  • This Grasshopper Tutorial will show you how to design parametric hexagonal facade in grasshopper and rhino (3d).
    So, what will you learn in this new architecture tutorial for parametric architecture? This video is meant for beginners in grasshopper.
    First, we’ll show you how to use grasshopper 3d and rhino 3d to make parametric facade design using hexagonal grid, to make parametric design, also called parametric modeling in this easy grasshopper tutorial.
    Next, you’ll go through the grasshopper scripting process or grasshopper definition to apply this hexagonal facade on curved surface and finalize this parametric geometry that you can manipulate with number sliders. This is a great example of parametric design and parametric architecture.
    Rhino is a 3d modeling software for architects and designers, and grasshopper is a plugin that is used for virtual scripting for parametric modeling and parametric design in architecture for creating parametric facade for building designs. This is also called computational design and generative design.
    This is a grasshopper rhino tutorial and you will go through this rhino grasshopper scripting for 3d parametric design. Check out more architecture tutorials for grasshopper 3d and rhino 3d tutorials from our parametric architecture playlist. These lessons will take you from beginner in grasshopper/rhino to advanced level.

    My circles ended up all the same size after the first 3:30 of the video. I went back over it and it seems I did exactly as you did.

      Make sure you're keeping component properties the same for specific components (Flattened/graft/simplified) as shown in the video. Also try changing the input parameters for the domain and multiplication factor.

    how do you bring up those options for the C on the hexgrid at 0:49?

    • @architutors
      @architutors  3 года назад

      Just right click on any input/ output parameter to have those options.

    At 3:58 I can't connect both circle and curve on the same input of the Loft command. What can I do ?

    • @architutors
      @architutors  3 года назад +8

      Hold shift key and then connect them into single input.

      @@architutors Oh thank you. My teacher (i'm in an architecture school) don't tell me that is possible to do that. And thank you for your videos !

    What does the sphere connect to? I couldn't see :(

    • @architutors
      @architutors  3 года назад

      Sphere, base input connect with points output from HexGrid, and the output of sphere connects to move component.
