  • In this HVAC Training Video, I show How to Use an HVAC Electrical Training Board to Teach Electrical Wiring, Components, Wiring Diagrams, and Electrical Troubleshooting. I use a Multi-Meter, MagJumpers, and Alligator Jumpers to Teach the Thermostat Operation, Thermostat Color Code, and to Jump out 120v and 24v Contacts on the Switches/Relays! I Show a Connection Diagram, Schematic Diagram, and a Wiring Legend to Show How the Electrical Testing Board Operates! Make and Use this Board in the Classroom under the Instruction of a Licensed HVACR Teacher for Safety while Learning! Supervision is needed by a licensed HVACR Tech while performing tasks as Experience and Apprenticeship garners Wisdom and Safety.

35 years as an HVAC tech and I’ve never seen a better instructor, this guy is gold. I bet this guy turns out great tradesmen. I usually troubleshoot a circuit from the fault backwards, just my way I guess. I would have started from the blower fan first to rule out a faulty motor and worked back. Old habits are hard to break. Thanks for a great video. 👍

This is real training for in the field technicians, I am from Spain and to learn this, even after you go to an hvac training most of this you will have to learn it by force/ try and error, because in training you will be learning the theory of thermodynamics and refrigeration cycle and so on, there is serious lack of practice. Thank you!

This reminded me a a video on using a troubleshooting harness with a training board so the students can't just see the fault. It's on the now defunct BTCInstrumentation channel 'Teaching tips: using troubleshooting harnesses for circuit diagnostic exercises'. It involves breaking out a terminal block of test points then covering the training board with students only able electrically test from the test points which are referenced to the schematic.
I remembered that video when I thought you might cover the low voltage wires from the transformer so you could introduce phasing/polarity issues for more advanced training. Get the student in the habit of checking phasing/polarity.

I learned a lot from this video😍,I have two further questions that hope you could help to answer :
① In the North American market, is the furnace control board the same principle? As long as the thermostat is fed to the furnace control board corresponding terminal 24VAC, no matter what type of control board can successfully interpret the thermostat signal and turn on the corresponding load (only for the 24V furnace control board, the thermostat is a relay that can give the "W", "Y" or "G" terminal 24VAC signal according to the room temperature).
② I see that there is no furnace control board on the HVAC Training board, can I understand that as long as the temperature controller can make the corresponding load run on the HVAC Training board ,at the actual situation (with the furnace control board), the temperature controller can successfully control the load equipment through the furnace control board (only for 24V control board)?
    Look forward to your reply

Excellent trainer for high school instructors something that is really lacking in our high school in our public education. Low cost easy to implement for every student.
They should even be drafted down to grammar school level and just use computer power brick for 12 V and 24 V for safety reasons of course. With 12 V fans or 24 V fans and lights and motors.
Because even in high school it’s starting to get too late to train students to learn how to learn and become educated.
