My wife was killed working as a front-line combat medic in Ukraine on April 11, 2024. This just happened to come up in my feed out of NOWHERE, I haven't searched this, or U2, in years, though when I had night terrors (PTSD) she'd always play this for me. She was a Canadian/Polish citizen, a nurse, 52 years old when she went, 54 when she was killed in drone attack. I'm so emotionally spent, I joined her unit for a Two-Month's-Mind where they honour fallen comrades, we all had instruments sang, they all of them got falling down drunk as I stared at a Zoom screen. I NEEDED this. Thank you.
I did a cover of this song on my channel and then I decided to watch other covers of this song and I got to your video...and Wow! His performance is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful! You could feel your passion and feelings through the music... congratulations!
Beautiful. This is my favourite song of there's. especially being an addict . There are alot of songs about addiction but this one is is like a spa in the face it is even more relevant now with fetnayl epedemic. More so than the needle and damage done more sonthanvelvet underground's heroin. It is just haunting especially if your with another addict. The daily struggle. And many exits but in the end it will kill you. The number of people I know in the five years. Who didn't make it out except in a body bag. Like hotel California and the needle and the damage done. The song breaks because as an addict itnis a wake up call. But the dragon a seen song is louder
***** No problem I'm a big U2 fan and this is one of their most emotional tracks and hearing a female (your) voice sing those words so well it brings it home even more. x
***** Another great track... mind you the Joshua Tree is a masterpiece from start to finish.... I wore out the first tape I had... now I have it on CD plus the 20 year deluxe version
Really nice cover. I sang along with you as I'm doing this for an acoustic gig. We made nice harmonies!!! And I liked your rambling before you sang the song. Good work.
