I love the pumping of the gas pedal and the look on his face like saying come on babyyyyy don’t let me down when he started the truck 🛻 in the beginning😂
As weird as this may be, I kinda like the sound of older engines like that with an exhaust leak. Could just be me but just gives it that old American muscle sound/feel
I'm fortunate enough to have found a '72 Camper Special in excellent shape here recently and like you? Really looking forward to bringing it back. Congrats.
A little tip about driving those old trucks. They have a cheap throw out bearing on the clutch so don't keep your foot on the clutch no more than you have to. Its a lot of work changing that little prick. A good tip from an old guy. Good shape truck chum. The only time you use first gear is when you're pulling a lot of weight.
I would definetly drive the old 72 ford, with the 4 speed with granny gear, they have monster torque, and simple to maintain, they are depenable if you maintain them with normal maintenence!! Dont need all them bells n whistles!! 🙂
Love the old Ford, one like this made me love Ford trucks, when I was young as my neighbor had one and would take me for a ride in it. It had shift on the column!
I mean I paid $900 for the same setup and it didn’t run... but knew I was putting a different engine in it.. look at the cab mounts and rust to know it’s true value. Mine was rust free for 900
My first was a 67 high boy. 4 speed 352. 2bbl. Manual steering. Manual drums all around. Boy I miss driving her. However. My dumbass was the one to put her in a pole... needs a fender and axle to be good again. Tweakers stole the damn axle.... it's a shame because she was dean near mint.
My arms hurt just hearing you talk about manual steering. I would find a dump or transfer station and clean out the bed ASAP. Get it cleaned up before the wife reports you to the HOA.
Other than the wheelcylinder it's ready to go and I'll be selling the old truck is just a rolling chassis since I need the body but everything else will go. just have to think on the price for a little bit or just accepting offers because I'm not sure yet.
That thing sounds good !! Love old fords. I'm looking at a 88 7.3 idi reg cab 5 speed 4x4, it's in great shape. 2000 obo but doesn't currently run. What do you think a reasonable offer would be ?
That Powerstroke Bloke no problem man. Idis are awesome trucks. Realistically there’s not a lot of things that can go wrong with them with the exception of glow plug controllers and little things like that. Every single one of my dads service trucks had them when I was growing up, never had any major issues with them. Good luck man hope you can work out a deal.
Now I gotta detail the inside of the truck ! RIGHT THERE is why n old truck is a real truck! pretty is for car's dirty n tuff is for truck's. look's like you work out stop complaining about the steering and learn how to drive a granny stick, 1st gear is for hill's n load's never gear down to first only second and second start, also when you do shift into first shift into second quickly then into first for no grindage
Your engine have problems? you revin the engine like crazy lol Or is The engine original so it's a carburetor. No fuel injection. Lol probably Clutch in* hits gas* Ree! Ree! Ree! Ree! 😂

I had a 71 f 100 with a 429 12 to 1 compression, it sounded awesome.
Drove my dad's 67 f250 camper special in high school. Loved that truck. Just waiting for him to sell it to me 😁
Something about an old truck. 👍
Old truck way better than new.
Brings back memories of high school
It'll be what my little girl drives to high school in, in about 10 years!!!
Love the old Ford, one like this made me love Ford trucks, when I was young as my neighbor had one and would take me for a ride in it. It had shift on the column!
I can't wait to see the truck
He went from a plastic truck to a metal truck lol
This makes me miss my old truck I regret getting rid of it
It would make a nice show truck
Is it hard to drive stick because I have a 1979 Ford F-150 that is stick driving
No just takes practice
Nice mine is green and white 72 f 250 At 390 camper special on the sw coast of Wa state
Hey you getting rid of the front chrome bumper?
@@donaldfrazier5244 yeah well I mean it's at the house I can't use it now
Hey!!! First time on the road congrats!!!
Thanks!!!
I’d go with the F250... even booger green
I’ve been looking at a ‘86 f150 with the 302. Wish I could find one where I live like that one
Where do you live, I have one nicer than that for sale.
Think about getting a f250 1970 with a 390 for $1200 but has some compression issues good deal?
I mean I paid $900 for the same setup and it didn’t run... but knew I was putting a different engine in it.. look at the cab mounts and rust to know it’s true value. Mine was rust free for 900
That is one hot truck
They need to bring back the stick for these newer trucks
Very nice truck, what´s the engine on it? 360 or 390?
That was a 390 note it has a powerstroke
I learned how to drive stick in a 74 f250 with a 428. No its not the factory engine
Love the 72,hate your gonna put a 6.uhoh in it
Rather drive old I got a 77 f250 highboy
i have a 75 f250 highboy 360 4 speed
I have a 76 f250 high boy with the 429 cobra jet and a 4 speed behind it
@@spencershanholtzer cool
Davy 775 I’d love to have highboy too someday but for now I have a 77 d200 dodge with 90k miles
Have a '75 and a '71 highboy. The '75 has outlasted 2 wives. Most reliable things in life. They ain't goin' anywhere!
Super super super video

Straight 6 or V8?
Straight 6 but I wanna do an engine swap
@@josesaenz7757 is it a 240 or 300?

That's the first place it's going to lol
0:20 and they said you don't use your truck ha ha clearly you do use the bed of your truck 👍🇺🇸👊
I know right haha
I would drive the 72 all day!!!
BIG BLOCK FORD right on! I’m 14 but I have a 68 F100 I’ll daily when I’m 16
Granny gear is not for road driving, take off in second. It bothers me that people who don't even know this even have these trucks.
Could use a road lesson on how to drive a manual
@@nickpatty8880 For sure.
The old trucks were better looking and a normal size. These trucks are kinda rare. It would suck if you tore it all apart.
Nice old truck but it sounds like you need to adjust the points.
Just haven't got to any adjustments yet. That's this coming week
Are you going to fix it then sell it? And if so for how much just wondering

Nice truck's
Thanks!
What kind of wheels are those? I gotta 72 and I like them rims
To be honest this is a pretty old video and I don't have the wheels anymore to double check what they are and I can't remember now.

One thing I do know one thing I do know is that you need to learn to drive that old school stick not start off in granny start off at second
And not coast in neutral all the time.
You can't shift that to save your ass lol😂
There are times where I drive my 1980 camaro more than my 2015 tacoma
