  • From boxing icon Muhammad Ali to Olympians Tommie Smith and John Carlos, political activism erupted in the turbulent 1960s by challenging the rules and power of the largely white establishment, often marking the athletes as radicals and troublemakers. The explosive intersection of sports, politics and the fight for social justice are tackled by a distinguished award-winning panel featuring CBS Sports journalist Len Elmore; ESPN producer Kim Belton; former New York Post sportswriter Don Markus, and long-time Philadelphia Inquirer sports editor John Quinn.
They join novelist-playwright Gary Morgenstein, Emmy Award-winning TV sports executive Russell Friedman and award-winning Broadway performer and director DeMone Seraphin, the creative team behind the new You Tube scripted series Joyland, set during the tumultuous ‘60s. The panel is moderated by Tony Lagotta, CEO of WBLZ Media.
