Dude…my girls were arguing over this song being played, one thinking it was too babyish. Out of annoyance I looked up “metal version of row your boat”…and it says you posted this yesterday. Literally made my night, and the kids loved it. As a musician and creator, I appreciate the levels you went through for this!
Leo I love what you're doing here, not only for your industry by showing it is possible in today's world to promote yourself and gain notoriety outside the traditional channels, but more important to me, you are putting a good face on "metal". It seems like so much of metal has been about rebellion and dark themes, I appreciate your light treatment of the genre and feel like you are gaining a wide audience doing it. In a sense, you are making metal socially acceptable....maybe that makes you cringe. Keep up the good work.
"Cringe" is nothing but a weak attempt by loosers with no self esteem to make things they don't like seem worse than they are when most of the time they're just a bit different
You could argue many other genres have a generic label. For examples hiphop and pop are all drugs and sex or country is all depressing alcoholic songs or grunge sounds like a screaming match. But who gives a shit. Every genre also has artist who speak actually meaningful words but are judge for their genre by people who dont like it.
You know, he does something weird and completely out of left field, making you think "WTF?"...and then it turns out to be pretty cool. THAT is the magic of Leo. I SO want to play this at a party and film the varied and confused reactions.
If / when the cover-band I was in re-forms post pandemic, I'm going to convince them to do Leo's arrangements instead of doing them straight up. It's a toss up between this and Barbie Girl as to which one we use to throw people off. lol
I had to laugh when I just noticed this in my notifications. Like he seriously made this into a metal cover and well leo never let's us down cause this slaps and gives me the whole Korn feel too there shoots and ladders track
'Hard to imagine as metal' songs that I would like to hear covered by Leo: - "Day-O (The Banana Boat Song)" - Traditional Jamaican song - "Der Fuehrer's Face" by Spike Jones - "I am Very Glad, as I'm Finally Returning Back Home" by Eduard Khil
Effing brilliant!! I'm 57 and head banging to a nursery rhyme at 1am, who would have thought?? And so much more than metalizing songs, the video clips content, creativity and production are awesome. Well done sir, bloody well done! Although i reckon you missed a golden opportunity for a metal 8 bar meow, roar and scream for the animals.... but don't worry I did it for you .... and the neighbors are wondering why their dogs are barking at 1am.....👍👍
About 15 years ago when I was the lead Bouncer at a Dive Bar the owner wanted me to come in one Sunday a month because she let a promoter talk her into live music on Sunday evenings. Cool, sure. That first Sunday I'm there on time, the promoter is there, pacing back and forth on the phone, the bartender is serving drinks to her customers...but no band. The promoter finally gets off of the phone and tells me "They're running late. Apparently, the drummer refuses to perform unless he gets his McDonald's before a gig. F*cking musicians, am I right?" Fifteen minutes later, the door opened up and a teenager tried to walk in. I stopped him, carded him, told him that even though he was 18 he couldn't enter. That's when he told me he was with the band, he was their roadie. Of course he was. As it turned out, the ages of the band ranged from 17 to 19. I let them in to set up and went to tell the bartender that they were sodas only. She looked at them and said to me "They're kids. I thought we were getting a real band in here" To which I replied; "They are real musicians. They're good too. Haven't you heard their cover of Wheels On The Bus?" Then I went into my Metal Voice and started banging my head and shredding a mean air guitar while I sang "wHeeLs oN tHE BuS gO rOUnD aNd RoUNd!"
After I found your version of "You are My Sunshine" I've been keeping an eye out for more "kids" songs! My daycare kiddos are loving that songs they know can sound different, and are LOVING using their voices to change songs! It has been a great learning experience to be able to explore so many genres of one song! They love it and always look forward to a new one! Thank you!!! 😊
Love this Leo, probably more than a lot of the 'pop' covers. The syncopated kick is nice and the bass carrying the verses is dynamic but hangs nicely with the drums. I like it a lot. Thank you.
I know that many of you thinks "why this crazy dude cover babysitting songs like this?". Well, i don't know why, but i am a father of a 3 years old girl and when she started sing babysitting songs (or nursery rhymes, if you know what I'm talking), because her friends sings it in school, i thought "how can I make metal compete with that songs?". Well, I can't. Leo is helping many parents to keep the metal alive. The kids can sing together, they only sings the lirics anyway, but the metal is there, alive. From a crazy head banger father, thaks Leo, you made my life easier.
Okay, Leo. At least one of us has completely lost his mind. Either you, for doing this, or me, for thinking it's one of the most awesome things I've ever heard. What's next, "Pop Goes the Weasel"?
I’m 58 years old and I wish you were my dad. Hahaha! I love the way you arrange a song like this into an amazing metal song. Now it’s suggesting time. “Safety Dance” by Men Without Hats and “Wichita Lineman” by Glen Campbell. And I also want to mention two songs that other subscribers have suggested in the comments on a few videos: “I Alone” by Live and “Love Machine” by The Miracles. Although it doesnt really matter because you have a great channel and all of your covers just blow my mind and show the infinite possibilities of arranging songs. When I was in bands in my teens and twenties we always loved to take songs and do them in very different arrangements. It’s a fun concept that you made into a brilliant channel. Thanks for a great channel. ✌🏽❤️🎸🍄
Leo's the man. This song is wicked. My grandson @20 months loves it and my wife thinks me and my buddies listning to this around the fire pit and headbanging is sad.
My kids and I were screaming this months ago and laughing about wishing there was kid metal like this and holy fuck we found it! Well played, well played indeed.
To the people who hate this music, my 18 month twin boys love frog leap! They dance and spin and even say "whooahh!" It's great bonding between them and me. Music is music.
Heavily, heavily, heavily, heavily, life's a metal scream
@JARED BARATTA So does his.
OooooooAAAHHHHHHHH!!
LOL 😂, Nice 👍 One ☝️, Dude
Growl, growl, growl your boat...
rrRRRRRRRRRROOOOWWWWWW!

