This is the third Chirstian review of this song I am posting this on. I am disappointed in part of your reaction. Not sure you will ever read this as the video is so old, but here I go. Basically, the second verse is him sitting on the couch talking to his therapist and saying he needs help and no one will give it to him or listen to him and the rage and depression is getting worse and worse. They all say it is a phase of life. His doctor won't help and his therapist will not help. No one is helping. "Motherfucker, now you got my attention. I need to change a couple things 'cause something is missing. And what if I were to lie? Tell you everything is fine. " His therapist, who he trusts is calling for someone to help take him and he is yelling that he understands something is missing and all he wants help and no one will help or listen. "Every single fucking day I get closer to the grave, I am terrified." "We're sick and tired of wondering. Praying to a god that you don't believe. We're searching for the truth in the lost and found. So the question I ask is Oh, where the fuck is your god now?" What this means is, His rage is building so fast and so much and he has been praying to a god (that everyone told him to pray to) that the people who told him do not even believe in. He is looking everywhere and now that his rage has overtaken him he wants to know "where the fuck is your god now?" because even your god did not help him even though he tried. When YOU said "when that happens you are stuck with yourself" that is the advice we get when asking for help a lot of the time. Not hearing for what they are saying and trying to find an easy reaction is why depression lingers around .. and sometimes, when people (society, religion, therapists) put you in a corner, the rage takes over. If people only give advice like "you need to pray" or "I went through that and am ok now," etc. and realize that will not fix some people then maybe another approach should be taken before the advice is just to pray or be alone! Maybe everyone should try and listen with an open mind rather than trying to relate everything to their beliefs immediately and immediately judge "well, that's not me." WE KNOW, everyone says that rather than really listen. Thank you for your time.

I love this song and just about everything Ronnie puts out. However, he has denounced Christianity and his reasoning is not “bad.” However - what he hates about it are portions of “religion” that are of MAN, not God. (Monetary) Tithing - MAN. Criticism/hatred of those who sin(differently than you) - MAN. When I hear these lyrics my heart hurts for Ronnie, he is so talented and so genuine. I pray that some day, some how, he can experience that overwhelming presence of God and develop a relationship with God. Not bound by what society says religion is. If there are bad apples in Christianity, it’s up to us to make the difference and love one another truely as brothers and sisters in Christ. I’ve learned from people in many different bible believing religions. Take those denominations and put them on a back shelf. And take that hate and wash it away in holy water. 😂
PS Tithing is taking care of your neighbor/community.

The little girl is his daughter Willow who is the motivation for him to do better. Ronnie’s mom abandoned him and his brother when they were very young she was a drug addict. Raised by his dad who also had addiction issues . Ronnie’s older brother was an addict as well and died in a motorcycle accident leaving behind a wife and children.
Ronnie struggled with addiction also but I believe he has more than 10 years sober. When he was in his teens his dad became a born again Christian and started a Christian motorcycle club. Sorry, got a little carried away 😅

@@thecreativecriticals2354 The song is about being ignored by everyone who was supposed to help to the point of becoming the monster everyone thinks you are. Your god doesn't help everyone. Didn't help him. Didn't help me either. Found peace elsewhere.

A great video with a deeper metaphor, as expected from Ronnie. Starting with how he destroyed all the haters in court, then trying to remain calm and collected, seeing others having their little personal monsters out in the open(purple eyed "possessed" people on the street showing him hate without even trying to be polite), trying to keep it together, going to someone who he thinks can help, only to be betrayed again, having the "psychiatrist" call the army(gossip newspapers?) on him, as he still tries to keep from lashing out until he gets cornered and no longer has a different way out. Only then does he allow his monster to surface, but once he does... Only the thought of the innocence of his daughter can get him to calm down. Brilliantly done.

As a Christian, I love his music and everything he's doing. I just saw them twice now and hope to see them for a 3rd time in September. I'm not going to say all the cuss words but his music hit deep from the days before I found Jesus. Very dark times. Thanks for this you guys!

No, RR has no problem telling anyone & everyone how he feels about Christians/ Christianity. I honestly have no judgement on that at all. But he can be a huge dick & he can be such a nice guy.
He is very talented musically & lyrically! I only like a few songs but respect the talent.

    The way I see it...
When you're singing the lyrics to great a song, even singing thru the parts you don't agree with, you're simply putting yourself in the artist's shoes and seeing things thru their eyes for a minute. It doesn't mean you agree with them, just that you understand how their feeling ❤
I'm not a popular monster and I am a believer.. But I sing along with him bc that's how he feels, not me❤

I really wish people were more open minded about the line I'm a liar, I'm a cheater, I'm a non-believer.
I don't necessarily think it means I lie to everyone, I cheat at love, I don't believe in God. It could very well mean something like I lie to myself, I cheat myself, I don't believe in myself. Because this is so much about depression. I have dealt with all 3 of those thoughts often!!!!
