I don't remember how long ago I started listening to you, but you have been an immeasurably enjoyable teacher, and I am feeling confident that your winecasts will help with my WSET2
I'd like to show you that your casts are without any doubt amongst the best wine contents on YT. I learned and I am learning a lot from you and your slideshow. They are part of my career as a sommelier. And I'm working in a 3⭐⭐⭐ restaurant in Alba, the land of Barolo. What I really want to say is Thank you very much! It would be amazing if you decided to start up again this "business" on YT with new contents.
I’m currently preparing for the CSW exam and I’ve been watching your casts as part of my studies. You have such a clear and concise way of explaining complex subjects. Whenever I read something in my official study guide that I can’t quite wrap my head around, I look to see if you have a cast about it. Without fail the subject matter becomes clear! Thanks for your excellent work and please keep the casts coming!
I do wine tours in Wachau and I ve done wine tastings in many other known appellations around the world. Your channel is pure gold! I sincerely appreciate your videos and the style of presentation. I am your new fan! Keep up the good work. As a thanks i present to you this and let me know if you ve heard it before: what noise does a grape make when it's squashed? Nothing loud, just a little wine.
Thanks so much! Your message came just as I was putting the finishing touches on a grueling wine cast (Part III of Sherry) and I definitely needed the big laugh that your grape joke got (I'm still chuckling, in fact). Thank you for watching and for taking the time to write in. Cheers!
Really enjoyed your cast. Very helpful for WSET 3 preparation. Did Wachau join the DAC system earlier this year (2020). Is Vinea Wachau still being used? Thanks.
Thank you! I came across them during my research for the two Austria casts and thought about mentioning them and Austrian Sekt production in general decided against it as the casts were already getting long and unwieldy. Since then, though, I've been kicking around the idea of a cast on Sekt that would combine what's going on in Germany and Austria, so I may return to them at a future time. Thanks for watching and commenting. Cheers!
The Unknown Winecaster that’s a great idea! Currently studying for my certified somm exam so the podcasts are great for solidifying concepts! Have you got your exam results back yet?
Hi. Thanks for the question. It means that the wine is from the top production tier for German wine, the Prädikat tier. Basically, if a wine meets the requirements for Qualitätswein and isn't chaptalized, it can qualify for an additional quality classification based on the amount of sugar in the grapes at harvest plus a few other factors. Your bottles should have another designation on them, either Kabinett, Spätlese, Auslese, Beerenauslese or Trochenbeerenauslese, each one being a step up the scale in terms of sugar in the grapes at harvest. For more detailed information, check out my cast on German Quality Classification (Part I). Thanks again for the question. Cheers!
As I"m sure Socrates would have said, "The trick is not so much realizing how much you know about wine but realizing how much you don't know." The more I do these, the more I realize how much I have to learn. Cheers!
Thank you! I have a cast on general food and wine pairing (ruclips.net/video/BNPIIdEDdEo/видео.html) as well as two more specialized casts for Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners/desserts: ruclips.net/video/uqxiW0Q6MnE/видео.html and ruclips.net/video/1DvduutV9S4/видео.html. I may do more in the future. Hope those are helpful. Cheers!

Hi, I have some German bottles that say: qualitatswein mit pradikat... what does that mean?

If I retain 10% of the info in your casts I would be a knowledgeable son of a gun.
