As a tech, I was trying to sleep in a dressing room above the stage when you all started the tap routine around 4am. I thought it was heavy rain! Not much sleep tbh. 😂
If this video doesn't result in a huge viewer increase to the 'Mickey Jo explains Cats' video, it will be a travesty. The Cats video is hysterical and I rewatch it all the time, it deserves loads more views.
I would absolutely love to do a 24hr musical, as a working adult it's so hard to fit in long rehearsal processes. Someone near me make this happen! Also, you make a fabulous cat 🐈
I have three stage credits: 1) A dubbed and abridged production of CATS on Ice (Jemima) 2) Reading my childhood diaries about CATS on Ice on stage in Portland, OR 3) Reading my childhood diaries about CATS on Ice on stage in Denver, CO I need another CATS credit. I need to get in on something like this XD Congrats!
A 24 hour musical is such a fun idea. As an adult with not much free time this would be great. I've done a play in a week and a musical in 2 weeks before.
7:00 OMG THAT'S OWEN WHITE! He assistant directed my last musical that I did from January then performed in August, and he's directing my next musical which starts in October!!
Can I just say I never watch vlogs (because I never have patience and they’re generally boring) but ahhh Mickey you are so entertaining I watched the whole video and it looks like you had so much fun!
Mickey Jo -- what fun! Your chronicalling your 24-hour CAT adventure reminded me of a similar experience where I had 24-hours to learn the 2nd lead in an original musical production of THE SCARLET PIMPERNEL. It was terrifying, enervating and every emotion in-between all at once. I'm glad I did it and I'm glad you got to be in CATS. Meow.
This video makes me so so so happy. I look forward to whatever comes next year. And it made me so happy to hear your sister was there this year as well, because you said last year you did it together. I wish to find something like this where I live, seems like a very challenging but very rewarding experience
Least with this show, it will leave you with some fond MEMORIES. I once saw a touring version of Cats , I sent back for the cast tins of sardines in tomato sauce.
You have my full admiration for pulling this off and not being a dancer. I tried out for Flower Drum Song not being a dancer and was in pain for a week because I pulled something in my leg. Bravo!
Looks like such a fun experience but so tiring to do it in just 24 hours and keep rehearsing through the night! Well done with the make up! Looks great! Auditioned for a production of cats but didn’t get in
What a brilliant idea but also at the same time terrifying lol I don't think I could have done anything like this in my 14 years of theatre. Having 3 months to learn a show was just about enough time for me. Loved Cats since I saw it during the original run in 1981.
In Adelaide (Australia) our Amateur companies have done a few of these as charity fundraisers. We have had: South Pacific, Guys & Dolls, Little Shop, Chicago and Grease. Im fascinated that you get precast....for ours the cast audition. Only orch and crew know there spots. also we dont sleep over, we go home between midnight and 8am
The amount of jealousy I feel watching this XD Performing cats is a childhood dream for me too, so it's wonderful to live vicariously through your experience here
hi! i’m the daughter of the director and choreographer and the one running the mics on the sound desk. to answer your question, we spend lots of time going through videos that have been sent from the participants to try and make the cast. it’s a lot of trail and error to see if we can get the right people for the right parts and in the end it is always perfect! i hope this helped :D
I’m so excited for you We think it’s 🐈⬛ CATS too you would Be A Brilliant ‘Mungo Jerry’ or ‘Rumple Teazer’& will you please Review’The Little Big things’ next please you are a Brilliant Critic! (Beautiful Cats🐈⬛ Enjoy) !!! 🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾Loving watching you rehearse Break a leg xx
Actually this could be a gimmick for my LGBTQ choir. Arrive at 8am on Saturday morning and 8pm sing concert from memory. Hmm. It actually sounds like fun.

Sleeping??? SLEEPING?!?! This is not how you do a 24 hour musical
I love how it's the "young performers edition" I guess it makes sense for the time frame that they had.

