This video is recorded from a Laserdisc which should be the highest quality source currently availabe. Unfortunately, there is no DVD :( Just second hand VHS or Laserdiscs.
If you like it, go and buy a CD - it's called Pete Townshend's Deep End Live!
It does not contain all song from this concert, only 12 of them (be careful to buy the version with 2 bonus tracks).

It takes courage and generosity to create something like this. Pete had to tap into his 15-year-old self, and find that sense of insecurity and longing, to write this. It is simultaneously wounded and self-affirming-a great song, and he played it really well. You'll never convince me that the man who wrote this is a bad person-troubled perhaps, but not inherently bad.

I loved this as a teen in the 80's. A friend of mine didn't get it. He said, "It doesn't have the drums like on the original album."
Too bad for him. I've always preferred this version.

One of the greatest "ad hoc" bands ever - Pete Townshend and David Gilmour on guitars, drummer Simon Phillips, keyboardist John "Rabbit" Bundrick, percussionist Jody Linscott, harmonica player Peter Hope Evans, bassist Chucho Merchan, the Kick Horns and the various backup singers - it doesn't get any better than this.

I've been privileged to have a former trumpet kickhorner - Roddy Lorimer - who has retired in Thailand, and hasn't an ounce of snobbery in him - play with my band around Thailand. He has great memories and stories about this band and tour.
