CLIP DESCRIPTION:
While looking for his daughter, Cale (Channing Tatum) saves President Sawyer (Jamie Foxx) from his rogue secret service agent Walker (James Woods).
FILM DESCRIPTION:
A devoted father fights a ruthless paramilitary group that has seized control the White House in this high-stakes action thriller from director Roland Emmerich (2012) and writer James Vanderbilt (The Amazing Spider-Man). Dejected after being turned down for a position with the Secret Service but unable to break the news to his adoring daughter, Capitol policeman John Cale (Channing Tatum) is taking her on a tour of the White House when a powerful explosion rips through the building, sparking mass chaos. When the smoke clears, Cale learns that heavily armed rebels have taken both his daughter (Joey King) and the president (Jamie Foxx) hostage. As news of the attack creates mass panic and fear of total collapse, Cale realizes that the fate of his daughter, the Commander in Chief, and the entire nation rest in his willingness to fight back against the terrorists who have brought the most powerful nation on the planet to its knees. Johnny Lee At 0:27 the Marine is holding his rifle as if he were about to march in a military parade with it. The muzzle is pointed up, rendering it more difficult to engage the enemy in a firefight (called 'port arms').
He should be gripping the pistol grip with his right hand holding a finger over the trigger and his left holding the barrel with the muzzle aimed forward (called the 'ready' in military terms), so that he can quickly engage an enemy if necessary.
LiquidBlackWolf To be fair, those Marines are from 8th and I. I don't know how much contact you ever had with those guys, but even though they are technically grunts, they are pretty much super POGs.
They do a ton of parades and ceremonies, so I wouldn't put it past one suddenly thrust in combat to hold his rifle the only way he normally uses it, however stupid it may be.
You don't rise to the occasion; you fall back on your training (ceremonies and looking pretty for the camera).
I mean c'mon. This devil is a Sgt with TWO hash marks and has only 5 ribbons.
in the first scene he should have said "please dont shoot me my name jeff"

But Air Force One is no ordinary jumbo jet.
But it kinda is. The only performance difference of Air Force One compared to a normal 747-200 is its upgraded engines from the 747-400. But even then, a completely empty 747 with almost no fuel and those upgraded engines couldn't climb even nearly that fast, especially not Air Force One. Remember what you said about it not being any ordinary jumbo jet? Yeah, all those modifications added a lot of weight, plus you have all the fuel in the world on that plane for an emergency like that as well as any and all passengers/crew. 747s can do quite a lot more than people think, but not that much lol

Air Force One can refuel mid flight so it wouldn't need to be full on fuel. Also if I recall from a documentary, Air Force One during 9/11 had to slow down so that the fighter jets could fly with it.
James Wood is better than any other fit for this character. I like this "CONSIDER THIS MY RESIGNATION"

The military would never have allowed that to happen in real life.
Yeah I know right lol. In an actual real life scenario, the White House would have been swarmed by military and local law enforcement personnel. Those marines would have their weapons at the ready constantly checking corners. DC would be put on secure lockdown and a perimeter set up to ensure no one escapes alive. In a matter of minutes. Air Force one would have a fighter jet escort and unless it was an inside job which even then every personnel would be checked for everything.
@@lemanruss2491 not to mention the Air Force One pilot said they'll climb from takeoff to 30,000ft in 45 seconds. If they try maintaining that near-vertical climb while taking off, they'll probably be a smoking hole already.