@@the24hourmusical Alas, I'm in the US, but if I ever find a way to be there, I'm in! (And it is a holiday weekend...)
I agree completely, as stressful as this would be I feel it would be so fun

Can't believe it's already been a year since the last one! Love the chaos of these videos, it looks like so much fun 😅
I was waiting for this!!
7:00 OMG THAT'S OWEN WHITE! He assistant directed my last musical that I did from January then performed in August, and he's directing my next musical which starts in October!!
Thats amazing! I love that its a yearly tradition. Looks incredibly difficult but super fun!🐱
I was in it for the first time this year! It was a lot of fun, looking forwards to going again hopefully next year :)
This sounds fun and stressful af. I'd love to try.
I was in the audience and it was so good! 🐱
Can I just say I never watch vlogs (because I never have patience and they’re generally boring) but ahhh Mickey you are so entertaining I watched the whole video and it looks like you had so much fun!
You should watch his London underground theater challenge vlog! It was hilarious and so entertaining
This was the vlog I didn’t know I needed…fab job Mickey!!
This looks so fun, I love it! Also Mickey saying 'I did my makeup!' Sounded like one of those WI ladies proudly owning
their scone recipe 😂
We loved having you in the 24 once again… it’s a tradition now! See you next year!!!
That was so much fun to watch--I don't know how you managed to rehearse and record all night long, but I loved it!
I can't think of Cats the same way since a co-worker described it as X Factor but the winner dies lol 🤣
Hahahahaaa! That’s hilarious!

You are the most adorable cat!!! This was so much fun to watch!!! ❤️❤️❤️
This was a delight to watch, thank you for sharing. I am very impressed with this concept and would totally support a show like this in my home town.
That looked like fun. Your makeup was amazing!
Looks like so much fun! You did great on your makeup and looks like you had a great time!
THIS is what I would love to do! So much fun to be had. I wish they would have something like this here in CA!
We’re willing to travel!!!

I was not following you at this time last year, but dang! I LOVE this idea. I need to make this happen in my community.
Still can’t believe you all did this in 24 hours. Absolutely amazing 😻 Well done!
Congratulations Mickey you smashed it!! (Also the ships wheel was my doing, courtesy of the Guildford Shakespeare company…)
This is my favorite video every year.
This sounds incredibly crazy but also fun, well done!
The look you're pulling off from 29:30 my poor heart you're so beautiful ❤❤❤
I was just thinking about your video from last year and wondered if this year's was coming up! Excellent work!
This brought me so much joy 🥹
This was sooooo cool. Looks amazingly fun
You have my full admiration for pulling this off and not being a dancer. I tried out for Flower Drum Song not being a dancer and was in pain for a week because I pulled something in my leg. Bravo!
I'm amazed that putting on a musical in 24 hours with no sleep is even possible!
You're awesome! I just Joined your channel too. 😎
Just found and enjoyed your explaining Cats the Musical video🍷🙀😹😻 thank you, a 🐶 person
Thanks for letting us tag along on your 24-hour adventure, buddy!
I've asked about next year's coming all the way from Birmingham to do it
It seems like such a blast!
What an amazing project!

What a fantastic experience! (Why does being a Cat suit you so much?!).
So you missed the obvious....."oh meow god, hey" opener!
Looks like you had a blast!
Meow! This is awesome!! 😻😻
I loved seeing this!! ❤❤
I wish this happened in Australia I would totally buy tickets.
"There'll be another one this time next year." So it's gonna be Sunset Blvd!

Oh my gosh you do look like Peter Criss from Kiss, but also when your friend said he looked like Tony the Tiger I burst out laughing! Spot on!!
How cuteeeee and bravo to you all
Odd question, but will you be doing this again this year? Your two 24 hour musical vlogs are probably my favorite theatre videos on RUclips.

You were A Beautiful Cat 🐈⬛ Mickey Did the money go to Charity It was FABULOUS you were AMAZING loved it ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤xx😊
I’ve done this before and omg so much fun!
If i could perform somewhat decently this looks like great fun. Have to put some practice in as i cant sing dance or act 😂😂
How do you get involved in these?! Looks so fun!
I think you had as much rehearsal as Elaine Psige did 42 years ago.
The amount of jealousy I feel watching this XD Performing cats is a childhood dream for me too, so it's wonderful to live vicariously through your experience here
Guess who got to film you cat napping? Only Rum Tum Tugger…..😂
From the clues given, Im guessing Next to Normal. I could be wrong.
"A CAT THAT'S IN A GANG"
I’m curious how this is cast. Could you share?
