But although the cigar box slide is a crowd pleaser and a bit of a signature for Ms. Fish, she's actually quite a versatile guitar player and singer and even better in 2021 than she was back in 2015. I like what you said about the "possible mistake" in the middle of the song. I really treasure such moments; I grew up on bands where part of everyone's job in the band was, any time things were getting too perfect, throw in something that doesn't quite fit just to keep everyone alert.

Just rewatched the opening. I play blues guitar and have played with and listened to many and their energy and soul is what stands out. I hear that in Fish here. Also, this was a suggested video that I bookmarked not something I found. Thanks for the comment.

Fish is a 2 time Blues Music Foundation award winner dating back a decade, and gets nominated nearly every year. She's appeared in every major blues festival in the U.S. multiple times.

The North Mississippi Allstars put it back on the map on their first album in 2000. They're tight with the Burnsides.
