I drive past this place regularly and I never would of imagined how stunningly beautiful it is inside, thank you for sharing ❤ We need more housing like this in central Auckland suburbs 😊
That grill facade on the street side is magnificent and the interior finishing materials are exquisite especially the ocean grey tile in the kitchen. Another great project! ♥

This is what apartments should be. 🔥🔥🔥 not the bs you usually see. I like living in a house. That's what I'm use to. But I really would'nt mind living here.

The design is impressive. However I feel for the rest of the neighbourhood as this building does not fit at all with the surrounding architecture. Many of the designs featured on The Local Project are showcases for architecture that is sensitive to its surroundings whether alone in nature, or within existing neighbourhoods. This design, while very good, does not.
I don’t agree. This transforms at night, as the neighborhood decides to go on a stroll it gives so much warmth from what it provides while being so discreet, the material alone are worth the location more than you know, the neighborhood is what needs to keep up. Not saying everything needs to go, i just think this adds so much more to human life than any other building surrounding. Id be lucky to grow up admiring such art from afar. But I respect your perspective and think of it as a challenge to better suite materials that elevate its surroundings from all points of view.
I totally agree, not to mention that for the sake of the innovative design you have completely ruined the left and right sizes of the neighbouring houses. They now face to a concrete wall, for God's sake!. This type of architecture, even if it is eye-catching, in such surroundings should be forbidden. What you have done to those 2 neighbours is plain and simple being a complete bastard.
I was also looking for someone in the comments to mention this. While the architecture is amazing, the surrounding homeowners have a complete loss of privacy and gained a giant building out of their window. I am surprised this was approved, especially in a nice neighborhood.
This building quite literally sticks out like a sore thumb. I'm sure all the architecture was well thought out, but an integral part of architecture is to know where to build given that buildings interact with their surroundings.
"mixed-use development that positively contributed to Auckland’s built environment" I'm not sure how this building does this in its location. Perhaps if it were in Auckland's city centre it would be different, but this towers over everything around it and doesn't mesh well with the neighbourhood. As others have mentioned, I feel sorry for the direct neighbours who now have this to look at every day.
It seems good architecture is only for the wealthy. Can this channel please show more economical projects that might be achieved on the median income without going into debt for the next three incarnations?
Its an innovative design design but has almost completely ignore the context. It stands out because of its excessive height and awkwardness in the area rather than its design
I agree lovely BUT what about the next developer and the next developer who builds in front or back. Light and views seem only to belong to a lucky few - Central Park Dilemma.
I love most of the projects featured on this channel but this one really disappoints. Other comments about inappropriate scale and prison-like feeling because of the screening and blank concrete walls echo my impression as well. Would not be happy if I lived next door. Sorry but this project doesn’t do it for me

It dwarfs the neighboring buildings/blocks light to the neighbors yards, etc. it's a shame that it was allowed to be overbuilt relative to the neighborhood.
this doesn't seem local at all the house sits like a tumor in the neighborhood imported from the Downtown more urban area architecture... plus i think sometimes its better to not show the clients
Totally inappropriate development in that location: too big relative to its neighbours, and too close to the neighbouring homes for its size. The buildings across the road also now have a monstrous big box in front of them, rather than appropriately sized houses and apartments. Yes, it's shiny and new, but so what: it's just another modern box with expensive materials and fittings...

I do not think so, this structure, is way to , regard Cubanise, along Germanic Architectural it does. nor have any reality regard "US."..in Urban Hearn Bay along anything to do with the Relationships ...with the Waitemata Harbour ..

Very good palette, awesome architectural features, no flaws here!
Wonderful job and I think the building sits really nicely in the area. The interiors look stunning.
Love the kitchen. Many ideas for my next project. Sophie, smile..... ;-)
Great vids i love this calm kind of architecture content.
Amazing Project
Always blessed to see today 🙏🏽
Great architecture

I am surprised this was allowed through planning, right of light ect for the neighbours and far too high!
This building quite literally sticks out like a sore thumb. I'm sure all the architecture was well thought out, but an integral part of architecture is to know where to build given that buildings interact with their surroundings.
Beautiful 😍😍😍😍.
I’m impressed…..would love to have seen more though.👍🏾😊
yes, I feel we got only glimpses of the interiors...
I consider living in apartments as living in a tuna can, but this shown here is different.
Well this is probabaly considered as a luxury apartment
luxurious
At 3. 23 From the street, it's looking a bit like the Copan Building by Neimeyer in Sao Paolo. The idea of scale is blurred.
Wow. What a clam build! Looks great and the feeling to do like a step in is there 👏🏻 good Job from the Team!
Clam? Is that some antipodean slang for, like, tight or sick? It's hard to keep up. I like it though...."That shit's clam!"
Impressive
What cameras and lenses does the cinematographer uses for your channel's videos? Could you please tell?
You’d have to ask:
Filmed by Swell Productions.
Edited by O&Co. Homes.
@@thebankchanneltv 🥲
Love it!
Sheesh, this building looks so good it looks like it was rendered
I thought the same way😂
Gorgeous!

Love the prison vibes of the metal screens
Apartment Tour ?
Nice project. But how did it get approved? That's not the neighborhood for such building. Shame
Good architecture but looks out of place in the neighborhood
Its an innovative design design but has almost completely ignore the context. It stands out because of its excessive height and awkwardness in the area rather than its design
How the hell did the planning laws allow a 5 storey building in a neighbourhood of 2-3 storey buildings?????
The same way the 5 story building down the street did. (Visible around 0:54)

Nice building but town planning has lost the plot
Seems like a shopping mall, doesnt match with the neighblorhood!!
It dwarfs the neighboring buildings/blocks light to the neighbors yards, etc. it's a shame that it was allowed to be overbuilt relative to the neighborhood.
Screw the neighbors.
I can’t help but feel there are several engineered comments in the thread promoting these apartments,
The poor neighbours :(

Looks like a prison. ID and views are nice but as a piece of architecture it’s a bit weak
Interesting design but it should not have been built in that neighborhood.
