Sherry... That is temple of Lord Hanuman... Actual temple of Lord Shiva is 5 minutes away from this temple... You should have walked further. Also Visit kankeshwar in monsoon it is more pleasant.
This places is very close to my native place and it has something special attachment for me. I came here with my uncle and grandma back in 2006. He was around 82 years old and still climed up with us without any hesitation. I lost her this year few months back and this video reminded me of her. Thanks for posting it. :)

Hey, i am frm alibaug the temple shown in this video is nt shiva temple its maruti temple .. shiva temple is ahead of that.... atleast 50 more steps ahead...u havent explore the whole kankeshwar n u left the main part..!!!

@@maitrikataria2934 approx 10 km when you go towards Mandwa jetty from Alibaug bus stand. If you are going ferry this place is before alibaug city. If you are going by road, you can take Kankeshwar fata (junction) route from Karle Khind instead of going straight towards alibaug city. Shravan month is the perfect time to go to this place.

Hello Sherry thanks for visiting one of my favorite places in Maharashtra. However I must point out that the temple you are showing it a Hanuman temple and the actual kankeshwar temple is about 15 steps further from here. Hope you went ahead and saw it because it's a real beauty. Built completely in stone the temple is for Lord Shiva and is known to be one of the oldest in the area!

I can't believe that u have the energy to walk so much.. But if u are then come to Bangalore and far away enroute Mysore falls srirangapatna and that is a historical town which has a temple and an idol of gomateshwara it is a whopping 300 steps I guess. And the town is named shravanabelagola ..i have gone there it is very pretty and scenic.. And maybe u can check with google abt the Abhisheka where they bathe the idol and if u get to witness that ur so lucky... And thanks for the tour.. And it is great what u do in this scorching heat.. And also trekking In summer something most ppl don't want to do.. Cause we all sweat like pigs. Thank u ND have a good day..
Yes. This isn't the main temple. Main temple is in Dravidian style structure, constructed using black stone. It's old and beautiful.

you have mistaken, main shiva temple is few steps ahead. You will find one more pond(kund) and a beautiful shiv temple. worth watching. please do visit.

Hey, you have missed Main temple. I suggest visit this place again & explore more. Basically in monsoon.
Hey this is not the main kankeshwar temple.... You need to walk roughly 100 steps to reach the main temple... You missed the main Temple!!!
U should also visit birla temple and revdanda its not too far from alibag

You did a mistake Sherry. This is not the main temple. Main temple is little ahead and it's far bigger than this one. Also there are many other temples in surrounding area that you could have explored.
There are 2-3 other trek routes if you wish to enjoy the nature.
I know the things because I belong to that base village from where you started.
Visit this place in monsoon. Specially in month of Aug and Sep. Its awesome then.
