Hi Emy - I 100% agree with all of this. You make excellent points. If I had to do it all over, knowing what I know now, my collection would look much different. I don’t think I understood the whole influencer/PR game when I first started; I was a bit naive. Not all of those purchases were mistakes but probably 1/3 of them were. Now I buy tons of samples, travel sizes and decants and that is working for me. Yes it’s a crazy fun hobby isn’t it? 😊

I would like to see your favourite houses within your collection and then your least and favourite from each. Or an entire Collection overview - a few words summarising each and if you would or wouldn’t repurchase when you run out. ❤

Hi Emy, great advice! I myself started with niche, because I was never interested in designer and thought they were yuck. The only designer perfume I loved was Patchouli by Reminiscence, and it was my signature scent. Everything else was just ok, but I never thought of them as art. My attention was sparked when I smelled a niche perfume for the first time in my life (it was Italica 😍) at a friend's house., and from there on a whole world opened to me. Also, I feel like even if you never blind buy, you will still be decluttering, because in the beginning your nose is inexperienced. You will buy perfumes you love at that moment, but a year later you can't stand them anymore. Has happened to me many times. Luckily, in Europe it is easier to get rid of them.

Mine would be quality over quantity and proper sampling to make sure I would really wear it (liking something is one thing, wanting to wear it regularly is another)
I’ve spent so much on ME fragrances as an alternative to the real thing …nearly every time for me the original was better. I’ve wasted more money trying to save on the original than if I’d just been more selective and purchased originals I really really love.

Well this made my day Emy! Thank you 1000 times over and I can’t wait for part 2. All of the tips are not only helpful for perfumes but in all kinds of purchases. Right there with you in my vanilla gourmand love. I have been forcing myself to explore other profiles and discover new loves. I agree with everything you said and you brightened my day! 🥰

Great video Emy❣ wonderful advice , I have always loved scents and had a small collection until 2020 when I REALLY needed some positive distraction and then I fell down the rabbit hole of the niche world and found it kind of by accident , looking for lipstick swatch reviews when someone mentioned a house I had never heard of ...... skin chemistry is 💯 real and our senses perceive uniquely .... but the search and discovery, self discovery is fun 🎉🎉😍

I enjoyed the video. As someone pretty new to fragrance, I think it's helpful when reviewers classify fragrances to help us newcomers not to have redundancy. Like woody, vanilla, green vanilla, sexy vanilla, fresh, musk, classic floral, citrus, gourmand etc. And also letting us know when a certain fragrance reminds them of another. Subscribing😊

You always have good advice and I agree with the points you have made🙏🙏. The only one that I still do is blind buying but it’s quite minimal😉😉
I only do it because sometimes it’s difficult to get samples of specific fragrances that I’m interested in🤔🤔. Looking forward to part 2👌👌.
    Stay gorgeous🥰🥰

I blind buy for exactly the same reason now, but if I can sample, I do that first
