I was laughing so hard the tears were flowing! Thank you for demonstrating the miracle of sonic cleaning.... I wonder if the method would also work for cleaning stained teeth... or assisting the digestive system to perform with impressive regularity! The church organ is a fantastic instrument, I remember a school trip to a church in the North of England when I was 10 or 11, and listening to Widor Toccata... It was so loud that the ancient stones of the church really vibrated with it, and all I could do was dissolve into helpless giggles!
It is indeed a miracle! I was expecting either the Pope, Archbishop of Canterbury or the Dalai Lama to be in touch. Not a peep so far; funny old thing that 🤣 I’m going to listen to ‘Toccata In Fugue’ now and will take a loo roll, just in case!
The dear old MOD were likewise remarkably generous to me some fifty years ago. Still to this day drilling, taping and filling etc, due to their benevolence, thankfully they only proffered the highest quality tools available.
I think you'll find the AC/DC sonic cleaning is very much track sensitive, Whole lotta Rosie seems to be the most effective..
The MOD were generous to a fault. I'll try Whole lotta Rosie although a good protestant hymn is probably the most effective; you saw how He sorted out that Zenith in minutes. Jolly decent of Him to take time off from giving babies malaria.
1:42 Is that Volvo V70 fast?
Very; I have a letter from the Chief Constable of Avon and Somerset to prove it!
@@FlyingForFunTrecanair :'-( How much did that letter cost - no, don't answer, they are expensive, I should know!
@@sablatnic8030 Not too expensive and I had to attend a 'speed awareness course'; surely a 'drive more slowly' course would have been more appropriate?
Uhh, you could of tried some Motor Head! After all you,re working on a motor. AC DC doesn,t have enough bottom!
Very true!
Don’t tell the wife Nick: I once rebuilt an Opel manta gearbox and needed to degrease and clean Irv up before reassembly. That morning, our brand new dishwasher was delivered so, given her absence for the day on a course, I plumbed it in and ran it on the longest was possible just to bed it in…….the gearbox and parts came up a treat! 👍
An Aeronca JAP crankcase fits in the wishdosher if the oil pump studs are removed. Didn't dare try in a new one tho' 🤣
Fun stuff!!
Could you please share a link for buying one of those carbs??
Thanks!!
Dan
You didn’t believe the miracle? Funny thing is, the Pope hasn’t called either yet. Even I’m beginning to wonder now 🤣 (source revealed in next episode!)
Great work, Nick! Did I mention earlier, that I replaced the Zenith 26VME on my 63 Hillman Husky with a Holley 1927? Made an adaptor at work (deHavilland) out of a solid block of aluminum, with a tapered bore. That took a while to get right! LOL And of course the linkage was reversed, so I fudged together a cable/pulley system, which actually worked! Drove that poor old car until 1986, when the body finally rusted out beyond repair. Eager to hear your Ford purring again! 👍
You did mention it; the cable/pulley system sounds worthy of MacGyver!
@@FlyingForFunTrecanair And all the parts came out of the garbage bin at deH!
appreciate the attempt at humor and it is sure nice to see a clean carburetor mounted on a new engine.
A successful attempt I hope?! Part 7 coming soon.
I'm surprised that, in the absence of a U/S cleaner that 'the internet' didn't suggest running the parts through a dishwasher; I've certainly seen a salmon cooked in one...
@@Robutube1 An Aeronca Jap crankcase fits in the dishwasher, if the upper rack is removed 😉
@@FlyingForFunTrecanair ...and the other half is not in town😁.
I can see your AC-DC error. There are only two songs that will work. Thunderstruck for light stains and Back in black for extreme corrosion. Although the organ music surprised me: Made that carb look brand new!
I see your point but don’t underestimate the might of of my imaginary friend; I very much doubt Lucifer possesses similar engineering skills 👹🤣
Hahaha! Good point! But i would swear that lucifer has designed some of the stuff that I have worked on. I do admire the brazing. I know nothing about it and didn't know it would work as you have done it. i have a torch and I have been attempting to learn to weld .049. My hands shake too much. my wife says back down on the coffee. PFFT! What does she know. thanks, Nick I enjoy your videos. @@FlyingForFunTrecanair
Ha ha!! Loved the sonic cleaner! But the carburetor looks like you bought a new one!
Don't you believe in miracles?!
@@FlyingForFunTrecanair yes I do!
Metallica works, too. ROFL
Not as well as my imaginary friend!
It’s wonderful to watch a craftsman create.
It is, but not on my channel! Just an enthusiastic amateur 🤣
As a side note, use of ultrasonic cleaners (or hard rock anthems) on the bodies of BING carbs (such as used on BMW bikes and Rotax 912 engines) is discouraged due to the potential that the vigorous vibrations may dislodge the various lead ball/epoxy plugs used to seal the ends of drilled internal air passages. Apparently, a gentle rubbing while listening to the Spice Girls is sufficient.....
This news does not surprise me. Fairy liquid and Liberace probably the limit 🤣
