Hi Anja, I have started my RUclips channel journey on my homestead and I want to thank you for the inspiration you gave me ❤ I’m a long time follower on my other account ❤
I made the strawberry cake, wow! It was fantastic! So delicious! I used my spring form pan. Since the cake was so good, I will order, one of the traditional pans. Thank you for a simple delicious recipe.
Thank you thank you thank you! My auntie Lori was from Germany. She always made a strawberry cake for July 4th. It was my favorite. Sadly she passed and I never got the recipe. I am going to try your recipe to see if it is the same. She did use 2 layers with the strawberry glaze in the middle and strawberry on top. I can't wait to make this!! Thank you again.
Over the years, I've collected a bunch of Dr. Oetker pans like yours. My mom used to use strawberry jello when she couldn't get the clear gel after we moved to the US. I believe that knox gelatine will also work.
It is so lovely with the elderflower syrup. Made it several times and here it it is common to store it in the freezer because of the amount of sugar makes it last long and it doesn’t freeze hard because of that. I love to mix in rhubarb or strawberries sometimes when I make it. It’s very common to make things with the flowers here in Sweden where they grow everywhere. The fresh flowers are so beautiful to decorate cakes with when it is the season. 🍓🍋🌸
Oh my goodness! I have made this cake (the first cake, we called it Boden) more than I can count. The recipe I use was passed down to us girls by our mother. I use lots of different fruit on it, even canned fruit. If using canned fruit such as peaches or pears, just use the juice that is in the can to make the glaze. Thank you for the idea of using a bottled juice to make the glaze for strawberries! That never occured to me and makes it so simple.
I love German cheesecake and will make this. I remember my first bite of any kind of cheesecake. I was 13 and staying with a German family. German bakeries are the best and I could eat my way around any of them. It’s called research 😅 x
I just love your videos! Your voice has a calming effect and I am mesmerized watching you cook. Looking forward to making the German cheesecake and strawberry cake as well! ❤
There are packets of powder which make clear glaze and don’t add any taste but are not always readily available. Do you know what can be used instead of corn starch, something which one can purchase in a bulk food store? I wonder what is in those packets.
@@raissajenna9638 you can purchase those here in the US (affiliate link): amzn.to/4bqgJ8l and it's mostly starch. You can also use gelatin (Jello) instead ~ Anja
Hi. Just recently got an ilve and have been trying to find the best setting for cookies and brownies. what setting are you using? Cake looks sooooo delicious 🤩
Do you have a recipe for the glaze for the strawberry cake? My grandson wanted me to make this for his birthday. An old German lady used to make it for him. The recipe my grandson found had a lot of ingredients that I would never use. Fake whipped cream, and a glaze from a box with horrible ingredients. I don't cook like that. I am hoping to surprise him with this cake. Thank you.

That sounds great! You may have to use a smaller diameter cake pan to get 2 layers but I bet it will be delicious!

Nice, nothing like a good collection of Dr. Oetker pans! Jello seems like a good substitute, thank you for sharing 😊~ Anja

Yes, Erdbeerboden 😊. I am glad you liked the video and happy baking!

Yum! That looks delicious. I love the way our menu shifts with the seasons. I'm always excited for the new, yet familiar, flavors.
Thank you so much! With the warmer weather, we don't feel like eating heavy food. Also, we like to make the most of seasonal produce 😊 ~ Anja

I typically use the regular bake function
