this is my all time favorite recording of this beautiful piece of music.Menuhin at his best and Furtwangler just been Furtwangler the greatest conductor in History.
Well I believe that the Record was in the Catalogue for 19 years from it's Release in 1953 till 1972 and is now Available on C-D and the Record is on His Master's Voice Record Number ALP-1100
From eternity Beethoven gets excited and applauds, saying: they understood, understood !!! Greetings from the City of Juiz de Fora, Brazil. Thanks for sharing.
Do you think that you can find a better rendition of this concerto than this one? Sorry but... Think again! This is, by far, the ultimate version that you can find and that I have heard. And no offense, but I have listen to every performer (more versions that what you can imagine). The whole time he remains catching the essence and never looses the Spirit of the music because he is channeling Beethoven all the way. This is what I call a superb and fantastic interpretation!
Erstaunlich - -)
I have got eight Recording's of this Beautiful work six of them Recorded by Yehudi Menuhin one of them taken from a Concert in Berlin in 1947 with Willhelm Furtwangler and this has got to be My third favourite Version Recorded on Tuesday and Wednesday April 7th and 8th 1953 just two Months before the Coronation of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth ii and I admirer Willhelm Furtwangler for his stand against Hitler and the Nazis in Germany and its a great pity that a lot More German People didn't stand up to Hitler and the Nazis and the Second world war would have been avoided which was a lot worse than world war one
This one should be recorde in 1953 with Philharmonic Orchestra at Kingsway Hall. Menuhin and Furtwangler had another Beethoven VC in 1947 at Lucerne Festival
The generous utterly kind Menuhin and the genius Furtwaengler, two extraordinary men in the realm of music, what a magic encounter. How little the wonderful culture could do to prevent us of the atrocities of the Nazi rule but much it did to restore our reputation and confidence and even to achieving forgiveness by the world. But now: I’ve to listen carefully to this music which is above all good and awful.
Exquisite. Of course, it's what you expect with two all time greats like Menuhin and Furtwangler working together.

Who knows what cadenza he plays ?

Winey vibrato and messy orchestra. Sorry.