Probably one of the most under-rated, misunderstood, deepest, spiritually and mentally rooted songs ever written.
Word
Lololololo
Didn't know there were so many lyrics to this song.
Awesome redition!
Haaa. Neither did I
Same!! I feel glad I'm not alone here
I don't think there were any more lyrics. I think he made that up 😂
My 4 year old daughter was headbanging alone!!
So totally awesome 🤘
🤣🤣🤣 i need to see a video of this
Next time you'll have to join her!
no she was not lmao
(200th like)
EVERYTHING sounds better, when you cover it.
my 8 year old son, will explode, when l show this to him, when he gets home from school, he's a HUGE fan.
Okay.
I'm going to need an entire album of nursery rhyme covers to make my job as a parent slightly better.
check out rotten eggs punk nursery rhymes. not metal but y'know, still good!
Leo

I have thrown a party and it was Leo all night. Some of the wtf looms were great but everyone loved it
i will with out a doubt be doing it wen everyone is very drunk

Well, it should be metal right? What do you wanna hear next? Let me know in the comments:)
Social Distortion or Mike Ness' songs - Ball and Chain, Winners and Losers, No Man's Friend, etc.
You're the best, Leo! Good luck!
Heaven is a place on earth
Volbeat hang man's body count with your spin on it
'Hard to imagine as metal' songs that I would like to hear covered by Leo:

- "Der Fuehrer's Face" by Spike Jones
- "I am Very Glad, as I'm Finally Returning Back Home" by Eduard Khil
Thanks, that will be stuck in my head for hours 😂
Make a cover of Visage - 'Fade to Grey', a metal version of this would be so cool ❤
Wow! Never thought a nursery rhyme could give me goosebumps. This was awesome!

He already did that one
Use the search icon up there

Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes
I was just thinking he should put together an album with all the nursery songs including the Wheels on the Bus
Well this was unexpected but cool lol. Would love to see you cover "I Alone" by Live
Love that song/band & very underrated band
How's it unexpected? Leo always throws these in was wondering what was next.
Me too!
Don't know the original one I admit.
This one has a very Autopsy feeling
That's a good one. How about, lightning crashes. That song is a little darker

I'm glad that this cover is now in my life. Thank you.
This is AWESOME. I never knew a child's nursery rhyme could make a metal song. However, it works.
This is my 1 yr old's afternoon nap song! He is a big fan! Rock on!
One of my favorites. Bonus points for the t-shirt.
Life is but a dream. Well done Leo.
Nothing in this video was done gently. I love it!
Finally, a song to help me get to sleep during nap time. ☺️
My nieces and nephews love head banging to Leo! Please cover B52s Rock Lobster 🦞 next? Love these!
Another awesome cover. And I like the puppet. 😊
👍 Nothing crashes the senses
like Leo swallowing&spitting out
a deeply seated childhood soother.
This is so amazing and gets stuck in your head 🤘 I would love to see you live 😃
