FFXIII's OST is just amazing. Hamauzu studied harmony and it shows in his work quite a lot imo
I honestly did not expect to see a reaction to a piece from the Final Fantasy 13 soundtrack. This video came at the perfect time because I just started replaying the FFXIII games. Despite the game not being well received by many, it is one of my favorites and has an S-tier soundtrack, in my opinion. My personal favorites are The Promise, Saber's Edge, Blinded by the Light, Lightning's Theme, and The Sunleth Waterscape. The prelude is also quite good. I also have been self-learning the piano and recently started learning to play the Promise from FFXIII.
Saber's Edge and Blinded By Light are really good.
It seems the biggest gripe people had were they were unable to understand the story. Which is odd to me because I grew up with learning difficulties and trouble understanding a lot of things and I “never” had any issues understanding the story, not one time.
And XIII-2 is soo good. Caius's theme is a great soundtrack.
Anyone reviewing FF13 music, I'm tuning in. The OST is underrated, and Will to Fight has been one of my favorite songs in VGM history
My fave track from FF13 is Blinded by Light and Almighty Bhunivelze from FF13: Lightning Returns for further FF13 recs
Lots of leit motifs throughout this track, makes it even better checking out the other tracks, blinded by light, or some of the 13-2 themes like new bhodum are bangers
Its just so fun to watch you have fun with different music
FF13 offers something really different yet still fantasy like. The game itself like story, combat, characters is up to debate but the music truly don't miss.
This song in the English playlist of FFXIII's OST is known as "Will to Fight" - I am too familiar with this soundtrack as I have heard this Single track for "22 Hrs" in one gaming session, why ?? Coz the game said - The level - "5th Ark" was the place to make the Pulse L'Cie chosen ones stronger !! lol me 🤣🤣😅 !! Anyways - My favorite tracks in this FFXIII OST is [色のない世界] Dust to Dust, [ヤシャス山] The Yaschas Massif & [スーリヤ湖] Sulyya Springs !! Do listen to it !! Dope Tracks !!

Finally got time to watch! Other songs from this game that are really interesting are the boss themes, specifically Fighting Fate.
(Masashi Hamauzu also did the music for Hunter x Hunter, which I know you have reviewed at least the opening for before!)
I'm gonna toss my vote in the echo for Blinded by Light from this series -- most memorable part and that's saying something since you hear it a lot as the main battle theme!

Lightning Returns version of the Yeul theme is so good. So is the ending music
So the vocalist on this and many of the XIII tracks is named Mina Sakai, and she is very real, haha. The composer, Hamauzu, later formed a group with her named Imeruat.

Definitely check out Blinded By Light, the battle theme for Final Fantasy XIII.
FFXIII will always have a special place in my heart. This track in particular is one of my tops, "Saber's Edge", and I love the relaxing melody of "The Yaschas Massif". You should absolutely check out FFXV tracks also. They are incredible.

@@JCR631 I think they (FF13 trilogy) got the best story, it's just that the story is 300 hours long lol. The gameplay is a bit too linear though.
It is not about this BGM that I was going to comment, but it made me curious that in the last video you reacted to the OP "the ghost a Shell SAC" sung by the late 'Origa' who also sings the songs of this FF trilogy. I just wanted to make the curious note.
the Sunleth Waterscape is a great piece from this game also.
No one really knows the band named Stereotype, but theres a mathrock style song that is very energetic worth checking out or reacting to called Umifuzz!
Final Fantasy consistantly with some of the best OSTs of all time.

My favorite(or one of) aspect of this piece is the use of timpani. I really can't recall any piece that uses timpani in this atmospheric and subtle way.
Its just so far removed from the traditional way that instrument gets pigeon holed in 'epic' moments.

Great reaction...I forgot how good the music from FF13 was. Not to change gears or anything, but I'm hurting for some more Jinjer and would recommend checking out Vlad's Mediator live drum play through...he's a beast and you won't be disappointed. More Jinjer please and thank you! 🤘🍻

FF13 prelude gets crapped on by the "fanbase" (for being different to the classic prelude) but I think its an awesome epic piece of music
