the zero side pod to the b spec the car was really good and competitive and was hanging with Ferrari and McLaren and even the perez in the redbull. They messed up not evolving the w14 for this year

    What is the horsepower of the Red Bull ? That should be the standard ! The chassis is up to the teams. You see the winning margin?
    You hear people say their car is slow ? This is f1 none of these cars are slow? But Red Bull is a different class ,and that’s not racing that’s practice! If Red Bull can print their horsepower then that’s the standard !

    Poor Bottas, no matter how well he does driving, something goes wrong outside his control. Lance just wanted to take a picture of the underside of the RB, thought it was the real RB 🤣. Marc need to send Russell behind Checo to have a look under it😇.Mercs only chance is to hire some ninjas to break into RB and nick all the parts🤺.
