I hadn't heard about this Hatfield - McCoy killing but I've certainly heard about Matewan and the miner's strike. I studied it in one of my history classes. Good job Tony.
@@CAROLINATONY don't forget to mention that President Hoover ordered American Army Air Corps bombers to fly in and bomb the strikers. Fortunately the bombers turned back to their airfield because of bad weather. Tents, where the strikers and their families were living were machine gunned by Pinkertons and deputized men from outside the area. This was a very dirty situation. If you can watch the film "Matewon" you can get a sense on how things really were--communists and all.
The Hatfield McCoy fight should be taught in a college course entitled "The Futility of Stupidity". Because I can think of nothing more ignorant than two families, already leading hard lives, making them harder by trying to wipe out each others bloodlines. I'm glad the generations who survived it are smarter. Better together, folks. Always.
