Hi Matt, wow you really give me inspiration to walk outside when I see your videos, you are amazing, you must have a great condition to climb up there ..wow that heavy wind .ohh my that Ben Hope looks so high , I feel afraid even to look lol 😂and you there in reality ..amazing you standing in the heavy windy there up woooow..Congratulations you made it👍..thank you for sharing, ,have a great day , Mariam❤☕🍰🥤🍔🍟🥰
Thanks for watching Mariam, glad you enjoyed my little (big) hike up Ben Hope. I have great memories of the entire North Coast 500 road trip that I did - Northern Scotland is a tremendous place. 😀
@@MattWhitingsEurope you are the most Welcome Matt😊you been in so many places , so amaze me always your walking up hills mountains and all what you doing , and I only at home watching your long walks, but I do every day around 2kilometers or 3 km walk lol😄sometimes 5.. 6..km..I get inspired from your walking to put my shoes on and go outside, just now came from walking, but would love to do more ,....thanks lovely reply, have a great Friday now 🥰☕🥧🍰😃❤
Wow! That's excellent you made it to the top, the views is really breath, love those mountains! Wells done, you have a good Stamina! Here to support 😊 👍
Thank you, a really enjoyable but tiring day in the Scottish Highlands. Thanks for the support, I look forward to having a look at some of your videos. All the best!
Congrats on making it to the top! But you know better than to get rid of your waterproofs mid-hike! I felt like I was back in Florida watching a hurricane tracker. Glad you make it out okay. Also felt like a game show like GUTS where they needed to make it to the top of the mountain to win. Great video!
Thank you, I'm sure I experienced the four seasons in one hike - crazy weather but all part of the adventure. Shame I didn't get a clearer day for those views at the top but the scenery whilst walking up was wonderful. Thanks for watching!
Very impressive! The hike itself (well done) and the views. Only thing distracting was the 49's ski cap, LOL. A New England Patriots hat would have been a better look. :) You may enjoy Mt Washington in New Hampshire. The weather and winds can be intense even in summer. Probably is today since we are getting snow in southern NH even. You can get a bumper sticker saying this auto climbed Mt Washington.
Thanks for watching Heidi, I'm glad you enjoyed the hike! It was a tough one but really glad I did it - the views were incredible before I hit the clouds. Ha, I always wondered what the 49 signified, I can only remember buying the hat somewhere in California maybe 15+ years ago. Love the look of Mount Washington, does it have snow on the summit all year round?
Pretty much all year (off and on). A neighbor brought someone up Mt Wash. from Florida. Sunny, warm August day. Weather turned and got suddenly windy, cold, and a snow squall. He had to grab his friend and get him to safety. No visibility and got disoriented. SF 49ers ok team. Not controversial LOL. Great history.
It's actually quite scary how quickly things can change up there, it doesn't take much to get disorientated and lose your way. I always make sure I have a compass on my phone, an offline map and plenty of battery power just in case! I guess someone from Florida wouldn't do a whole lot of mountain hiking because if I remember correctly it's a very flat state, bet that person was glad of the help - those type of things can quickly escalate.
Hello Gordy, thanks for watching - it was a wonderful Munro to tackle! I was using a Canon G7X Mark II for most of the clips but switched to a GoPro Hero 8 Black when it got wet. Hope that helps.
It's a shame I didn't get a clearer day, would have loved to see those views right from the top. I suspect I would have been able to see the shape of northern Scotland! I haven't had much luck with climbing Scottish mountains on clear days - hopefully the stars will align for my next one. Thanks for watching!

Great filming! Fantastic Munro! What kind of go pro do you have?

On really clear days you can see unbelievably far from the top and if its hot , skinny dip on the way back down .

Ben Hope is no challenge. Try a more strenuous Munro.
Like what?
@@MattWhitingsEuropeQuite a number of them such as Liathach in winter or the Skye Coulin.
Thanks, will check them out when I'm in the area.
