I very much enjoy your John Deere 4XX videos. I have a 1993 model with less than 600 hours on it that was smoking badly, so I got the engine off of the frame yesterday and started breaking it down today. The first cylinder is as smooth as a baby's bottom (thankfully - because I was worried about having to bore them out). I also loved your Little Buck videos. That is the bucket system that I am planning to go with if I can keep my wife's Mini Cooper out of the garage and taking my "project money."
I did see your panel repair video and the tip to move the front infrastructure appropriately so my panels now fit perfectly, I am in process of fiberglassing the inner panels trying to overt cracking and breaking. I appreciate your videos and your courtesy of promptly replying to issues. Thank you!
Glad to see that you got your JD 445 fixed up and ready to be worked once again. And thank you for pointing out those little issues you encountered during disassembly and reassembly, as well as the remedies. They are good to make note of, possibly saving other's time if they have the same or similar problems. Looking forward to seeing your JD (real) garden tractors being put to work.
Thank you for the nice comment! For a project like this, the manuals are good for covering the fundamentals, but there are always many additional challenges that you have to navigate yourself. So I hope my explorations are helpful to other JD 425/445 owners...
Love you videos, I own a 425 that I’m rebuilding. Any way you can do a wiring video I took pictures on a phone but it broke to the point of no return. Thanks again for all the knowledge
Wonderful video and work, thanks for sharing! Would you happen to have a part number on that high back seat? What sort of modifications did you make to the bracket? Looking at this for my 93 425. Thanks!
Hopefully it the new engine either had or you changed it to the “Steel” cam gear,, or unfortunately you will be rebuilding it again shortly... good luck with it i hope all works out well for you ..another question is why does it look like your differential lock peddle look like its stuck down ?
I replaced the side panels from a after market source and find the grill does not align properly, I will try to adjust the front frame and hopefully it will fit better. Thankyou.. do you have any documentaries on your hydraulic system as this 425 has never had hydraulic system install.
I do have two vids on adding additional shut off valves to the hydraulics, which could be helful. As for the basic system you should be able to buy a kit that connects to the hydrostatic system. Good luck!
I bought that engine cheap on ebay and rebuilt it myself. The original seized engine that I pulled from my 445 is stripped down and waiting for me to reassemble it.
Tesser52 Thank you for your fast response I do really enjoy your videos you’re very informative Did you just buy a rebuild kit off eBay? I currently have six of these John Deere tractors ranging from 455 to 4:25 I have three spare engines not sure if the cylinder sleeves are cracked or not it’s extremely hard to find a machine shop near me to perform these tasks. I have a full mechanic ability to rebuild them but if there was a more cost-effective way to get these parts that would really help out
@@FBIsurveillance62 I purchased both rebuild kits and parts from Kawasaki supplier ATVWorks.com Their prices are very good and they're helpful. I found it best to call them because not all parts are listed on their website. Obviously, before doing a rebuild I check everything with a bore gauge and micrometer to check wear and tolerances, etc. I will probably soon be posting a rebuild vid...
Very helpful thank you so much for taking time out in responding I have been a subscriber for a while I believe a little buckloader lead me to your videos a while but I’m sure glad they did
