Accutac bipod with sled feet + adjustable bag rider is the way to go. All you need now is a piece of plywood with a carpet on for that bipod to ride on. It makes a HUGE difference.
I’ve been trying out a Zeiss LRP S3 4-25 on a 6ARC gas gun. I have it in a 20 moa NF mount. From my zero stop I have 34.7 mils of usable elevation. I don’t know how much magnification people generally use on ELR rifles but I was blown away by the amount of elevation that thing has.
I’m have a family friend that was a sniper for a special forces team way back in early 00’s. Shooting to those ranges is difficult but once you get it, he said it’s a liberating feeling knowing you can hit targets at those ranges. Good luck I’m going to keep trying for 700 😂
The truth is, it works great for confidence and mastering the basics. If you can hit even close to the target consistently or hit the target ON PURPOSE at that range at all, you know that you will be able to hit anything in 800 yard range which is already more than a sniper needs
You guys are catching up to your elders by now. My rock chuck club has been competitions to shoot rock chucks across 3 and 5 mile wide canyons of the Snake River west of Twin Falls, Idaho. The club is 45 years old and going strong. Glad to see you young guys learning to appreciate this sport.
The break is amazing. I have a Sabatti Rover Tactical in 300 Winchester Magnum. Barrel is huge in diameter. Unfortunately from the factory it has a non threaded muzzle. Had a local gunsmith thread the barrel. Ordered the same break made for a 308 diameter bullet. Recoil is like a 243 Winchester now.
375ct is definitively an amazing bullet and for sure the best for ELR. I don't even know if there's and ammo with better ballistic coefficient for that distance.
It surprisingly easy I got 1,000yrd a few months back. Before that 300yrd was the most I had shot. Don't over think it I built a very expensive rifle just for 1,000yrd and 1 mile. But I was surprised my 5.56 bolt rifle with a 4-16x50 scope was more than enough for 1,000yrd. And it was 1/5 the $. I intend to try for 1 mile this fall with the more expensive and powerful rifle I built.
@@eggbert191 Been reloading and shooting for over 20 years so please tell me what I don’t understand? Great video, awesome rifle, it was a pleasure watching. Can you please take on the Texas Plinking 1000 yard challenge with this rifle once you are all dialed in - that would be amazing to watch. 👍
@@Ultimatereloader Thank you for sharing your amazing build. I'm in awe of what appeared to be very little recoil on a rifle capable of a 2 mile shot. The color choice was perfect, I want something similar on my RPR.

It didn't look like you was very comfortable behind it for most of the shots and getting a natural point of aim. It looks like it's going to hammer like most of your builds.

Hey Gavin, Cory Trapp here at Gunsite. If you get a chance, come see us for the ELR class Sep 16-19 and we can work up that new system out past 2000 meters.
Very impressive...but intimidating - Im a mechanic and maintenanace guy who can fix near anything.....but never operated metal machining lathes. I'm very impressed.
Hello! Have been watching your videos with interest and finally subbed. I’m working on a .375 XC build now and am hoping you can provide some information on the O.D. Profile of your barrel. I’m also starting with a Bartlein (similar headstamp data too) of 1.350 x 35 (blank). This is incredibly nose-heavy. Thanks, John
I’m an automotive painter and airbrush artist on cars bikes and anything that can be scuffed can be sprayed. When I met creakier at SEMA in 2018 those guys showed me some baggers they did exhaust fenders tanks heads and stuff on with their air cure formula. Have you tried any of their new pearl chameleon color changing effects pack yet? I’m debating on if I wanna spend the money on something that will model real bad or something I’ll have to cross stitch and coat multiple times to lay and not have a nasty flop light side effect.
Wow I'm glad I found this channel. Is that lathe CNC or just a very precise manual lathe? I'm a tool and die apprentice and unfortunately in my shop I won't get much lathe exposure. We have one but pretty much never use it. I learned the basics in one of my college classes and really enjoyed working with it. Right now I'm running an Okuma CNC mill. Where did you learn this stuff? You're one of the only guys on youtube in the gun sphere I've seen fire up a lathe. I'm going to be working on a custom project here soon and if you have some time I'd love some advice. It's nowhere near as intricate as what you're doing. I just wanna chop down a 13.5" Geissele MK16 handguard to about 11.80" for a 12.5" barrel. I was thinking of either using a very good bandsaw or a bridgeport. The thing I need advice on is simply work holding. What would be a good way to secure the handguard in the vice without either crushing it or damaging the tan anodized finish? I guess I could just use a couple pieces of wood but idk there has to be a better way.
When I did that, I used a 10" miter saw with a metal cutting blade for the chop. I then used a belt sander to make the end flat. To avoid damaging a finish, you can wrap the handguard in blue painters tape.

375 really isn't meant to be a 1000 yard gun, it's hard to see potential misses at that short a distance to make corrections
Always find it fascinating not just with the reloading stuff but machining and making these things to accomplish this stuff.
Beautifully done and shown, sir.

Super cool video. Reminds us of how many man hours go into a custom. Especially those of us who haven't the slightest clue on how a lathe works.
I love it when precision machining and firearms come together

Amazing build and results, can't wait to see long range.
You could use some swivels for fishing on your spraying rack that way you can turn the part 360 without having to take it off the rack and turn it
Nice engineering there! Understanding what you are doing throughout the process to build this accuracy is crazy to a non engineer.
Getting that cheek piece on will help tighten up that group too
Problem is there would be no room for the bolt!
@@d0rrell i run that chassis on my 375ct and it is made so the bolt clears under the cheek piece

In the words of William Shakespeare, "3 shots a group does not make."
