Daphne is so balanced. She is a bit of all bridgertons. She is witty like Eloise, pure like Colin, Artistic like Benedict, mischievous like Hyacinth, happy like violet, loving like her mother, responsible like Anthony, bold as she is, wise like her father. She is the one and only Bridgerton who gets it all, and who is literally perfect. Her fears were her obstacles which were evaporated quickly when she found her love, Simon.
@@thelegacyofgaming2928I’ve seen people include Colin and Fran , the two middle are definitely Daphne and Eloise . There are equal number of children before and after them so they are definitely middle .
Simon loved truly Daphne but he didn't want to disappoint her. He felt love was not enough and she deserved better. Simon didn't realize, he had strong and determined woman on his side. She was his right and left, she picked up his slack. She knew he had been through a lot and she wanted him to know, I am here for you and I love you no matter what. She was exactly what Simon needed.
It's not just that she was the right woman for him, it's also that deep down, despite his flaws, Simon is a great human being. Lady Danbury did a wonderful job guiding him.. We all fell in love with him, not just Daphne. He has a great sense of humor, wonderful with children, and he's loyal to Daphne. They really did form a great friendship.
@@donnabailey566 Exactly. Simon is a good man with a shlt father. The majority of people with an upbringing like that, do not turn out to be half the man Simon is. If not for Lady Danbury, I could only imagine how horrible he might have turned out to be, or even if he would still be alive...
Once Daphne understood Simon pain, and why he felt the way he did. She was adamant about showing him you can be loved and give love in return. Don't hold a grudge about your father because he didn't love you, promises can be broken. If I can love you with all your flaws
As did I. I chose to make haste lest thee Netflix account was unpaid due to lack of funds and I was left the unfortunate misfortune of seeing his Grace with his shirt open as in this clip.
Daphne was tjhe healing force that Simon needed. He had love in his soul, but he had been hurt so badly by his father that he allowed fear to rule him. But Lady Danbury had given him love and direction, so eventually he believed he was worthy of love. They are a loving couple.
I have watched all the clips, Edgerton on numerous times. Simon and Daphne was no different than any other couple. I grant you they definitely had there share of problems. What people failed to realize they both were very immature, neither knew about life and what to expect, both were green. But yet the attraction was there. They both made the sacrifice to give it a try, so they did. What marriage you know is perfect, none that I know. It shows how true unconditional love prevails.
The exterior of Simon is the Duke and that’s who he know who to be. The little boy Simon was crushed by his father and had no mother to show him love. He took the persona of a Rake and a proud stubborn man to shield the little boy from hurt. Daphne was able to crack through the Duke and reach out to Simon. At the end, he is Simon and the Duke for her. He can never let go of being the Duke but he now knows how to live with himself.
@Nadine Gomez So true. The most important takeaway from their relationship is what Daphne's mom told her, and what she conveyed to Simon - that people must CHOOSE - every day - to love. Too many people don't understand that. Real love is not a feeling - it's a choice that needs to be made over and over again in order to grow and mature. Feelings will wane, but choosing every day to honor that love with action will strengthen the partners as a pair and as individuals.
@@buzon1658 Also before Daphne mother's talk, listen to what lady Danbury told Simon about how pride will cost you everything and leave you with nothing, you could see the wheels turning in his mind at that point. The fact that he was acting like his father got to him.
PRECIOSA SERIE NO HAN ECHO NINGUNA TAN BONITA NETFLIX LA HA ECHO MUCHO MAS BONITA QUE EL LIBRO CUANDO SIEMPRE ES AL CONTRARIO DAPHNE Y SIMON INSUPERABLES
Sorry ... haven't watched ..been meaning too... just going through the comments .. finding it funny . people going gaga over it .... because ..I'm a reader .. I read the whole series years ago ...she is one of my favourite authors ...and this series was so engrossing I finished the whole set of books in one and half months !!. Wondering if the screen version will keep my faith !?
Why a dog? She loves him. She doesn't want to give up on her husband. And her family and parents were so loving, she thinks she and Simon can have a loving relationship too...if only he will surrender to love, stop fighting and running away.
@Zsuzsanna Varga Heres the thing too he could have told her I dont want children when she interrupted the duel. So why didnt he? I think its because he knew he couldnt get away with saying that. She would have either said OK with the intention of trying to change his mind later once they marry or she would have been angry because he chose to ruin her reputation simply because he didnt want kids. Neither of these outcomes appealed to him and knowing how innocent she was about marital relations and pregnancy he took advantage and deceived her
This wasn't an apology. This was him saying he wanted to try and saying he didn't think he was capable and doing what she needed. She is telling him they will do it together. As far as I can tell there was no apology from either of them
I'm glad that he humbled himself and came to her room. I'm glad she left the door open for him. If you notice, whenever things don't go his way or he's uncomfortable, he threatens to leave. When Daphne seemed to be getting close to a proposal from the prince, he breaks off their friendship and tells her he's leaving London. After Daphne and the prince dance, he has to say goodbye at the garden terrace because he's leaving. And when he thinks she's gotten pregnant against his wishes, he tells her he's leaving her (separating from her) after the Hastings Ball. He's immature and stubborn, so coming to her room and admitting he doesn't know how to be the man she needs and deserves is a good step. Although I think it's a good turning point for their relationship, I don't like the dialogue here. I think they've had some more powerful lines in earlier scenes: the dialogue here is not nearly as strong as his plea to the Queen or their honeymoon argument at the inn. (And, yes they both owe each other an apology; Simon for lying/misleading her about his fertility and Daphne, for taking matters into her own hands.)
I rewatched it and I did not care about the endings as much. But then, I noticed how Daphne was fighting so hard for her marriage and did not want to give up on him.
This was not my favorite dialogue. I'm glad he came to her room and admitted he didn't want to be alone. I'm glad she left the door open for him and welcomed him. But their lines here are not nearly as strong as his plea to the Queen or their honeymoon confessions at the inn.

The way he says her name Daphne is acting at his best. Phoebe's eyes & facial expressions are classic. Just great acting from both. Great casting.

Yes. I believe if Daphne had never entered his life, Simon would be a rake for the rest of his days and amount to nothing.
Lady Danbury knew from the moment she saw Daphne, that she would make the perfect match for Simon. All she had to do from there was work her magic.
